Reading on page 585 now. It's been a quiet day so far.

Hi, Suzy, Broni, CynB, Gail, Brenda, Theresa, Tami, June, Heidi, Suzanne and MizTricia!

Suzy, so glad you have another day under your belt! Too bad it was at a rough school, but luckily you got students well-trained by their teacher, so they were a handful, but not too bad. At least one who was cheeky! I'm glad you didn't fall for it! Lovely teachers means that they were available to answer questions and help you find whatever you needed but couldn't find. I hope your dinner last night acknowledging the woman who was retiring was yummy and fun! Thanks for wishing me a bit of a sleep-in! Luckily, I was able to sleep later than any other day this week, so I'll count it as a sleep-in!

Broni, with luck the rain has subsided - and with it the humidity! It's too bad the computers were not cooperating at work yesterday! Good news, though, that Possum's Mum is holding her own - at least for now!

Cyn and Broni, you're both absolutely right. Kids today say things we would have been afraid to even THINK back in the day, in case someone could tell what we were thinking. Then they're totally shocked when confronted about their lack of manners/appropriateness.

Broni, yes to the adverts while watching the eagles. I'm not sure if they eventually go away after shutting a few - or if I just quit noticing them. They were also visible when I watched the video of the 3rd egg being laid - could see that whoever made the video moved the curser over and closed them. Second day in a row that I haven't had time to visit the site. Things are just getting too busy here.

Still here Julie, just had a call from Pete, his mum is still holding her own so he is going to watch car racing live with a good friend tonight.

Just checked on the Eagles and either mom or dad is sound asleep with their back to us. Wonder where the other one sleeps?

Gail, I guess you've been watching the eagles as well. I hope I can find at least a few minutes to drop in on them tomorrow!

Brenda, thanks SO much for posting the link to the potato you-tube! I've never heard that tip, so both you and Cyn found out about it before I did!

Tami, I agree! Heidi should buy what she needs for the farm. After all, it's her money!

WooHoo, June, congrats on winning the fruit tray! I'm guessing you will be able to put it to good use - or maybe all the fruit is already eaten.

Heidi, how cool is that? IH will be away until AFTER you have returned from the sale. The only way he'd be able to tell if you bought anything would be if you came home with a completely different breed, which is highly unlikely since it's a Red Angus sale! Good luck with your bidding!

June, will you pack for Ken after the ironing is done? I can't imagine what freshly ironed clothes would look like after hubby packed them. I even wonder about how he folds his T-shirts (under shirts) when they come out of the dryer. But I'm not the one who wears them, so I don't say anything.

Tami, what a a busy weekend you have planned, especially tomorrow/Saturday! Wow! Teaching in the morning, baseball in the afternoon, and out to dinner with in-laws in the evening! Sunday almost seems easier! I'm glad you had a nice conversation with your newly found cousin! I hope you will one day (and soon-ish) get to meet her! (Or is it him?)

Broni, it's usually Mom Eagle on the nest at night. I've read that Dad sleeps perched on a nearby branch. Mom only sleeps in a nest when incubating eggs and raising babies. Once they've fledged, she'll also sleep on a branch.

Julie, well she just moved the eggs and herself around. Thanks for the info about how they sleep.
So still waiting to hear how you are?

Broni, I'm glad Pete's Mum is still holding her own! I hope he enjoys watching car racing with his friend!

Broni, since you asked, my health has been good! So glad I had a flu shot in the fall! My knees tend to be achey when it's cold or when the pool water is too cold, but other than that, they're doing pretty well. Last week I went to a dermatologist, and he didn't find anything that we needed to deal with - except some pinkness and swelling in my ankles. He has prescribed support stockings - and told me what I have to look forward to if I don't wear them.

BTW, this is so cool being able to chat back and forth a bit here! Now that I'm getting used to facebook, I miss the "Like" button. So often, there's no one here when I'm reading and commenting, and my comments refer to something someone typed nearly a day previously.

Julie, check what preservatives you are eating in your food, with your busy schedule I bet you have been using more pre prepared foods, even something as simple as tomato paste. They can play havoc with your body.

Afternoon all, taking a break from resting..

I got some new shoes today - end of summer sale, one pair if sandles was actually $5!! Alie is trying to steal them even though I bought her 2 pairs the other day.

Julie, good news about your knees - you've worked very hard to keep them moving..

Tami, the easiest way I used to find to work out the time difference was to subtract hours, then add a day. Right now US EST to East Coast Aus is subtract 8 hours and make it the next day. So it's 1am Friday night where you are, and 5pm Saturday here.

Suzanne, I hope you have fun watching the belly dancing. I look forward to the photos, especially of Johnette's granddaughters!

Broni, the post from fb about everlasting friends is so true! That's one of the good things about fb - helping good friends reconnect!

MizT, if Al's nausea meds put him to sleep, you definitely don't want him to take them before he drives to his treatments! I hope all is going well for him and he's letting you see to it that he gets enough nourishment! So - he has 13 more treatments. How many days a week does he go? I don't think it's every day, but I can't seem to remember. How is Joy doing? I hope her infection clears up soon, and hope it wasn't MRSA!

Broni, thanks for the advice about preservatives! There are so many things I check on the food labels, but that's not one of them. And, of course, you're right. We eat to much prepared or partially prepared food with our busy schedules! That's something I'd like to change, but it's not going to happen before the end of this month, I'm afraid.

Hi, Suzy! Nice to see you here as well!

Broni's right. It's a three-way!

Suzy, great shopping! A pair of sandals for $5? Well done! Mind you, I won't be borrowing them. Haven't worn much but athletic shoes/trainers or Crocs in years. (I have orthotics and hammer toes. It's one of the reasons I'm beginning to get a bit crazy about D's upcoming wedding. What am I going to put on my feet?

Julie, one of Dag's recipes is so quick and easy and you use a jar of Thai Green/Red Curry and coconut milk with Chicken or Beef and Rice and no side effects.

Broni, are there certain preservatives to watch out for? I also know prepared foods have too much sodium, which isn't good for swelling and water retention.

Broni, is that recipe in the "cookbook" here? Do you know the name of it?

Suzy, yes, I need to get up and moving tomorrow! I need to be out the door about 8 a.m. to go to water aerobics. Then, once I'm home, I need to get to work on a major swearing! House gninaelc and gniworht out/recycling of junk mail, catalogs, newspapers, etc. We've been so busy with other stuff that there's a "back-log."

Broni, yes, I'd like the recipe, please!

Suzy, I can't wear "tall" shoes. It's flats for me - even though hubby is a foot taller. I have threatened to wear athletic shoes for the wedding (only half-joking). When I went to get fitted for support/compression stockings, the clerk suggested a shoe store I might try, as she has similar foot problems. As soon as I have a dress, I'll need to go check them out.

Hope to see you again tomorrow, Broni and Suzy! It's been fun chatting here - almost like it used to be when the "Last to Post" contest was going. We would all pop in here at any time, so often found someone to chat with.
