Welcome to my shack.

Grab a couch, glass of cool tapwater,

and watch the birds or read a book. I'll be back in a while. There's some frozen curry in the fridge, or salad greens and herbs in the garden. Might find a bottle of sav blanc in the pantry....Enjoy!!!

STERCULIACEAE Attractive, symmetrical tree 10-20m tall, occurring on Cumberland Plain in dry, clay or rocky soils. Naturalised in area where it may have been planted as a street tree, although it may also coincide with the limestone flora known at Grose Vale 'bends'. Flowering summer, large bell-shaped flowers followed by woody boat-shaped follicles 4-7cm long. Kurrajong comes from Dharuk garrajuĊ‹ "fishing line", as fishing lines were made from kurrajong bark. There is some confusion about this as Hibiscus heterophyllus is also the main fibre-producing species in the area.

I love your Flickr' photo on this page.
Haven't uploaded photos to Flickr' for a quite awhile. Keep thinking I should but it became a bit overwhelming. I do have Friends there that I miss, so one day I should go back - just avoid the joining this group or that!!!! I was such a naive novice back then!! really just wanted somewhere safe to store my photos in case of fire or flood!!!!!

Hi, Robin - and Kate:

I totally agree. I almost wrote her a personal note explaining sarcastic humor doesn't always translate well in e-talk.
Kate - Thank you for all the pictures! How does she know this isn't exactly what makes your life so wonderful!

Hello Robin
Just in answer to your query on yesterday's 'tough', no, it wasn't my photo. I've just been there before so thought I'd tell others where it was.
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers,
Anne

Hello Robin - I see you couldn't sleep either? I noticed your name on the 'friends online' while I was checking out the puzzles. Now the rain has just started as we are supposed to have thunderstorms for the rest of this week.
Cheers,
Anne

Hello Robin
I just sat down for a breather after my bike ride between showers of rain and thought I'd send you a message.
All is well over this way. We haven't had all that much rain yet but it's supposed to happen this week!!!
I'm just bought myself a bike and am trying to ride a bit each day, did about 16kms on Saturday riding to the beach and back. My feet are playing me up and the podiatrist told me to keep off them as much as possible so I thought I'd ride instead. Still playing badminton though as I can't miss that.
Take care,
Anne

This is copy & paste message about the Sudoku Easy Jigsaw Problems:
They went wild after one of Gath's changes. If you go back in the beginning (15th May 2005) & check the photos in the archives you'll find that the only jigsaw is the torso in the black jumper with the white coffee cup, you'll find that photo as the jigsaw on every Easy Sudoku page up till the 12th of January this year. I did comment on this earlier this year, but I'm usually commenting when no one's around!!!
I'd say the photos we're getting are the ones from the Easy pages that don't have a home any more! And the off sized ones are possibly the very early reward photos for finishing the Sudoku!
So I think we just have to accept that the Easy Sudoku jigsaw is going to too big or very small, more frequently than being a good size!!

Hi Robin!
Bad weather for smoke inhalation! It's bad enough in Sydney, you must be suffering a lot - smoke, fires on your doorstep.... worry..
thinking of you

On a total tangent - something I was going to tell you a while ago, but kept forgetting...
Seeing your beautiful Kurrajong flowers, reminded me - there is one in Greece - Lefkada (Island south of Greece). Several other native Australian gum trees in Corfu & various other Greek places. Not one of them looks exactly like their Aussie derivatives but.......

Hi Robin,
Glad you're getting some sleep time again!
Cold again, but we need a lot of rain to help put remaining fires out................

Hi Robin, thanks for visiting my page. Re the cow stuck between 2 trees. It got there because it forgot to look for a bigger opening. It was lying down between the trees and the fence when the quad bike went past. It jumped up, backed into another tree and then blindly went forward and got stuck!
