We have nasal sprays, but I don't use them. I don't get rashes, thank goodness.
Did you mean 'timber'? If so, yes, we have a lot of timber, but not big, old growth timber. Pulp wood is the name of the game around here. Got to keep the world in paper.

We have nasal sprays here, too. I don't recognize the name Beconaze. I have tried several and found one that helped this winter when allergies were so bad, but I'm not using it now. I prefer to control with just oral medication, if possible. Nasal sprays tend to be drying, and I use a CPAP machine for sleeping, which also is drying. If I need to use the nasal spray for very long, I tend to get nose bleeds.

Do you have poison ivy & poison oak in Australia? Since it's quite prevalent here, if I'm walking in wooded areas, I only wear long pants and shoes with socks.

I think it is good that you don't fully liscence drivers until they are eighteen, but it is hard to imagine a college student without a driver's liscence.

the boys will have to share the little Toyota car we bought 3 1/2yrs ago.
#1 son pays for the cost of running the car. He will be buying his own car soon, after his 21st party in a few weeks, Hubby and #1 will go looking.
Then #2 son will be pay for the cost of the running the car and the sole use of.. Meanwhile he catches the bus to Uni.

Lynda both boys go to Curtin University, in Bentley
about a 20 minute drive from home, by bus - 50 mins catching 2 buses.
#1 son is taking this semester off, having a break. he has 18 months left of the 5 years. He will go back next year Semester 1 on part time, and finish the course over 2 years..

I just looked up grevillea in wikipedia - a very pretty plant. Are they not desirable around a home?

Ruby, I agree with you about the age for fully licensing a driver. It seems that 16-year-old drivers in the US have MANY accidents.

Do most uni students in Oz live at home & commute to uni? Here it seems that is true only of 'community or junior' college, usually 2 years leading to an 'associate' degree. It seems like most students at a 4-year type of college live in dorms on campus (especially freshmen), or if older get an apartment or off-campus living arrangement.

Rola, what program of study (major) are your boys pursuing?

Hi, Cyndi! How are you? Yes, CPAP machine has heated humidifier, which certainly helps. My first machined died this spring. Repairs & labor were going to be over $500, so got a new one instead.

Hi Cyndi how's things? Ruby is that viable to tie up land for so many years for a fixed cost? $30 an acre per year doesn't seem a lot. Julie we have about 40 different grevilleas about the place, some are best avoided. The native birds love them though. Rola our public transport system is hopeless.

Julie Perth is quite a small place, it is not far to any of the Universities, Colleges or Trade Schools. (except Agricultural college). It is a whole lot cheaper to live at home with mum doing the cooking and washing and ironing for many students. We do have a lot of overseas students that live in.

Linda, how else will you get $6000 a year for doing nothing? Once they are planted you don't have to do anything, and the land is spent from over a hundred years of corn, cotton and tobacco -- all crops that deplete the soil.

IL is in middle of US; one child attended uni in an eastern state; one in a western state. We had costs of dorm, food service & transportation to & from. By graduation, both needed to have a car to get around.

#1 son - Double Degree : Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems), Bachelor of Science (Computer Science).
#2 son - Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) - 4 year course

Sinus problem, yes. Rain, no.

Cyndi - have had lots of sinus problems, but luckily not continuous sinus infections! I try to wash mask & tubing frequently. Didn't know until I got new machine how frequently thing should be replaced. Was told mask, hose, reservoir for water should be replaced every 6 months. How often do you wash and/or replace?

Don't you two use distilled water?

Ruby, I always use distilled water, but was told when I got the new machine that mask, hose & reservoir should be replaced every 6 months & cleaned at least every week.

Julie: I try to at least rinse hose, reservoir and tubing every other day or daily if I can. I haven't replaced the machine in 2 yrs; the warm humidifier is ony about 8 mos old, the hoses were new with the warm humidifier; and I've tried so many different masks that they've been replaced often!
Ruby: B'ham had heavy downpours several times.

Always use distilled water. What do you wash/rinse with? I use white vinegar.

Perth is quite easy to get around using a car, we live in an outer area and it only takes us 30 to 40 mins to get to the centre of the city. Public transport leaves a lot to be desired. It is fine along the major corridors, useless if you want to cross corridors.
