And I've missed Cyn again! Oh, well! I'm off in the hopes of getting some sleep tonight. (I tried using my C-PAP machine last night for the first time in 3 weeks - thought my cold & cough were enough better. Well, 10 minutes proved I was wrong, so off came the mask.)

Positive thoughts, , prayers and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all of you and your families and friends in need!

Well, Suzy, you snuck one in on me and I wasn't prepared for a TOPP. Today there is a sense in the air that your heart is free to start pumping to full capacity. Use it well.

Suzy - I do agree with you about the big house requiring a cleaner to come with it!
In a previous life, I had a huge house, kids at school and was working full-time so I had a cleaner come in every Friday. It was so lovely to start the weekend with a clean house, freshly made beds and all the ironing done!
However I would not swap the last 26 years with Col for any of that!

Missed you again, Julie! You mentioned my avatar. My absolute favourite flowers are yellow roses so when I found this, I had to make it into an avatar! I know different colour roses have different meanings but I don't care - I just love the yellow ones!

Meant to say - I always have at least one yellow rose bush in my garden. The present one isn't much good and needs replacing, but the one I had at my previous house, had it for 14 years and it was prolific!

Heidi, that had to be D G, right? Same sale here. I thought I found Al one of those flannel shirt jackets, for $2, but they only had 2X and 3X sizes, too big for him.

Cyn, good call on postponing the trip. I hate big dump trucks no matter if they carry dirt, gravel or coal. Two sets of family members have tangled with them and the results were life changing in both cases. If you can avoid them in bad weather, do by all means.

Congrats to the new tradie, hope the party was a great success.

Rolanda, hope your son has a safe trip home, the meeting sounds impressive.

JULIE, shhhh, do not tell anyone, but now that my pain block has been approved, my back is much better. Pain went from a sometimes 9 with nausea, down to a 5 or 6, and that is manageable. But yes I will still get the pain block, I can tell, just one false move and it will be back at a 9 again. Pain of that level is not fun, not at all.

I had a 4 hour nap today, must have needed it. Was a bit late for a hubby feeding, but he said that was OK. He had real food, pulverized and in the tube, earlier and said it was very filling. Gonna get his tummy accustomed to real food so when he can swallow, all will be well. Sometimes I wonder where he gets some of the numbers he talks about. He said today it might be 90 days fore his throat is healed and ready for him to swallow. I have not heard that, I think he made this up. He is really dragging his feet about eating gain, and I must find what the real reason is,

Joy came down tonight. When BIL was here today, he left an end table and a set of flatware for Joy. The idea had been for him to drop it off at her apartment, he drives really close coming down here. Not sure what happened, he just came in here with it. So I phoned Joy and invited her down for dinner and get her table. she was so excited to get both.

Julie, the eagle cam is mentioned often on our local news. they said 3 days ago, the eggs were ready to hatch on 4/1 or 4/2. So must not be April Fools Joke.

Suzy, houses can come with a cleaner??? Sign me up for one of those, please

Been busy, it was our BBQ night at the bowls club and I was buying some of the things and making the cold slaw for 70 people. it was a great night.
Our team won the bowls yesterday but our partners lost by more than we won so overall the side lost. That is the end of that competition and we came in second, I think. Not good enough!

Nola, congratulations for your son becoming a 'tradie'. I am sure the party is a success.
I am sure Al's interest in food will come back when he gets his taste back. How interesting to have to chew a nice piece of meat if you cannot taste it.
Tami, my cat likes to wake me up at that time. I have the advantage that I can then spend some time here.....then sleep in in the morning!

Morning all. Slept like a log last night. So much better to face the day this way.

MizT, so glad the epidural is approved.

Good luck with the party, Victoria. I'm hoping to make those scarves for the grandies when I get a chance.

Could someone repost the link for the eagles for me? Please and thanks.

JUNE, I think AL would prefer no taste to the terrible taste he has now. He says everything tastes so terrible, if he ate now, he could not enjoy that food ever again later when this bad taste was gone. Said he would always associate that terrible taste with that food, much like if you ever get REALLY sick from some food. I did not eat hot dogs for years, and my sister cannot eat any seafood to this day, both from a bad food poisoning we each had. Sorry your team lost at bowls, but you are always a winner, dear.

I have resisted the eagle cam, and I have unlimited internet access, so would not eat up my allowance. It would eat up my time, and not enough of that to go around at the moment.

neighbor boy is out of school today and he is wanting to cut grass. Grass could use it, but 2 problems, it rained last night and grass is still too wet to cut, and Al is asleep, having a nap today. Joy stayed much too long last night, and I had to wake him at 9 for his meds, he could probably use another couple hours sleep. I really should remind her she must be out of here by 10 pm so he can get to sleep. he needs 10 to 13 hours sleep at night now, so he can recover. That last round of chemo, then pneumonia and everything low, BP, potassium, iron, and red blood cells really sapped him of a lot of energy, it will take a while to recover that.

Cute Joy story, she was telling us about a letter to her boss, who had asked her opinion about a report she did, was the outcome worth the effort, she was rattling on, and said "it is laborious and blah blah", I do not remember what. then she said, "you noticed I used the word laborious, I try to use it as often as I can. Remember, that was the word that lost me the spelling bee in 6th grade. I will now always remember how to spell that word and I use it every chance I get. " BTW, she won in her school, this was regional spelling bee that she lost, a big deal .

Where is Heidi this morning? I do not recall her saying she had to be away this morning. I will be getting my pain block one week before you. Interesting that both our docs visit our area on Wednesday.

I got even less sleep than AL did last night, think a nap is in order for me. It is nice, isn't it June, to be able to catch up on lost sleep daytime, either sleeping in for you or taking a nap for me. Well, we are OLD, and by gosh, we deserve a few special privileges.

Hugs to all and extras for any who need or want more.

Thanks for the link, June. I have missed this site. We go to the post office every day, but two weeks seems like a long time to wait. BUT I received a valentine card from my sister last week that she mailed early in February, and she lives in the same province as I do. I will keep you posted.

Just finished watching a scary movie with D and made her some lunch. She is now lying down for a nap.

Great Idea Suzy. Do you only get 15 minutes worth? I remember doing that in NY and saying to hubby "hit send, hit send" and next the 15 minutes were up and it disappeared.
They say it could take up to 46 hours for the eaglet to get out of the egg. Just saw her turn the eggs and the 48 hours looks right on schedule. (could not even see the pip)

Just checked on the eagle. Don't know if it is mom or dad but one of them was fixing the nest a little. Eagle got up and I was able to see the egg. The hole is a little bigger and I saw something sticking out. May have been a tiny feather.

It is getting dark by the eagles now. I will go look again tomorrow.

Nite-nite. I am going to sleep. Devil dog had me up at 3 am to take him out. Better to lose some sleep than clean a mess in the morning.

Good Evening, Folks!

Suzy, you are a good detective! I couldn't think of anything for the TOPP plus one, so jumped over to the horoscope and borrowed a sentence!

Cyn, my husband would occasionally buy me a yellow rose before we were married. Because I was always appreciative, he thought they were my favorite flower. To make a long story short, my bridesmaids, maid of honor and I all carried a yellow rose when we got married, and they all wore yellow dotted Swiss dresses. Of course, I later found out that yellow is an awful color for MANY people. My apologies to them!

Ah, the idea of a nice-sized house complete with someone to clean it and clean sheets on the beds each week without me doing it. Seems like a dream!

MizT, good advice about avoiding dump trucks, whether full or empty, no matter the weather! I won't tell a soul that your pain is somewhat lessened. You're right to follow through when the slightest wrong move could take you back to the 9 and nausea! I wonder if Al is just using the 90-day idea about being healed enough to eat so that he won't be too discouraged if it takes longer than he hopes to be able to swallow comfortably. I'm glad Joy was able to come down for dinner and to pick up the end table and flatware! It was probably good for her and Al to see each other.

I've been checking in on the eagles today. It now says that a hatch is imminent. I think that means it could come at any time - or not. At least one of the eggs had pipped earlier, but one comment said it could take anywhere from 4 hours to 48 hours for the eaglet to crack the egg all the way around. If I see anything tonight before I go to bed or tomorrow morning, I'll post to let you know.

Tami, I'm so sorry Devil Dog decided to get you up so early! I bet you're exhausted by now! Do you have Saturday school tomorrow? If so, you won't be able to try to sleep in a bit. Thank goodness for an early release day!

Broni, that's no fun to bring home work to do at home! You must be keeping very busy! How is Possum? How is his Mum doing?

June, I'm glad your team won at bowls, but too bad your partners lost by such a big margin. Better luck next time. I hope the BBQ was a huge success!

I'm amazed that several of you are having luck getting into chat at the eagles site. I must have tried 15 or more times during the course of the day & finally got in to make 1 comment before I had to leave the house.

Thersa, hurray for you for having a good night's sleep. Crossing fingers for many more nights like that! It sure makes the following day easier to deal with!

MizT, of course, I had forgotten that it's not just a case of being able to swallow for Al, but even more importantly, the taste of the food. Thinking positive thoughts that he will be able to swallow and will enjoy the taste of food around the same time, and that it will be sooner than the 90 days he mentioned! BTW, you already need to have the grass mowed? Wow! I enjoyed your Joy story!

Oops, my post was too long again tonight.

(I'm sorry for misspelling your name earlier, Theresa!) I'm glad you and your D were able to watch your scary movie and enjoy lunch together today! A long day for you when you add in making dinner and helping get the grandies ready for bed! Wow, a CT scan scheduled for 7:20 at night! Must be a very busy place!

Heidi, maybe you've spent part of today watching the eagles? I popped in at one time, and there were over 130,000 people watching. There are still over 70,000 watching, and it's 10:30 p.m. and Mama Eagle is sleeping with her head tucked under her wing.

Suzy, very clever to use Macca's free WIFI to watch the eagles!

Apparently Bob who controls the eagle cam remotely must have spent quite a bit of time today zooming in and panning for people to get good views. What a great site. When I finally got into the chat, one person said how great it would be if each of the 130,000 people viewing would send in $1 to the Raptor Resource Program. I certainly would show support and gratitude for what they do!
