OH, if you want scented, how about scented geraniums? I never grew those that did, but knew a gal that did. I do have a source for those, always did want some. Papa Geno's , I would have to look it up for the addy, but they do a big mail order business.

Do scented geraniums smell better than most geraniums? It's not my favorite fragrance.

Oops, sorry, topper, I missed your question about London. I'll try that site sometime, but not tonight. Thanks for staying and chatting with us for a while.

MizTricia we have many cented geraniums, they like tought conditions. Pikelets are small thick pancakes. Scots call them griddle scones.

Julie, yes, they are very scented, and come in many 'flavors' and they do not have huge significant flowers either, grown for thier scent. they are perenials, over winter in more zones than the --- gerenaiums.

One is a rose Geranium I know. I think it is used to make rose perfume!

Thanks Julie, it is a perfect day weatherwise, sunny, clear and warm. Going back to the scented geraniums, we have them outside doors, as well as lavender and rosemary, there is always a lovely scent wafting into the house.

For stress relief I put some scented geranium leaves, some lavender flowers, a eucaplytus leaf, some rose petals in a small muslin bag and hang it under the hot tap whilst the bath is filling. Then soak in the hot water. Bliss

That sounds so yummy! I think I'd like to have natural fragrances around the yard. But I also will need to find out if things are deer-resistant.

Lynda, that sounds good enough to convince me to give up showers for the bath.

We have never had animals eat the things mentionsed, except possums will eat rose petals. Rabbits don't eat plants that are heavily scented, maybe deer won't. Do you want to deter deer or encourage them?

We would like to deter them. They eat our hostas and most of our day lilies. We live near a forest preserve, so I don't fault the deer for coming into our yard and eating. It's just that if we are going to purchase, plant & care for things in the yard, I don't want to feel bad if they're destroyed by the deer. It just makes sense to try to plant something that doesn't invite or entice them.

I like both of your avatars. I had changed to my Illinois avatar when I commented on Nal's page. I didn't think balloons or my bright and cheery avatars were the best choice then, but I guess it's time to switch back. Where did you find your L? It's very feminine.

OK, this is a little more bright, but stays with the general blue-ness we've established.

Is there somewhere you could fence off and put the plants in pots? If deer are determined they can jump over very high fences though. Have you got a dog that would chase them away?

One guess who did my avatars for me. MizTricia sent me a selection. Nal must have been overcome with the outpouring of grief for Rocko.

Lynda, I'm not a SM. It's very aggravating to have them all change. I much prefer being able to leave them in place.

As to the deer, I think at one time our yard must have been a 'highway' for them. A couple of years ago, a doe gave birth to a fawn right beside our house. (Unfortunately we weren't home and didn't see it. In fact, by the time we got home they had both left.) We don't have a dog and aren't bothered enough by the deer eating our landscaping to put up a fence. We're just trying to be smarter when we add or replace items.

Julie, J.W. Jung Seed Co. used to sell a deer repellent used by the Forestry Service. I think they have a website.

I suppose you will also have to be careful not to poison them. Are they a protected species?
