The fielding techniques will be similar, though there are differences in the rules. A woman who played last year was an amazing pitcher and is apparently a brilliant softball player too. That's what gave me the idea, that and the travel involved with Ebob continuing with baseball!

I played softball for about thirty years on and off. Played all positions, mainly catcher.Played havoc with my knees,ankles and fingers,broke my cheek bone in the latter years.

Ouch! Do catchers in softball have to crouch down for hours on end like they do in baseball? I watch them and think that I wouldn't be able to walk when I stood up let alone run to a ball. It doesn't surprise me at all that the catcher dropping the ball is a signal for everyone to steal bases!!

Yes, squatting in a turtle belly and a face mask on is a bit restricting.If you have a good pitcher/catcher combo you are half way there.

And those big blasted things strapped around your legs! I dreaded them trying Ebob out as a catcher - which was possible with all of the new restrictions - as I was imagining all the balls that would go through the hole in her glove! Having said that, she had improved a lot from the last time I saw her train...

Isn't everyone over-reacting after the spat that occurred? We've had lots of controversy and spitting in the past, and that won't change in the future either, but people just accept what has happened and move on. Ob-la di! Ob-la da! Life goes on. I'll throw a cream pie in your face and you can throw a ball at the bulls-eye and dunk me in the tank. We'll all clean up, dry off, and wake tomorrow to a new day and new challenges! Life goes on, but hopefully not without the many friends and acquaintances we've made on this site.

The caulking is not done, but the car is fixed. The brake line had corroded thru. Didn't get any pics taken. Maybe the next time.

Viki, have fun on your trip. We only made reservations once and when we got there, they couldn't find it. Got a room anyway. Found that it's more fun to stop where you want than where you need to.

June, sorry to hear about bowls. If you ever come to the states, visit Maine in September. That time of year is when they harvest lobsters. When we were there a few years back, you could get a whole meal for $10. BTW, how's the patients? I hope doing better.

Hi All, just heard from Heidi, she will be offline for a couple of days and is having her epidural in the morning. At least we know she is alive and kicking.
Off to do a puzzle or two. Toodles for now.

Finally finished sorting the belly busters... if I could just get it done instead of reading and writing and making coffee and nagging children and eating and .......

Great news that Heidi is alive and kicking. She had mentioned that the last epidural was wearing off so I'm glad she will have another tomorrow..

eea. i don't usually use capitols because i am really lazy. i am a terrible typist and the shift key slows me down even more. the most important key on my key pad is the backspace! i DO know where the capitols should go. i am actually the neighborhood editor. i can edit a paper like crazy. bring on the 20 page reports people! you'll get an "A"!
