Theresa, Muslim and Jewish dietary laws are similar including the ritual slaughter of animals for consumption. Not something I want to witness.
Rolanda, glad you gave all the details of your trip. I also like to hear all the juicy details of my friends.

Heidi and anyone else who has large dog(s) which are a challenge to load. Check out:
http://www.petstep.com/petstep-dog-ramp.htm

I have one that replaced another brand. The first was carpeted, to "improve footing". While it worked well, the PetStep is better. It has rubber ridges that provide a far superior foot grip for my dogs, especially when they are going down (the claws can't grip). The ONLY negative is the possibility of pinching a hand / finger when opening or closing. Because I was warned reading others reviews, I have never had this happen to me.

Maggie & "J.R." are 11 years old now. Maggie has arthritis, and "J.R." is an amputee (missing left hind).

Hope this helps someone.

It doesn't bother me to watch the muslims at work. Blood doesn't upset me. ( If it did, I would have had a breakdown when Cole had his bleeding problem.) The muslims do not let the animals suffer at all. It's quick and painless. I just don't enjoy being around them because of their attitudes towards women. I am NOT a second class citizen!

Theresa, I like the last guess hehehe. You guessed so well, I cannot think of anything good to guess.

Well, I did get meals for this week done, or almost done. A huge pot of spaghetti sauce, will have it regular and then baked spaghetti casserole ( kind of like Lasagna) I also have started beef curry. Have the meat cooked, will cook onions and add those and celery and pineaple later today. My house is smelling yummy!

OH, I have a cake recipe for ya to try and please, do try it, even though it sounds weird. It is fast, easy and delicious.

Spray an 8x8 glass baking dish with cooking spray and set aside. In a bowl put one box of cake mix, and then pour one can of diet soda over it. Stir by hand till mixed, but do not over stir. Pour into the baking dish, and microwave on hi power for 12 minutes.

Cool and ice if desired, store in fridge

I used a Pillsbury sugar free devils food cake mix and a diet coca cola, but there are many many variations. With light cakes use lite colas, dark cakes use a dark cola. I want to try a Dr Pepper with a caramel cake, that just sounds good to me!

I was told this is a weight watchers recipe, but I do not know the count.

I like the last guess best, too, but no.... I just posted some grainy pictures of the sunroom on my page. Next time, I use a better camera.

Sunroom looks great Heidi. I could easily enjoy a cup of coffee while sitting in there. The birds would be a nice background. LOVE the butterfly pictures.

Beautiful, Heidi! It would be so nice to sit there on a sunny day, rainy day, snowy day, no matter what the weather. It does look very roomy.

I am a happy person. Miami Dolphins just beat the Buffalo Bills 15-10 in football. I work with a really big Buffalo fan and I am going to wear a Dolphin jersey tomorrow. Nothing like rubbing it in her face

I know, I have to cause trouble.

It is so cool out today. I actually had to close all the windows for the first time since spring. I just want to curl up under a blanket (maybe in Heidi's sun room).

Morning all!
Rolanda, you answered all the questions - but only just! My curiosity is not satisfied at all!!

Heidi, you've mentioned the slaughtering of the goats before - could it have been a whole year ago??? Yikes! I hope there are other holidays in between...

June, your weekend sounds absolutely fantastic! How wonderful of the owner to take you on a tour of the property! I'm really happy for you!!

Tami, I am in awe of the way you say you are feeding 10 as if it was easy. Work, but easy.

MizT, I don't like those weeks either. I hope it isn't too tiring and we get to see some of you!

If hubby is out and I don't know where he is or what time he will be home it means we have had an argument. Otherwise it has never been a problem.

Suzy... there are numerous holidays during which muslims come here to slaughter goats and sheep. It's a lot rarer for them to do cattle here. I have to assist then.

OMG. I open the news and there is my home town! Well, the place I lived from 1972 to 1981 anyway. A car has been rear-ended and pushed off a bridge. They were travelling south so they were on the old bridge which has "sides". I can't work out how it could have happened.

HEIDI, love the sun room, wonderful!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I did not see a nice easy chair though, do you have one out there?? For the curling up with a book? Are you even a reader? Now that i think, I have not heard you say. I know you love old movies and videos, but books??? Nosey friend again.

I need to make a dessert now, the cola cake I made last week will not last another. Hubby really likes it, been getting double helpings!

Oh, yes, I'm a reader, but I prefer reading in bed. There is a big, stuffed easy chair on the other side of the sliding door to the sunroom, with a reading light overhead.
I haven't finished organizing the sunroom yet. IH hasn't given me the drawers to the desk yet, so it's facing the wall just being used for a work table. I'm also going to put up plant hangers and hang a bunch of the orchids.

Heidi, I am not comfy reading in bed. I prefer reading in my recliner, with the living room door opened ( have a glass storm door) and all 3 windows with blinds opened. I have windows on 2 opposite sides, makes for lovely amount of light. My almost sun room, except when hubby wants to watch TV, then blinds and curtains have to close. bummer.

Suzy, actually the 10 I will be having for dinner is not a problem. Only have to cook the kugel which I will make one night during the week and freeze. The blintzes I will make late Saturday afternoon, timed to take out of oven to serve. Everything else I either have to slice or open a jar. Easy. The only thing else I have to do is boil the eggs for deviled eggs and that is easy also. This is actually an easy dinner to prepare. I will use paper plates to make clean up even easier.

Good Morning Tami, Jerry, Brenda, Theresa,
MizT, Zusy and Rolanda!

Heidi your sunroom looks magnificent, so light and airy. Is that a bathtub I see through the window outside?

No, that's a barbeque grill. I haven't found a new place for it since I turned the patio into a sunroom. I'll have to pour a new concrete patio.

We have some big shade trees that serve the same purpose.

Problem with shade trees is they take a long long long time to grow. Builders here like to completely level a block before building so you have to grow your own - unless your lucky enough to have a council who won't let them. And if you own a house old enough to have big shade trees around, the chances are they've fallen down, often on the house.

I know what you mean, Suzy. The neighborhood I am in is only about 15 years old. I am the original owner of my house. Palm trees do not offer much shade. The other trees they planted have not grown that big yet. Another problem here is that when they get tall they get a special trim to make them hurricane resistant. They cut a lot of branches out of the middle so the wind can go through and hopefully not blow them over. I do not like how they get cut but have no choice. I actually think it is a county ordinance.

It is just after 11:30 and I am supposed to be sleeping. I could not fall asleep so I came downstairs to watch tv and grade some papers hoping that would put me to sleep. Mitchell left his computer downstairs and it was very tempting.
