Success!! I got my husband and D#2 to have a look because I wouldn't believe it until someone saw her dancing anti-clockwise. D#2 sees clockwise, husband did at first, then she switched. While standing off to the side watching them, I saw her switch too!! She's back to clockwise now...

I have seen the image you are referring to, Suzy and after looking at her for long enough, I can make her change directions at will! I found that if I concentrated on her outstretched leg for long enough, I can determine a different direction!
BTW Having just looked at her again through your link, I can only see her going clockwise now!

Wind building up here and possible storms. I'm feeling virtuous having cut the grass, and also exhausted. Getting fit is a slooooow process.

made a new friend who plays classical piano. We've challenged each other to polish up a piece, so I've changed my avatar in honour of the occasion.

OK. I'm talking to myself again. After discovering how my piano skills have badly deteriorated, I'm out to the garden for simple stuff like raking up the weeds I cut earlier.

You're destroying my self-fulfilling prophecy, Gail! Windy at your place too?

No, not windy but very thundery. It's actually quite pleasant outside, almost balmy. The rain has just started to fall again. Ahh, bless the rain!

No rain here, other than an occasional drop. No rumblings from the clouds. My activity level has dropped back to zero again. Bought some seedlings yesterday and I'm hoping it will rain before I plant them. By the way, the cuttings you gave me are doing well.

Excellent news about the cuttings dino. Whenever I look at the pic of Merlin in your front yard, I am reminded that I forgot to grab a cutting from the scented geranium. Definitely a reason to pop down again soon.
There have been about thirty two drops of rain, so it's the most we've had for ages! I can hear the garden rejoicing.
Are you considering coming to the Melbourne get-together?

I've been skim-reading posts and have missed the Melb get together. When and where? Chopped down some of the scented geranium with the whipper snipper, but there's lots there and the garden smelt nice afterwards! Mind you, I didn't intend to do that. I need an L-plate for the w-s.

BTW, while chatting here I'm also looking up next G mobile phones for rural areas. Telstra makes them sound good, but most feedback is not so good. Do you have any experience with them?

Just changed to over to nextG because I was on their old CDMA system which will be obsolete as of early next year. I stuck with a Nokia phone as I find then the simplest to use. (It has to be simple for me to be able to use it!) The one I got is the Nokia 6120 Classic. It seems to do everything I want, which is make ph calls, send msgs and now I even have a camera. What I don't need is all the net stuff but unfortunately, that comes as standard these days. So far, I have had no trouble with coverage, which is their main selling point for nextG. Hope that helps.

Hi Gail and Dino, I looked at the Melbourne Christmas Bash but but I do not think we will be in Melbourne that weekend. Not sure what our Melbourne lot are doing for christmas and if they are not coming up we will go down at some stage.

Thanks. My son has one and it even works under my verandah which is a huge improvement on the CDMA coverage. The Nokia has a good reputation, but I would need to be on $30 plan and I don't use my phone a lot. There is a Samsung on a $20 plan.

Hi June. Do you have any knowledge of next G? It looks as though Telstra is the only option. Or maybe I should wait till after the election since Rudd is pushing the need for good internet communication

Ah I see, yes, I am on the $30 plan. Didn't even take that into consideration! I haven't had a Samsung but hubby has. It was a while ago and he called it bullet proof because it was his first flip phone but it had an aerial that would catch every time he took it out of his pocket and it would land on the floor! Still works, son has it now. Oldest daughter has one at the mo but hers would be a little more yuppier than the one on offer. Hubby says she's the one to ask but she's not home so will ask her later.

Dino I have the simplest Nokia pre paid I could buy. I can never hear it ring and when I go to use it it generally has a flat battery or the money has expired. If I am about to be contacted for any reason I keep the phone in my hand!!!
My sil has just acquired a new phone with internet connection and she has had that disabled because the cost for that service is very expensive and costly if you accidently push the wrong button.

Good thinking 99. Must contact Telstra re net disconnection because it is directly connected to one of the buttons! The number of times I have done it!
Yes, I too was devastated when I had to change over. My previous phone and I understood each other perfectly! I wanted a phone and that's all it wanted to be.

The internet connection on the phones is 10x the cost of ADSL. My son and dil had the same problem and found themselves accidentally connection to the internet.

Dino, I looked at your radar map and it does not seem too promising. Ours shows rain over the Blue Mountains so we may get a shower later.

Gail go to mirror.bom.gov.au/products/ etc and you should be able to find the radar images. I have the Sydney one on favourites so we can see if a storm is coming.

my favorite weather site is http://www.weatherzone.com.au/ You can get a desktop widget which updates regularly. Only sunshine here, so don't know where the rain has got to. Any problems with the forecast? My son is on duty at Melbourne BOM today, so I presume they're his!
