As you can see, the ravages of Alzheimers had taken hold of him by then. BUT he enjoyed that day immensely - with his 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren (he would have 15 now). When he died less than a year later, we were so thankful that we'd given him such an enjoyable day.

Love still shines through those eyes.........He's not gone as long as there is one person left on earth with his memory still well planted....My own Dad died almost 40 years ago, and I remember the hour....A wonderful tribute CynB....Peace!

When I was a kid, I thought that 60 was REAL old. Today it is beginning to look like 80 is the new 60. Your mum looks very young. We do have our memories we can cherish of the good times. Hold them near & dear.

Thanks for sharing.

What a nice tribute to your dad, I share my peace with you.

My dad passed away 5 years ago. He was 93 years young. I loved him so dearly and still miss him. We were so blessed to have him all these years.

May they rest in peace.

Thank you Cyn for sharing him with us.
My father passed away in Oct 2004, just a month shy of his 87th birthday. If you don't mind, I will share the toast and raise a glass to both of them tomorrow.
