Lynda, we have so many deer that they are starving in certain areas of Ohio. We have a hunting season each fall to thin the herds.

No, I don't think the deer are protected. In some areas in northeastern Illinois, people have even asked for permission to hunt them to reduce the population. We're not trying to get rid of the deer - just don't want to be feeding them with our landscaping so are looking for 'deer-resistant' plants.

Helped a neighbor move her stuff out of her boyfriend's house.

I remember you told us last night. I hope it went well - and didn't take the entire day. Was it a happy moving out - or were there words and feelings?

He lives a little over 60 miles away. We filled up her van. I don't where she's going to put all the stuff. I don't know all the reasons for her bringing it back, but they're still going to see each other. He and I sat and talked for about 30 min. while she started the packing. He's a nice guy.

I'm certainly glad you weren't in the middle of a great deal of animosity! I guess your neighbor is happy to be back home.

Hi girls, just a quick pop in. I'm going outside with my camera in a sec to photgraph the sages. They'll be on my page over the next few days.

She just used to go down and stay for a couple of weeks every few months. He used to live close by, but moved to be close to his brothers and to get out of the city.

Tired Becky? Moving stuff and driving can be very wearing.

I was tired when we got back. I didn't drive, but she makes me nervous. Full gas or full brake.

I can't stand it when people drive that way! I'd just rather keep my distance and keep my cool when driving. Plenty of braking time.

Same here. Just glad it's done. Tomorrow we go to my sister's. Guess it's a traveling weekend.

MINTS and SCENTED GERANIUMS information and plants for sale for fall and spring shipment can be found at www.papagenos.com

You can see many different kinds, flavors, of both. Looks like the mints are hearty to zone 4, and the scented geraniums have to be brought in or treated as annuals, only hearty in zones 8 to 10. I am a zone 7, so that leaves me out.

The Scented geraniums are listed on the left on home page, but the mints you must click on herbs, and then mints.

OH, the pineapple sage is there also.

I did it, I did it. I took the photos of the sages and put them on my page. Will research further to find the variety names but at the mo the descriptions are a little dodgy! Any questions about them, refer them to my page and I'll see what I can find out.

Good morning all! Kind of gloomy at the moment. I'm not sure if it is supposed to rain today or not but it looks like it. Nothing specific planned for today. Altho, lots of laundry to do!

Good job with the photos Gail. I'm going to investigate what I can have in this climate. Anything that flowers in the winter is a no go for outside because we usually have a couple of feet of snow on the ground. House plants don't do well in my house either because we live in the woods and there's not alot of light.

Stella, pot plants in my house do not survive, did not matter which house I lived in, put them outside.. not a problem..
Always a worry when plant sitting for mum or mil when they go on holidays

STella, have you heard from Daughter, how is the driving going.. has she arrived at the destination

Rola, that's a lovely garden. It looks so lush! The flowers are beautiful. Can you come and do mine, please! In a t-shirt in the middle of winter, it's rare that we can do that in the fall here! Do you get a lot of vacationers seeking the warm climate in winter? Most people here head south at one point or another in the winter. They should build a Disneyland near Perth.

Yes, D#1 arrived safely last night, thanks. It took her almost 5 hours but at least she go there. She'll be leaving for Cape Cod in Massachusetts on Monday morning. But there will be 3 cars (I think) travelling together and her roommate will ride with her. I think they are going into New York City today to pick up some of the other kids. They're not driving though, they're taking the train.

Of course none of them are truly experienced drivers. They're only 19 so they can't have that much experience. But hopefully, going as a group will help and if they get lost, at least they'll do it together.

I should finish getting ready for church. I want to go early so can do what we want later.
