Thanks Mo, good idea about tying a ribbon on it, now if I could get it to stop resetting. The buttons are on the outside and the seatbelt in my car resets it sometimes

GannieMo the weather here has become very cold, but fairly dry, so I am still walking outside. Its okay as long as its not windy or blowing rain. I go to the gym late mornings and its a time when more seniors are there. Weekends are tough, so I get in 3 or 4 days during the week generally. I'm doing well food and water wise. Full update on the H&F page. You might call the gym and find out when the older crowd comes in to feel less turned off. My problem with many of the seniors is that they often want to do more chatting than working out. They are always cautioning me not to overdo, etc. I've had to tell them that I only had a limited time to get my workout in, so that I can complete my program. lol. Keep up the battle..weight gone!

Played golf today so 12263 steps.Foodwise not doing too badly. Gave away one of the boxes of chocolates I had cached away for treat later on. My friend had gone to the Alps intending to ski. First morning bent to put on his socks and back went, pain, no skiing, no nothing. Thought the chocs would do him more good than settling on my hips.

1/19/07 GannieMo - congrats on your almost 10 pound weight loss, and also waist loss! That's great. You have really worked hard at it. YOur comments about foot pain have reminded me to get out my hiking boots & start getting used to them for our Machu Picchu trip in March. Mostly I wear sandals or tennis shoes, so my feet will need to toughen up a little.

Today I have sinned.
Yesterday a Belgian lady, fellow golfer, gave me a huge chunk of Marzipan (pâte d'amandes)hand made in Belgium and considered by her to be the best. I had to taste it. It was melt in the mouth delicious. If this was available here it could even replace chocolate in my life. More...

I have tasted many makes but this one made by a small exclusive manufacturer is, I agree with her, the best. I still have half left. Must ask Steve to hide it from me. It is safe with him, he doesn't normally like it!, but this may change his mind, oh dear, I must not eat it all.(at least not all at once

Seems we both have indulged a bit today, and that's okay. Once in a while! As long as we make allowances for it in the rest of what we eat that is. The discussions on different chocholates on the site the other day tempted me enough to purchase a 3oz bar of Scharffen Berger chocolate when I came across it at a specialty store that I was in. I only ate 1/3 of it which amounted to 160 calories since the total amount of calories in the bar is 480 calories. The chocolate was quite good, but once this bar is gone, I won't buy more. My curiosity has been satisfied. I also discovered that I lost another inch from my waist, which is far more satisfying. Glad you didn't have any bad weather experiences. Good idea to care for your skin. The water will also help in that area.

mmmmmmmmmmmm - Marzipan, I am the eater of christmas cake corners, where the marzipan is the thickest. Mo do you have the name of the manufacturer as my boss is in antwerp as we speak? Almonds are extremely nutritional by the way....

Hi Mo. I hadn't checked my page so didn't see your message. We are finally geeting some cold weather here but probably not enough to allow the Winterlude Festival to go ahead in it's normal fashion. Parts of the canal have some 14 cms. of ice so far, but Dow's Lake, where the ice sculpting normally takes place will proably not freeze over in time. Contingency is to do the ice sculpting on the Quebec side of the Ottawa river outside a casino. Great place to take your kids!

Oh Mo! Congratulations! Never EVER say 'I lost X # of Kg.' What we lose we are bound to find again. I used to say I killed X # of (in my case pounds) They are dead, never to come back! Funny how weird I became when I started changing my old eating habits. Hubby seems to think I was always weird, though.

In re: the invites to the different Flickr groups. What I have done is to bookmark (put in favorites) the pages to several groups (Impressed Beauty, Big Fave, My Winner, etc.) Whenever I want to invite a photo I copy the invite script that appears on the group's first page and voilà....
I also have Mozilla Firefox in my hubby's computer. Greasemonkey, a Firefox add-on, has a great script which, when uploaded, will allow a drop down box to appear right above the comment boxes. Then all you have to do is click on whichever group you want.
It sounds more difficult than it is - trust me.

GannieMo, You go girl! What a wonderful job you are doing. You make me proud. Thanks for your continued encouragement. Whenever I see a change in the number of comments on my page, I know that yours will be among the lastest to help spur me on. I still have half of the chocolate bar left and I'm going to treat myself over the next two weeks. After that I won't be as indulgent. Cheers

I only managed 6289 steps today as we had freezing rain all day and now it is snowing. Also Houpette my dog appears unwell. If no better in the morning we'll be off to the vet. She just wants to sleep.

You must be careful in this weather GannieMo. I slipped this evening as Jazz and I were walking, but I didn't fall. Its suppose to warm slightly for the next couple of days, and then become bitterly cold with high wind, so I too will not be outside. My walks have already slowed due to the cold. You on the other hand have been walking on. I do hope you have just tired poor Houpette, and s/he recovers soon. Please let us know.

Hi there Mo, You are a walking machine! I hope Houpette is okay, just tired, I know I would be trying to keep up with you . But I know what it is like to worry about your pet. Our dog is definately like one of my kids, heck, sometimes I like her the best . Please let us know how things go with her (?).
Judy  From San Diego
I can't believe that you are going out into the foul weather to pursue your exercise! I have no such excuse here, so I am doubly impressed with your efforts! Just please don't wear the poor dog out, OK? Keep on showing these folks that we Old Gals can be successful, too! XO

It is sleeting outside and Houpettes last walk tonight was freezing. Only 6500 steps today plus 1000 worth of indoor exercise. Don't think there will be much golf tomorrow.

I'm glad Houpette is feeling better, and you continue to do well. As LK said, you are a walking machine. I too am keeping up with things and keeping the scale going in a downward movement. I ate 1/2 of the remaining chocolate bar as a treat Monday night of the weigh-in, and I still have the last piece that will be eaten on the 29th as my final chocolate treat for sometime. I'll be glad to see it go, and not think about it. I know it would have been easier to give it away, but this way I am able to prove to myself, that I can control what goes in my mouth and when. A big lesson there. Weigh to go all!

GannieMo, Love the photo. How's the weather affecting your walks? I read where Europe was experiencing snow and ice storms, along with cold weather. It has worked its way here too. Its being forcast that we will be having temperatures in the single digits and high winds. I know it was becomming windy early this afternoon and the temps were in the high 20's but dropping. Not my cup of tea. My long walks are pretty much over altho I did get a liitle over a mile in yesterday, and a mile this morning. I'll now stay in the gym...lol!

Hi GannieMo, another nice photo. How do you know what other exercise is equivelent to in steps. Like when you say you do indoor exercise equals 1000 steps. Is there a guide somewhere? I am just wondering because I have some hand weights that I have started useing in the office when I have time and just wondered how I could use that towards steps.

Thanks

Hello; whenever you have a second let me know how your exercise is going.

I ordered a teleconverter for my camera (1.4x) and the company sent me the wrong one...I am so very upset! I was really looking forward going to Eco Pond tomorrow morning and get a bit closer to the birds nesting in the hammock....I'll have to wait a couple more weeks.

Have a good weekend!

10185 steps today. First time in a while I've topped the 10,000. I second both Mamacita and Rosemary. I know I feel better and fitter, so I'm sure everyone else does.
The first months results look good and as long as we all realise that things will level out now and accept this we'll be fine. More...

I for one don't want to go down those sizes too fast. I have clothes of all sizes in my closet that need to be worn as I pass through their sizes. Some of them have hung there for many a year and it will be nice to spend some time in their company again! I'm sure they are all back in fashion now!!!!!

13281 steps today. Keyed them into my 250,000 challenge - what do I find - my total 249,825 just 175 steps tomorrow and I've done my quarter million with 2 days to spare. Weigh in in the morning, fingers crossed

At my weigh in this morning another 0.5Kg down total gone 6.1 Kg in 4 weeks.
Weight U Go.
I also took measurements this morning and a total of 10cms(4inches) gone from my waist and 16cms(6 1/4inches) from my hips. No wonder my clothes are starting to feel comfortable.
My other achievement this morning is I have passed the 250,000 steps mark 2 days short of the month long challenge so I'm heading out towards the million.
