Glad Daughter made it safely Stella. Always a worry when they do the big trips the first time...

Cold start to the morning, warmed up by mid morning.
once stopped Gardening, had to put a jumper on, still a bit too chilly to go without..
With Perth having a Mediterranean Climate. means we have mild Winters..

however, it hasn't improved my typing ability. Apparently if you get the consonants in about the right order people can guess what you are trying to say. Suits me well, that theory. How has your day been, Gail?

I love your Buddha avatar. I have quite a penchant for statues of Buddha. My D#1 has added three to my collection. Two very happy chappies and a head in the style of Angkor Wat.

Tomorrow the girls go back to school. We didn't really do much these hols, D32 looked after her own social calendar and D#3 wasn't feeling the best through the hols, bit off-colour. She even passed up going to see Harry Potter!

I like my Buddha avatar too! Nice and cheerful. went off on an adventure courtesy of Sydney Rail who decided to repair the tracks. So they supplied buses. But bus drivers did not know where they were going. So what was meant to be a quick trip to Circular quay turned out to be a long one.

Also took a series of fungi shots. Will post them next week. I can't get over the number of different types just on our block.

So deceided to walk back (with my gammy knee)hoping to catch the local bus. it sailed past me while I was caught behind webbing out around road repairs. Anyway I got home in the end. Took a look at the pics on your page. you'll have to keep up both gardening and pics of the results. Enjoyed seeing the Perth beaches too.

I'd love you to come down. I'll be staying with friends in Dumbalk (near Leongatha) until I can manage by myself again. Do you have a dog? Merlin loves visitors, too.

the weather was OK. Cold, but no rain and I like cold wind. Can't live at Sandy Point unless you like cold wind. Did you post your Scrap story?

No, I've always been a cat person but when my son visits, he brings my granddog Robby. I have a hoot when he comes up and he loves our big yard. Its the most exercise I ever get, I'm usually knackered when he leaves!
But I love all animals, even my sister's dumb bleeping border collie that just scratched my lips open on Friday night!

Not as yet. I have a problem with story-telling. I have a tendency to make a short story long! So I probably need to word it first.

I think the tributes for Rocko were beautiful don't you. The out-pouring of grief worldwide was astounding.

Ouch! I think Merlin is part Border Collie. His mum was a Jack Russell, but he doesn't look anything like a JR. I can't keep cats now becasue I go off on teaching tours and while merlin is happy where he stays, its not so easy to leave cats behind.

Its hard to do anything when you have pets I think. In that respect I agree with you, dogs are a lot more adaptable than cats. Their noses get out of joint very easily!

Which photo format do you prefer, flickr or the gallery? I don't know anything about flickr, if it weren't for this new way of doing it, I'm not sure I would have put pics up.

It is heartwarming to know that there is so much love around. The pics of Rocco showed a very intelligent and kind animal. Merlin gets to stay with friends who have 2 teenage sons and 3 dogs and a cat. he loves it there.

i like both. On flickr it is easy to put up big pics. On the gallery I put up smaller ones that are quick to load. My sister has dial-up, so it takes ages for her to see much on Flickr. Have other friends who use flickr, too. So we get to see each others pics even tho they not SA types!

Thanks for the chat tonight, sleep well tonight. Shouldn't be any problem after your big walk home. Just how far is the institute from the Quay?
We must work out a way to swap directions closer to your return.
