Just Enough
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough 'Hello's' to get you through the final 'Goodbye.'

June, I think mum was born in 1944. Both her parents worked. She used to do the grocery shopping from a very young age, 10?. It was a mile walk to the train station, there and back. My life wasn't easy, but compared to hers it was a walk in the park. She was even sent to school with pneumonia. I got to do some amazing things thanks to her. I even travelled to Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane for national marching titles. Fundraising paid our fairs and we were billeted with families once we got there. But she managed to find the money for my uniforms and the trips to Sydney to compete. We competed three weekends out of four. So it wasn't all bad.

Hi all.
Back home for time being. Pete will have the cateract removed from his eye on Feb 3, they are then talking about doing the other eye. Guessing we will be home for a couple of months, apart from that all is good.

Greetings!

DOrA, well done! TOPP and post number 10,000! I'm glad you listened to your 'orange side.' And to think I was that close, but was totally oblivious to the opportunity. I'm glad you got it!

June, I hope all goes well. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

MizT, I hope you're doing well and getting the medications you need!

Heidi, hopefully that sinus infection is improving!

Broni, will be thinking of you, Pete, and Bella. Prayers that his cataract surgery goes well!

Suzy, thanks for thinking about me and the cello. I haven't been able to practice since mid-November, and that was only the first time since mid-October. I had to 'drop out' of my quartet and string orchestra after the first session in October. I'm hoping things will get better and I can get back to music. We'll see. Hubby has an appointment with the urologist tomorrow, and we may be told he'll need surgery. We'll see.

It's getting late, and I need to be off to bed. Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, prayers, positive thoughts, and

Greetings friends. Yes, going shopping means I am doing better. Not sure why, but headaches are such I can now ignore them, with an occasional rearing of it's ugly head. A tylenol and some lidocaine to my neck and all gets better again. thanks for asking.

I am up middle of the night, cause I went to bed about 5:30, cause I was achey and cold, pain meds were 30 min away. I fell asleep for 3 and a half hours! missed that pain pill totally. took one when I was up at 9:30 and back to my recliner and dozed off and on for another 3 hours! now it is early tomorrow (12:30 am on Tuesday)and I am awake and on the computer. Oh well, does not make any difference to me, what hours I sleep or wake, not disturbing anyone else.

I bought a big pre lighted christmas tree, online after christmas sale. I t arrived today. Prewired, over 500 clear lights, and 7 1/2 feet tall, with hinged branches, easy assembly. I have donated it to EP, for the main lobby next year. The old one had been that big, but the top section was missing, lights no longer worked, and the branches were held in place by string. Not a nice tree for the first thing visitors saw coming into building. I told Jan if she would toss that tree when taking it down, I would get a new one, and I did just that. I hope it lasts and lasts for years, it will be nice in the high ceiling section of the lobby.

Last week I asked Tim, our director if he could have lawn care people cut back the dead lantna in the parking lot island. I had done it the last several years, taking me many days working a v=bit at a time. The landscape people came today, it was done in about 30 minuets with the electric commercial grade sheers, and carted off in about 10 more minuets, YEAH, it looks so much nicer now. I hope I can get to Lowe's and buy mulch to replenish that area. It sure does keep down the crabgrass and other opportunistic weeds that will come up any chance they get, even in the cracks between the covering I put down under the mulch.

I know there were other posts I intended to reply to. June, glad tohear treatment is going as well as it is. yes, sleep is healing, sleep when you need to and go when you can. for you, being able to continue your social events are as important as medicine, it is your way of life, something you are not ready to give up, and I do not blame you. If you come home and sleep, that is a good trade off. You got to see friends and family, you got tired, you slept. sounds good to me. Lovely you had someone bring you dinner to heat and serve. You have done so much for others, I am glad to see others are now doing a bit for you.

Sleepy again now, and an eye that is sore. I think I have another sty under eyelid, about the third this year, bummer. time to hunt the medication once again. Not a fan of putting a cream medication into eye, it gets on everything.

I did read and thought of all of you. Just cannot stay awake to reply, sorry. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

I was going to say it didn't make it to the forecast 37 today, but it did reach 36.3. I'm loving my new air conditioner! A southerly change has come through and we're down to 20/68 now. Nice and cool! Windows and doors open and loving it. Hope the weather is good where you are. I'm pretty sure it isn't for theresa.

Heidi, glad your rain has ended. It has rained often here, but not your 14 days worth. Containers are water logged, plants are struggling. this has not been a good growing season. How is your headache? I hope the migraine has gone.

DORA, we have had temps more like late spring until that last front with the storms and tornadoes passed. Now more seasonable, daytime low 50's (10-12 C), at night working it's way down to 32 (0C) for about an hour then rising again toward the 50 mark. in the sun, no wind, 50's are pleasant. In the shade, with a brisk breeze, it is cold. So you must be a bit north of Alabama, if the US is Somewhere's location

Suzy, if I remember correctly 38C is when you reach our 100 degrees, and 36.3 would be high 90's. Yep, that AC would feel good. I am glad your temp has dropped. Wish we had that cooling that you get with a southerly change, it just does not happen that quickly here. Occasionally a T storm might drop the temps 10 or 15 degrees, but the humidity would be so high it was still unbearable with AC. I did have my windows open yesterday, then no AC overnight but windows closed as temps went down near freezing. Back to AC again this morning, sunny day on my 6 foot wide windows all day can raise indoor temps quickly. Usually our coldest temps come Feb and March, in fits and starts. We will see if this year is as usual.

Julie, do let us know what the urologist says about hubby and surgery. He has had so many appointments and surgeries lately, no wonder you cannot practice and had to drop put. if you can get back to practice soon, how long will it take you to catch up? I know you loose a lot if you do not practice regularly. Good luck with his appointment, and with getting to play again soon.

OK< going to post this fore I loose it, or it is too long. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Everyone!

MizT, I'm glad to hear your headaches have been manageable for the most part! You are so generous to donate a Christmas tree to EP. I am sure it will be a welcome addition that everyone can enjoy! From your description of the old one, it was certainly in need of being replaced! I'm glad you thought to ask if the landscapers hired by EP could cut and remove the unsightly and dead lantana. I'm sure it was pretty when flowering, but not pleasant to look at in its current state.

I hope your eye is feeling better, MizT! And I thoroughly agree with the points you made about the importance of social activities for June! She always seems to have wonderful activities and friends to enjoy!

Suzy, your cooler temperatures must be a relief. I'm glad you have a new air conditioner to help make the heat more bearable!

DOrA, I also noticed the temperatures you mentioned for 'Somewhere.' Does 'all Y'all' give us a bit of a hint as to Somewhere's location?

Heidi, I'm glad the rain stopped at 14 days, rather than the 40, or you would have been in need of lots of building materials and waterproofing!

MizT, thanks for asking about hubby. The urologist wants to schedule for sometime next month. Hubby had an appointment with his ophthalmologist today. While he was having all of his medical issues the last few months, the cataract still remaining became much worse, which ophthalmologist said can happen. He wants to schedule cataract surgery - probably in March after hubby recovers from the surgery in February. IF the surgeries go as they ought to normally and hubby has no complications, they may produce less stress and faster healing than the previous surgeries. We'll keep our fingers crossed. In the meantime, I absolutely MUST get back to practicing! I'm afraid to find out how much I've lost.

Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers! Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, , and healing energy, as well!

Not better, and I have a problem with my throat. It's swollen up and giving me problems breathing when I lay down. And no health insurance for another week.

......
On the other hand, I'm enjoying life. The divorce is nearing finalization, and I'm hearing stories. The ''girlfriend'' Joanna has been spending time with I (soon-th-be-ex) H at his church events, primarily at their very successful weekly food pantry. They provide food: fresh, frozen, canned and boxed, for about 130 to 150 needy families a week. Volunteers have been working there together for years. She has decided that she's a VIP (future mrs Doctor) and has started ordering people around there, and taking whatever she wants from food boxes already prepared ((for the extra needy who have to have the food delivered because they're pretty much bedridden)). Half the volunteers are ready to walk out, and she has made a LOT of enemies. A lot of people are disgusted with Gil over this, because he's allowing it. I can't believe how quickly he's showing his true self to the community. And he's clueless that this is happening!

Hi all,
It was another snow day today, but it turned out not to be as bad as predicted. That's always a good thing.
We have had a lot of freezing rain, drizzle, ice pellets this winter - all of which make my arthritis really flare up. A lie down and a hot water bottle help with that.
Sorry to hear about all the health issues. Julie, when hubby had his two hip surgeries last year, there were times I would sit at the kitchen table in tears because I wasn't sure how much more of the 'tending to' I could take. A good cry and I would get up and do what I had to do, an no one was the wiser. Yours is not an easy task.
Heidi, don't you just love karma?

I forgot to add that Joanna has been very b*tchy and rude to all the volunteers at the food pantry. Foul mouthed, from what I've been told. It's not just feeling entitled to take food from needy people. Is this really Gil's idea of ''a good Christian household''?

Anecdote: Bizbel gets very hangry. A few days ago she fell off a chair at the pool. Onto concrete. Her lip was a mess. She couldn't eat her dinner. The next morning she banged on Dana's door yelling for her breakfast. She was grumpy and yelling at her until she got her breakfast. If she starts getting cranky, the first move is to feed her face.

Hi, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Heidi, I wish you were not having so many health issues at the moment. It reminds me how very lucky we are to have health insurance. Otherwise, we'd be on the streets by now. Hoping you'll feel better soon! I know IH's actions are no surprise to you, but it's amazing that he thinks no one else will notice. Is he related in some way to a certain orange-faced politician?

Theresa, ANOTHER snow day? I wish I could share some of our milder temperatures and rain, instead of snow, with you. Of course, we're nearing the end of January & facing a month-and-a-half or so of notoriously cold and snowy weeks. Stay warm, dry, and safe!

I didn't think you'd make it that easy for us, DOrA!

Suzy, at first I thought you meant hungry, and then I thought you meant angry. Now that I have read all of your post, I see that you meant 'HANGRY!' 'I am woman; hear me roar!' (Now if I could only remember how to make music notes!)

Broni, I'm also glad you still have the spa! It's one of the better ways to combat being overheated in such horribly hot weather! Take care!

Sending an ample supply of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, , healing energy, positive thoughts, and prayers for all!

Julie, I know where DoA lives and it is nowhere near you.
Today I had an ex neighbour from Melbourne come to visit. We left Melbourne in 1974. Great to catch up. I have seen her a few time since we left.
No treatment today as it was a public holiday. Some diarrhoea today made me feel a bit 'YUK' this afternoon. Feel better now and I am soon off to bed.
Hugs to all.

Anecdote: hubby had to drop in at work today to check for water quality test results. If there's an exception he has to arrange for a retest. Since he's unlicensed at the moment (another anecdote), I was driving. As soon as he sat at his desk the phone rang. He hesitated but then answered it. It was a lady he'd dealt with before who needed help changing her water filter. Shoal Water does not provide that service, but hubby has done it for her before. We head over to her house only to find out she doesn't have one yet. So hubby makes some phone calls for her. As we are about to leave she asks if we can give her a ride over town. We had to put the kids car seats in the back but did it anyway. She was very grateful and I think we may hear from her again. She has 5 kids, but the closest one lives in Sydney. I reassured her about the inconvenience telling her I'd given rides to complete strangers before. She told me that was a really bad idea. I smiled since I'd only met her an hour beforehand.

Unlicensed anecdote: this is the first time hubby has had to renew his license since his diabetes diagnosis. He got to the RTA, only to find he has to have a lengthy form completed by his doctor. No appointments for another week, and of course he'd left it to the last minute. For a moment he considered driving to and from work anyway since it's just around the corner, about 2 km, but I said no, I'll drive you. Idiot! It's a pain in the bum. He's worth it though.

Heidi, it sounds like they are a good match, both feel comfortable taking things that don't belong to them because they want it, both are clueless about other people's reactions to them. You might say they deserve each other.

Short break in the middle of typing that to pick up chick starter before the store closed. Hubby went to feed the chickens and found a tiny little chick running around. We didn't know one of the chooks had gone broody. She must have hidden around the corner.

Hi, Everyone!

June, the good news is that you didn't have a treatment today. The bad news is that you had some diarrhea. The good news is that you felt better in time to go to bed. How nice that you had a visit from a former neighbor that you hadn't seen in a while!

June, I was pretty sure DOrA's 'all Y'all' might have been a fake 'hint.' As far as wondering where 'Somewhere' is, it really doesn't matter, but it's fun to guess. I don't recall a time when anyone really cared where anyone lived, except when we want send an appropriate holiday wish to anyone.

Suzy, I love your anecdotes today. Your hubby sounds like he's a very compassionate good guy to help a person change (and purchase) a water filter. Of course, it makes sense that a caring and compassionate person would be married to another caring and compassionate person like you! Oh, the irony of the lady advising you not to give a ride to a stranger!

Interesting anecdote about your hubby's driver's license, Suzy. I don't know of there are special considerations for someone who is diabetic in the United States.

Congratulations on the new baby chick, Suzy. Do you expect there will be more?

What a nice granny you are, Suzy, getting hot chocolate for the grandies. I hope they'll enjoy lunch and dinner with you tomorrow!

June, did ja work it out yourself or was there a 'blabbermouth' lurking, somewhere? OR did I stuff it and give it away? Inquiring mind wants to know, for all the difference it makes.

A 150 mile drive, today, round trip, to have lunch with my sister, brother and his wife. It was worth it. Good food & company.

Tomorrow, off again. This time closer to 200 miles. Have some trees to prune, Somewhere, Else. Next semi dry spell I'll haul the chipper to reduce the brush pile...

Hubby says we're looking at restrictions soon. Part of his job is to look at in versus out with water use so I know this stuff before most. Of course it would be better if Sydney went on restrictions when we did since they draw from our river. Did I ever tell you that bizbel's middle name is River?

Anecdote: hubby has lots of stories about things he and his brother got up to. This one was his brother. He had a bow and arrow. His mate was further down the road holding an arrow. They waited for a car to come by, then brother shot an arrow in the air. His mate quickly pulls his arrow up so it looks like it is coming out of his chest and falls backwards. The car slams on its brakes and slides sideways down the road. The driver jumped out and ran toward the mate. When he got close the kid jumped up and ran away. The would be rescuer bent over laughing. Thank goodness. That could have gotten ugly.
