Stella - I just happen to have some cocoa for you! My cup was a cappucino.
I am up early, but went to sleep very early as I was beat from working in the yard yesterday. Sure does help one sleep well!

At this time of year the yard work is never done! We have so many trees that the day after everything is raked, it looks like it hadn't been done at all! But I leave that stuff to the boys! That's probably why they sleep so well!!

MzT, Mama & Heidi - hope you are all getting some good sleep and feel great in the morning
Actually MzT - I know you are feeling pretty well, but just hoped you got a good night's rest - I was SO happy to have slept through the night without waking up making 'to do' lists in my head!

Brendan has a game today and since he played well in the last game, I talked hubby into making the trip down(3 hours one way) I figured his best chance of playing again would be after he was recognized as playing really well. If he doesn't play, hubby will not be happy. He probably won't get home until 1am!

Stella - our leaves are just starting to come down - soon I will want your boys to come over to my place...I will gladly give up the good sleep! hehehe
I've been in the yard getting bulbs and other plants in and extending my drip system. I'm doing a fairly large patch (about 300 sq.feet) near my creek and pond with lots of naturalizing bulbs, and then flowering ground cover for the summer and fall.

Max also has a soccer game today, so I will be going to that. I do the stats for the team. I hope they have enough kids for the game because the bus that was supposed to take them, can't for some reason, and the parents have to drive. Some parents probably can't get out of work early. The game is at 4pm.

Keeping my fingers crossed that your trip down to see Brendan play pays off. I was so glad to hear he had finally gotten a chance and done so well.
My hubby had hand surgery 10 days ago, so our construction work has stopped until he heals (aobu 6 weeks) - we've been working so hard on our addition and remodel that we haven't gone anywhere (for more than a few days) for over 2 years! We're heading up into Oregon - just a leisurely driving holiday.

Vici, sound like it will be beautiful! I kind of gave up on my yard years ago. I don't have a green thumb and it tends to get expensive.

That should be a pretty drive if the leaves on the trees are as brilliant there as they are here. This year has been really good for the colors. I just love this time of year!

'true that!' re: the expense. I have a serious addiction to trees. We only have about 2/3 of an acre that is already forested with maples, oaks, cedars and pines...and I have planted about 50 other trees (dogwoods, a variety of colorful maples, aspen, white birches, liquid ambers and several fruit trees) - we could be staying in fancy hotels on our trip if I hadn't been indulging my addiction!

Vici, I do not remember, will you be camping along the way? or hotels? It has been decades since Al and I got in the car and just set out, go wherever we wanted, no time table, vague destination. It was a lot of fun.

Good morning Tricia! Glad you got some sleep and bummer about the early call. I'm imagining there will be Starbucks and such along the way with Wifi...I definitely will be checking in. It was so fun to hear from Suzy along the way.

I'm afraid to camp we would need to bring along some serious bedding. Can't believe we use to backpack and sleep on the ground only 10 years ago! We will be finding hotels along the way.

Stella, not bad. Today Al needs loading help later in the day. One of the guys who is to come over called in to see if hubby knew when. Nope, know it will be afternoon, that is about all. This guy is one who thinks, if he is awake, the world should be awake. Otherwise a pretty good guy

Vici, did not know if you had a camper or some such, or had borrowed one. I am like you, must have creature comforts. Old bones do not sleep on the ground, or on a futon on the floor in a loft without proper stairs even. that was a bed provided for us one trip to put up a dome. We found a B and B.

It got chilly here last night, down in the 30's. We didn't have the heat on yet so it got down to about 62 in the house. Is it still warm by you, Tricia?

Stella, it is cool here but damp, rain forecast. high today of 74 I think, down from a high of 84 yesterday.
You know, I really enjoy hearing about the changes of the seasons across the world, all the weather, how the patterns are changing, and how each of us deals with the changes. It is so much more personal, more real somehow than hearing it on the news. Would love to be up that way to see your display of fall colors.

We need the rain here, everything is dry and we will miss fall color if we do not get some rain soon, if we have not already missed the chance. when it is dry, leaves go to brown without going through the colors. I am seeing a tiny bit of color in a couple trees, not much.
Hubby did say rain could miss us today, the ONE day this week it would matter to his work if it rained. Actually, would be OK if the correct 2 hours were rain free hehehe, but we will play the hand we are dealt today.

Sorry about that MizT! I still don't have my new laptop and the old one went bizzerk! It wouldn't let me type, it kept trying to load programs and it kept opening sudoku pages over and over again. It will be nice when I have the new one! Well, I should go now to get some brekkie. I didn't mean to be here this long.
Have a great day/night everyone!

*** DUPLICATE POST - COPIED FROM 'EASY' PAGE ***
Good Morning everyone. I am SO disappointed. I went to visit a few pages to try to visit and try to put some of this behind us. If you've commented at all in the past day or so - then chances are I visited your page today. Why didn't I leave a message - (*SIGH*) - I was upset and disappointed at the things that I read there. These comments were more suited to private 'inbox' messages most of them. I was so upset to read more attacks on others, dismissal of people's points of view and the superior attitudes of some posters. OK - I can't see me returning here (the site) any time soon. Good luck with your lives and please just try to remember, if you MUST be nasty (even veiled nastiness) please remove it from public view as it appears to be designed to hurt - and although I wasnt mentioned personally - I AM HURT

Thanks SUZY for the latest TOPPs update. I have moved up on the list, imagine that hehe. Guess when I spend more time here, cannot help from getting Topps.
JUNE, how are your patients today? I hope both are continuing to improve. I am glad you got some time to bowl, you need a bit of an outing. I commend you for all you are doing to help your Daughter and granddaughter.

Hummm, seems I had missed reading one complete page, sorry my comments are a bit late.
Suzy, your accommodations for your trip did show you a different lifestyle it seems. It is sad how some people must live, often through no fault of their own. good for you, helping what bit you could.

HI NOLA, does coffee keep you awake also? As much as I love coffee, I must limit it to morning hours or it will keep me awake.
I can handle that more than I can handle CHOCOLATE keeping me awake, no chocolate in th e afternoon either! To get my daily quota of chocolate I have been known to have my choclate cake that I could not eat at dinner, for breakfast hehehe
Chocolate is a food group isn't it?
