Suzy.... now my heart hurts, too. But we're lucky. We got to have Mamacita in our lives for a while. And some day we'll be able to go back and reread the wisdom and love in her old posts without crying too much to see them clearly.

..... and just think.... she did not have to see the nightmare of Trump being elected President by a country of fools. That would have killed her.

We all miss Mamacita and her wise words. I thought of her a lot when I got the diagnosis last year. She knew when her time was coming and she was ready to meet her maker.
With a free day on Thursday and a free weekend I have felt good this weekend. I have now had half the treatments. 14 more to go. Some HOT weather coming in the next few days. Poor school children returning to school in the heat tomorrow.

Yes, Mamacita faced her passing with immense courage. She accepted it, and reassured everyone who loved her that she was ready and it was her time.

I'm so glad you've had a comfortable weekend, June. Halfway done is always good. I wish you comfort, an easy time with the remaining treatments, and successful results.

Greetings to All!

June, I'm glad you're half-way through this round of treatment, and glad you've had some milder temperatures. I wish they would last until treatments were finished!

Well, DOrA has certainly muddied the waters as far as I'm concerned. Northern hemisphere, North America, one of about 35 or 40 states would be my guess.

Suzy, your BIL and your hubby must have been a handful for their parents! Luckily the driver who stopped wasn't enraged by their antics!

I don't remember if you told us Bizbel's middle name is River. What a fun middle name!

Heidi, it's good that you could get the fuel needed for your truck and tractor - and also 'fueled' the horses and cows!

Suzy, Heidi, and June, you're all so right. We all miss Mamacita and her wisdom, but we were blessed to have her in our lives because of this site. She had such courage and strength! What an example she provided for all of us! And I imagine she would have been horrified by so much of what we have dealt with from the new 'leader' of the U.S.

I hope all are well! Wishing for milder temperatures down under, and successful treatments for June! Take care, Broni, Pete, and Bella. Hopefully Pete's procedure (on Friday, I think) goes well. MizT, I hope you and Tanya are finding relief and medications that are helpful!

Sending healing energy, , positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and prayers for everyone!

It was 39*c here yesterday. Forecast today is slightly cooler. Melbourne is going to be about 20*c. A bit different to this day 49 years ago when Sharon was born in Melbourne. That day was 110'6*f (43.6*c). That record for the hottest day was held until a few years ago.

Yesterday morning I had very bad neck and shoulder pain. So bad I was dry reaching. I have a feeling it was my neck/back playing up from watching the final of the tennis the night before. A couple of panadol and the pain reduced before I had to go for treatment. Feel OK today.

Thoughts for you on Sharon's birthday June. A tough day. Gentle hugs. I missed the finals, and they would have been good too. The Federer/Nadal final scores were incredible. All the hoopla about Federer's age, the women were around the same age!

The weather today is much better. We reached our forecast high of 29 at 8am and it's been going down since then. Only 21 now. Around 70 F. Hugs relief!

Hubby is licensed again! When we bought the air conditioner we were given a $50 voucher at a food warehouse thingy. It expired today so I picked up a leg of lamb, a pork roast and chorizo. Came to $51.

Alie is hand raising the latest grandchild. She named her ( we hope it's a her) Lucy. Gizmo and Lucy snuggle! Giz licks her too. A lot. I hope it continues when Lucy is a full grown chicken.

checking in to say all is well here, I have had my head stuck in a book, OK many books.
Back when my head hurt so much I could not read, and I seem to be starved for reading now, reading a book in a couple of days. I will try to get back and read posts here, but I need to get back to bed. Just up for intermission here and have a busy day ahead. Must take auto in, check engine light is on. Housekeeper, and I must either pick up take out or cook todayl

Hugs to each of you with extras,.

Heidi, could not believe the posts about the food bank, except that with Gil involved, anything can happen. I hope you feel better soon, and no more illnesses pop up until you get your health insurance reinstated.

Julie, it looks as if you will have a busy February and March with hubbies surgeries. I do hope you find time to do a bit of practice, and can quickly get back to the level you were before all the health problems started.

Suzy, hope BizBel's lip healed quickly so that she could eat, to keep away the crankies. My daughter got a spoon full of peanut butter or a slice of cheese when she started acting out in a certain way. We later found out she was allergic to food coloring and preservatives in foods, also caffeine. when she was older she told me that when she was cranky she wanted to run and scream and bite. I would be cranky too if that is how I felt!

Again, I did not catch up on my reading, still on page 251. I will keep trying.

Had to take my auto in for a check up. the check engine light was on. mechanic plugged it in, found it was a sensor saying the transmission fluid temp was not right, , he reset it, and it did not come back on, which it would have if there were a current problem. since replacement is rather difficult, therefore pricey, he suggested just driving it to see if it comes back on. That check light has a history of coming on for no good reason, so I am willing. I could not pick it up this afternoon cause 1.) they were closing early and 2.) my cleaning lady was here. I can pick it up tomorrow. My neighbor Connie will again offer transportation.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

My thoughts are with you all, so sorry to read some of these posts. June wishing you continued strength whilst you complete your treatment, Julie successful outcome with hubby's surgeries, and Suzy with hubby's Kidney problems. Hope only in one kidney and very treatable. Seems the only one who has had a great start to 2017 is Heidi (despite having severe sinus)with IH showing his true form. MizT,hope all is better with you - my car had the same problem - mechanic told me to use high octane fuel (pretty expensive) and within 2 fills engine light went off. Now comes on again if one of my kids uses the car and puts cheaper petrol in it.
Look forward to some better news next time round. Cheers to everyone.

Oh Suzy, I just saw your post. I am so sorry to hear that your hubby has cancer. Just that word is so very frightening. I hope you learn more soon, that it was caught early, and only one kidney. Luckily we have 2 of those, and can live with only one. Sending out wishes and thoughts and prayers for you, hubby and the whole family. Do keep us informed as you can. You know you can come here for anything you need. A big vent, a bit of distraction, someone to virtually hold your hand or give you a cyber hug.

Huge gentle hugs, dear.

Not really much more news. The lesion is 84mm long. He's apparently had it a long time and they expect to find that it has spread. That hasn't been tested yet. He's had a couple of back aches, but no other pain and no weight loss. Next appointment is next Tuesday.

I can see he's going to need an attitude adjustment. I said, this means I'll have to learn how to cook. He said I could do take out for one night? One night??? He means the day he actually has his kidney removed. Alie has headed back up to Wollongong to give her bf his arthritis shot, hubby drove her to the train. That should be my job now. Oh well, I figure he'll either be fine, or have no choice but to stop babying me.

Well, you DID ask him to stop babying you, Suzy.
Does he have ANY concept of how long it takes to recuperate from major surgery like that? One night? Who does he think he is? Superman?
Are they planning on doing the surgery as quickly as possible?

I just found out that I was denied coverage for health insurance. Of course, my insurance agents are closed today, so I cannot do anything until tomorrow. This probably means I will not get my much needed epidural on Monday.

Greetings!

Oh, Suzy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and hubby. May his surgery be successful and may he have a complete and speedy recovery! You will need to take extremely good care of yourself & stay as healthy and well-rested as possible to weather this storm. We have your back and are here for you!

Heidi, did they tell you why they denied medical insurance coverage for you? Hopefully, your insurance agents can get things straightened out tomorrow so that you'll be able to get your epidural on Monday!

We have also had a mostly mild winter. I think the coldest was while Hubby was in the hospital and I was staying with him. I think we have only needed to have our driveway and sidewalk cleared four times. I hope you're right about an early spring! (Will you have calves to tend to?)

Should be heading to bed soon, so I'll sign off and send {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , positive thoughts, and healing energy!

Suzy I am doing OK. My problem is from the Chemo. Diarrhoea and bad wind. After the Ray this morning we went shopping. I came home and had a rest, lunch and went back to making curtains for the laundry. The above problems started so I took some medication and rested until I started to feel better. Took in the washing, pulled a few weeds and cooked dinner.
Ken got me the paint I wanted so if the weather keeps cool enough I can paint around the door and windows in the laundry. I hope that re-assures you that I am doing OK.
Looking forward to the weekend and two free days. Only 10 treatments left!

A great buy at the grocery yesterday is now roasting in my oven. Good smells will soon fill my apartment, cause I coated it with a rosemary garlic herb mix. Found a 3 pound pork loin roast for $5. Should make 10-12 servings, I shall eat good the next bit. I will freeze half of it once roasted, and eat from the remaining half for the next week!

Did I say I took my auto in because it's check engine light was on? Plugged into the computer, it was said to be a transmission fluid heat sensor. they drove it, light did not come back on. They suggested I just drive it a while, and no worries if it did not come back on. I have had false alerts from that check engine idiot light, as my dad called them, so I am happy to do that. Minimal bill to pay, which is good. Medical stuff and christmas have cut into my little nest egg. I left the shop, and went to grocery, a longer than my usual outings and no problem so far.

On the way home, happened upon an accident, must JUST have happened. One car lying on it's smashed in roof, could not see if another car was involved, as I was across about 5 lanes, headed opposite direction. no first responders on scene, several people around on cell phones, summoning help, and a couple young men on their belly looking into the broken front windows, I imagine to check on driver and any passengers. Flat, clean dry road, no idea how that car did a flip. A utilities pole looked a bit out of alignment, did it try to climb the pole and flip? About 4-5 min later, saw first fire marshal then police approaching with sirens and lights, headed toward the accident I feel certain.

OHHHH, house is smelling good already. Should be done in time for lunch! I think I shall put some cabbage and onion, apples in with it to have roasted veg also. Off to kitchen now, hugs to each of you with extras.

It's I heard ol' Punxatawney Phil saw his shadow... which means 6 more weeks of winter. That's also what the calendar says, but I'm hoping for an early spring and an easy calving season.

Now you have ME craving a pork roast, MizT. I was about to go out the door to go grocery shopping for me and all the critters, and I think I'll add a pork roast to the list. (this pork loin was the closest I had to a pork roast)

MizT, The 'good smells', haven't started, here, yet, BUT... It's going to be a long arvo. The crock-pot has been loaded and is starting to warm. Veggie & chicken curry. I'm hoping it is worth the effort. The estimated 'prep time', bears no resemblance to the time it took me... And then there is the clean up the prep mess time. I am the dishwasher. No automation, here.

On the bright side, there should be enough for quite a few meals. Come on Seal-a-Meal - do your stuff!

JULIE, the temps DORA were too cold for that day in the lower south east, so I would eliminate Al, Ga, Fl, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Maybe a few more of the southern states, I did not check temps further than my immediate area that day.

Early spring might be right. I saw so many things in bloom on Wednesday when I was going to grocery. I take a short cut through an older neighborhood, with a lot of older landscaping. I saw 3 huge tulip trees in full bloom, all pink and shining in the sun. there was one small planting of daffodills in bloom, and flowering quince. the pear trees here, all Bradford ornamentsla have buds swollen, not yet cracked open to show color, but with another two days of sun, then a bit of rain today, they sghould be popping open soon. fI do remember one spring, we had mild spring weather from before Valentines day through June, one of the longest springs I remember. I planted impatiens on Valentines day, had to cover them twice when temsp were forecast to go below freezing but the temps did not at my location. OH, I should check the containers that have daffodill bulbs, see if they have broken ground yet. The Oriental Lillies will be later, they are more cautious.

The pork roast was yummy, so good I will have again for dinner, this time with the baked onion and cabbage.

OH SUZY, I hope and pray that the cancer has not spread. Hope you have much more information after the upcoming appointment. Knowing is always better than worrying about the unknown. June, that is a LOT you are doing while on chemo and radiation. I would say you are doing excellent. Add my wishes for cooler weather and for huge success from the treatments. Hugs, dear.

Hugs friends, till later.

June, you are doing a lot better than hubby. He didn't go to work again today. He says he can't concentrate. The endone, and the uncertainty wouldn't be helping. I let him sleep past the time he was allowed to take it again and he moaned and groaned for half an hour until it worked. I did get him to eat a light dinner though. He hasn't been eating much.

Heidi, I hope you get health coverage soon. You would have been able to through the ACA. Sigh.

MizT, I'm planning a pork roast for tomorrow when the kids are here. I'm hoping hubby is up to helping because I've never cooked one before.

DorA, vegetable and chicken curry sounds delicious!
