Cleaning Poem
I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'Computering',
And I had to answer 'Yes.'
He told me to get off my fanny,
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my Mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick....
I was just admiring my good work.
I didn't mean to 'Click.'
But Click, I did, and oops - I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into it -
I was into it All Night.
Nothing's changed except my Mouse.
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess.....
While I sit here on my hiney.

Morning all,
Yep, lived up to his inconsiderate reputation. I am glad because of the alternative, but also annoyed for you Heidi.
MizT, that rings bells here too. I would have bet that you had put it up a long time ago. Go figure.

Theresa, I love the poem. I think I am going to have to copy it and put it in a frame. My house is always a mess.
Isn't it amazing how we have such accurate memories when something so tragic happens. I remember exactly what I was doing when the Challenger shuttle blew up and when Columbia blew up. My mom says she remembers exactly what she was doing when she first heard of the JFK assassination. I also remember exactly how I found out John Lennon died.

Just made a snack for hubby, garlic butter spread on baked potato skins and broiled.
Quiet Saturday/Sunday.
Heidi, I would be some upset if my hubby did that.

You want to hear the kicker???? His explanation for not calling me? "I didn't want to wake you up. I was just thinking of you." For being missing for 21 hours?????

Why would I want to? If he actually DID disappear, I might be able to find him that way. I'd rather that he remain missing.

Hello to everyone in Sudokuland!
Hi, Heidi, Judy, Bean, Suzy, V Viv, Theresa, Gail, MizTricia, and Tami!
Judy, you're so right that the world changed 9 years ago with the attacks in New York! I think we lost some of our innocence. It seems that there is more evil in the world now - or is it just because we're more aware of it?
Bean, it's great to see you here posting! Thank you for sharing the news about the new baby! I'll go check the link after turning the page. (I don't want to lose this post.)
Suzy, I'll need to check your link, as well. Is this the imam who was able to talk the Florida minister out of burning the copies of the Koran?
Theresa, I'm glad you had a nice day, weather-wise! That was a good plan to go grocery shopping before the rainy days return! I hope the new vacuum cleaner took care of the pet hair!
Gail, I'm glad your hubby was able to join you, but so sorry that his treatment lasted so late because of it!
MizT, I didn't even notice at first that you were logged in as your previous self. Hope to see you later!
Heidi, I'm wondering if the thunder-boomer which moved in quickly had to do with the weather, or the way you felt about the inconsiderate behavior. At least you are no longer left wondering.
Theresa, I liked the cleaning poem!
Tami and Heidi, I agree. Theresa's snack for her husband sounds yummy!
Heidi, why are we NOT surprised at his inconsiderate behavior, his lame excuse, and his befuddlement that you would consider that he was in the wrong? If it should ever happen again, perhaps you could wait until you were quite sure he was asleep and call and wake him with a great deal of worry and concern in your voice.

Hi folks... I wonder if I will ever catch up with what has been happening in my absence...I've adopted a somewhat different approach to catching up...I'm catching up in reverse order. I wonder if I will get back to where I went MIA before a new SA starts...
I don't seem to have time to fit in more than a page or two at a time. The good thing about doing it this way is that it is like reading the ending of a book first... I know that the invalids are recovering but are yet to discover what ailed them...
A very interesting slant on life!!
Catch you later.
Need to do some hunting and gathering or something before my stomach rumblings wake Lachie!!

Good morning everyone ... a rainy Sunday here. I did manage to have a quick half-cup of coffee outside before it started.
Heidi, the tracking device would be more as a warning to you that he was nearby.
Broni, glad your birthday was a good day!
If we have potatoes for a meal, it's almost always baked potatoes. I freeze the skins for a snack for hubby at a later date. Quick and simple.
Rolanda, it's nice to get away once in a while. Is your caravan all you hoped it would be?
Off to do some ffuts ... maybe I'll start with cleaning the "mouse".

Good morning all. Hubby is about to go play softball and kids are enjoying their video games leaving me a few minutes of quiet.
Bean, don't worry about catching up. Just having you back with us is worth it. If you read Julie's posts, she does a good job of summarizing what has been going on.
Broni, glad you had a great birthday celebration.

Good evening. I have had a wonderful weekend. Yesterday I went to the auction of our old family property which we sold 10 years ago. The property did not reach the reserve but the owner drove me and Belinda (who was with me) all over the place to see all the improvements he had done. brought back all my childhood memories. Then today I was one of the 8,000 who visited Kirribilli and Admiralty houses. They are the Sydney homes of the Prime Minister and the Governor General and sit on a prime position on the shores of Sydney Harbour. They are seldom open to the public. It was a beautiful day and the Harbour sparkled.
I then know how Heidi felt as mine had spent the morning at the bowling club. I came home as early as I could so we could spend the afternoon together and he had been home but gone out again and did not get back again till late. No note and I still have not been told where he was and I will not ask again!!!!

Tami, I can think of worse things, you could have to take Heidi's Hubby
what a lovely way to celebrate your birthday, know you will enjoy. And enjoy your bit of quiet.
Theresa, when I eat a baked tater, I eat skins and all, so no planned over for sncks here. Sometimes I enjoy sitting on porch in the rain, if it is not blowing in too bad.Love the smell of a rain, don't you? Just on my first cup here with all of you, but perhaps I can get out for a couple minutes if it is not too hot.
Rolanda, How did the caravan sleep and cook and was it hard to pull behind the ute? Could you find things you had stored away? Did you need the heat at nights? How was the weather? Nosey friends need to know all about it .

BEAN, so glad you have come back to post, we have missed you so very much. How is your garden faring now? and how is Lachie? Reading Julies posts will catch you up on folks. and to make things easier, I am recovering from a joint replacement in my thumb, after 4 and 1/2 months, and stooping so much of the therapy they insisted I do, it is now gaining strength and I can use it again. I can now type two-handedly without even thinking about it, can open zip lock bags, use a can opener and tear open packets of artificial sweetener, turn my stove on and off with that hand. things that bugged the bejesus out of me before.

My hubby too goes off somewhere without telling me or leaving a note, but he's not usually gone for hours on end. Most times he leaves me a note because in the past I've gotten really upset with him over that. They can be so exasperating.
MizT, hubby eats his tater skins, but I don't usually. So I freeze mine. Yes, I like the rain, especially the sound of it on a metal roof like over our bedroom. We don't have a patio area with an overhang, so can't really sit out in it. Plus it's just too darn cool right now.

I'm back for a minute. Looking up a few recipes and getting the dreaded list ready for the errands I need to run today. Will be having 10 for dinner on Saturday for the next Jewish holiday. I am doing all dairy as it is a "break the fast" Yom Kippur is a 24 hour fast so you don't want a heavy meal. Bagels, lox, cream cheese and all the toppings. I also make a noodle kugel (a baked noodle dish with cheese in it) and I am making a blintz casserole. A blintz is like a Jewish crepe. I use the ones stuffed with cheese. They can be fried and eaten as is. I make mine into a casserole with a sour cream batter poured over it and then baked. This is not a holiday for the health conscious.

I was reading MizT's comment to Tami about taking hubby along, and cracked up laughing. IH heard me, and asked me what the joke was.
My advice to
Bean? Don't bother catching up to everything. You never will. If there's something mentioned that you don't understand, just ask.

Tricia, so inquisitive....
"How did the caravan sleep" ( well )
"and cook" ( did as little as possible)
"and was it hard to pull behind the ute" ( P said it towed easily behind the 'car')
"Could you find things you had stored away" (I did, Peter had trouble finding things)
"Did you need the heat at nights" (oh yes, Friday Night was brrrr, Saturday Night not so brrrr )
How was the weather (sunny, a little rain Sat afternoon, lot of rain/wind overnight Saturday, Today, cold, windy, sunny. Supposed to be really brrr tonight, forcast min 2C ).
Nosey friends need to know all about it

Paper work again this weekend, then a full week of being out and about each day. NOT what I want to do! If I am lucky and nothing else comes up, I might have Friday at home. I really should do a couple of large planed over meals today, so we have something when we come home.

Heidi, IH would never understand the joke, which makes it even funnier. The funny thing about my birthday celebration is that my hubby's is the next day. We always celebrate both for 2 days. This year happens to be sat/sun. We start celebrating mine and switch to his at midnight. A few years ago we were all turning 40. My husband is the oldest, by 1 year. He is Oct, friends hubby is Feb, she is May and then I end it in Oct. We wanted to go away somewhere in the middle to celebrate all 4. Did not get the chance so we went away on the sat/sun of my/hubby birthday. All day sat. my friend made sure that everyone knew it was my birthday and that I was turning 40. I made sure that every one knew she was older (by 5 months) We went to an Irish pub for dinner/drinks and she made sure the DJ knew it was my birthday and how old I was. At midnight, I went to the DJ and asked him to play happy birthday for hubby. He looked at me strange and said I thought it was your birthday. I said it was, but it was now sunday and his birthday instead and that he was now 41. The whole pub laughed when they found out how close our birthdays are. He is 364 days older than me.
