Glad you and yours liked the peach cake. I made the peach cheesecake Friday. It wasn't overly rich or sweet. I found another recipe for cheesecake and will make it later this week.

Two contradictory proverbs are coiled in the grid below. To spell them out, start with one letter and move to an adjacent letter in any direction. (Hint: Start with an "L.")

L K B F E Y O E

O O E O R U L A

H W E H T U B P

O H T A E I L T

E S I T S S O S

Stella, DPI is the Gov dept which I have to ring to get a date for my son to have his driving test. They are WAY understaffed and you have to keep ringing to jag a cancellation. Annoying way to spend a day or two!

they reduced the age at which you can apply and didn't employ any more testers so the waiting list has blown out of control

Brenda, just answering your query re school fees. I send my children to the public (state run) school. Long gone are the days when children are provided with 'free' education as it was known in 'the good old days'. They say that a portion of the fees are voluntary, but there is a compulsory payment each year. Generally the fees for high school are around the $300 mark (which includes the voluntary portion) plus some of the subjects require an extra payment eg technical studies, home ec, etc. On top of this, we have to BUY the text books every year and their stationery!
On the other hand, I know of some people who send their kids to 'private' school, which costs them thousands of dollars a year.

I'm back again. Anyone around? Yes, I did get down onto the beach again. I've worked out a downhill hop with the crutches. The only problem is that I have to get back up the track again. Maybe I should put Merlin on the lead and get him to drag me up. Hehehe . he'd probably just sit down wondering what he is supposed to do!

Have you thought about roller-blades, Dino?!!!

Roller blades would get stuck in the soft sand. Maybe we could design skis for sand instead of snow.

But then there is still the problem of getting uphill. I need a chair lift.
