Our local Aldi takes cards, but we pay 1% extra for credit cards.

Brenda - I haven't heard of Lidl, but that doesn't mean they don't have them elsewhere in Oz. Huh? Did that make sense?

But as soon as Australia was up and running - there they were! I can't believe how quickly Gath gets everything approved.

Good morning all in SA5 - I just had to read through 3 or 4 pages - I hadn't been in here for, oh, 24 hours!!
Love the new avatars - I tried to make myself a name one ages ago but didn't like it. I hesitate to ask MizT - but if you ever feel like doing another one - I'd love it!

Bean - sorry about your MIL. It seems a lot of us are at the age where the tables are turned and we become carers of our parents or in-laws. If it is possible, she should stay at her own home - they lose their independence and, I think, their dignity when they have to be cared for. My Mum looked after my Dad at home until he became impossible and she had to give in and let us place him in care. She lapsed immediately into dementia herself. So very sad that she couldn't enjoy a few years of freedom and joy before that. Dad passed away in 2006, she's in high dementia care - losing her memories and speech more every time we visit. She calls my brother, her youngest child, 'that other man in our family'. She'll forget me next as I'm the middle child and my sister last.

Viv - my sister and BIL spent the night at Port last week on their way back from Sydney - they love it there. She told me that they had found their favourite cafe there. Lo and behold it was Cafe66. I said - yep, I know it, was there people there doing cryptic crosswords?? Actually they ate there in the evening so you and John would have gone by then. But I did chuckle to myself.

Yes, Rolanda, I saw Gath's post earlier. It clears up a few things like we won't be showing as on-line all day if we leave our pooters on.

According to my list there's a lot of us on-line at the moment. I'm going off soon - might take hubby for a coffee if I can cope with the thought of him also going grocery shopping with me. Men are so impatient! So what if I read the labels! I go into Bunnings with him - ho hum!!
