BEAN, sorry to hear about your MIL. I was unable to care for either my mother or MIL in thier last days. Now we did a lot of suport earlier for them. We havd relocated them very close to our house, and i provided the evening meal for them for years. Hubby and i took turns dropping in to visit and check on them to or from work. but when they needed more constant care, and help getting up and down and dressing and such, no way i could do that, by then, I had already stoped working just for those reasons, I could not lift, pull push and assist patients. It is hard to say NO, I cannot do this, but sometimes it is the right way. I am proud you know your limits and can voice them.

I can hear the garbage trucks down the street...which will certainly wake my hubby, Mike. I'll be going off to visit over coffee with him when that happens, so if I suddenly disappear...well, you'll know!

Vici, I had to go read what happened with Bean's MIL. as you can tell by the above post. Then it was to the kitchen for coffee, where I discovered the TIME! I must get something prepared for breakfast. I did the bowl box spoon thing yesterday, so today is cook something and i am out of egg beaters. Must be creative today! I have sausage, and english muffins, and plum jam for the dressing, ( out of fat free cheese too, and yes, tomorrow is the day to reprovision)

It took me awhile to catch up on what I missed on SA while I was sleeping last night. Am keeping Bean and her MIL in my prayers. Your breakfast sounds yummy and nutritious - gonna be doing that restocking myself tomorrow.

Hey, I see Brenda's on-line...I wonder if she'll be checking in here. I LOVE my coffee. When we travel, we take our own maker and fixin's because we don't want to take a chance on being without! I have to drink the "Why Bother" type in the evening because I am a weinie and can't take the caffine that late!

After hubby had open heart surgery, we made lots of changes in diet and we THOUGHT we ate helathy before. It was all the hidden fats, and all the trans fats, that were getting him. AND his hamburgers from fast food at lunch!

Now his hamburgers are either veggie burgers or venison burgers. We eat a very low fat diet. That sausage is soo very lean, I either have to put in some good oil to cook it, or cook it on very low heat and hope it does not stick!

How is your hubby now? I hear that venison is great for the low fat - we do a lot of turkey and chicken in our house. I'm not a big beef eater, but Mike likes his steak now and again.
I know what you mean about trying to cook low-fat meat...no grease for it to cook in!

no one here all day? No friends online?

BRONI, SUZY, you should have avatars waiting in your mail box when you next check in. I sent them as both enclosed in the e-mail, and attachments. Maybe you can get to one of them.

Now I must make a grocery list. we are going to ALDIs, I hope, since we are headed that way tomorrow for another test. aldi's is too far to go unless I need a months worth of groceries and am already driving half way there. I do save enough in milk alone to pay for the extra gasoline, so every other saving is in my pocket.
Having to get squished a second time, but this happens with me, and a new radiologist at a new facility, wants to make sure, so I am not worried yet.

Oh, nearby thunder bumpers, let me check the weather. Who wanted me to send storms or rain?

Mizt Aldi is a great store to shop at, trouble is I usually spend and buy more than I actually go for. We have a store within 2 miles of my home so is one of my local stores. I generally have a look at there special offers on line before heading off to buy anything.

Hi Brenda! Yes, we're having a good time! I tried a little tennis this morning and made it through ok. Couldn't make the hike up the mountain though. Butt muscle is still torn, my other knee is bothering me and my shoulder that I dislocated over the winter was acting up. But all in all a good time. Everyone misses Jerry, Meghan and Brendan and they also miss not being here!

I didn't realize that Aldi stores were all over the place. I go there every now and then. They require cash, which I don't usually carry.

Hi Broni! Does brisk mean chilly or cold? I always get the impression that it doesn't get as cold in any part of Australia as it does here.

We can use debit cards here in Aldi, but not credit cards.
Do you have Lidl in either Australia or the US. It is a store very much like Aldi

Richard and I have been to a classic car rally this evening. All the cars on display are privately owned and lots of them are still used daily. It was nice seeing some of the cars I grew up with, and some I would love to grow old with

We do have a classic car ourselves, a Jaguar XJS. Richard bought it intending to spend some time lovingly restoring it, but has never found the time to do it.
