Gekko, Everybody! Getting here a bit later than last night.
Hi, Heidi, Suzy, Broni, June, CynB, Brenda and Tami!
Heidi, so sorry I guessed incorrectly about an IH calf check. Guess I gave him more credit than was due. Hurray for getting your foot in the boot. Excellent plan to keep your foot up and iced! How were the eagles? I didn't have a chance to get there today. Guess it's also not surprising that he didn't bury the bull calf. Your list of things you needed to do today was long! I hope you were able to get it all done!
Suzy, I'm so excited that you were called in to teach! I'm sure you did superbly! You must learn to give yourself credit for all that you're capable of doing! I hope you enjoyed it - at least a little bit!
Broni, I'm glad Pete's Mum has improved some since he got there! Sending positive thoughts! Wish I could also send some cooler weather! I understand what you mean about peeling the clothes off! Hopefully any storms will bring cooler temperatures! Hopefully, the rain will be a slow, gentle, soaking rain!
June, I haven't read your bowls results yet. Hope the day went well!
Cyn, I hope you enjoyed your TV therapy! I had a bit this evening - NOT like I have the time to spare, but we also had to clear some programs from the list.
Brenda, have you found out how long it will be to get the new bedroom furniture? I hope all went well with the appointment! Yep, we have a few extra things in our bedroom - and K - and family room - and other bedrooms - and basement. We need to get back to the box challenge, but have too much else that absolutely MUST be done. Deadlines, you know!
Hi, Tami! Your school week is nearly finished! Enjoy! (I can understand why you wouldn't want the eagle cam link at school. It's addicting, though I didn't have time to get there today.

And now to read page 584: Hi, Tami, Brenda, Theresa, Rolanda, Heidi, Suzy, Nola, Broni, Gail, CynB, MizTricia and Suzanne!
Nice to see Tami, Brenda and Theresa sharing coffee and Rolanda joining in with some tea. Sorry I missed you all!
Heidi, what a busy day for you! How is it that we understand your need to build the cow herd and have excellent breeding stock - but IH doesn't understand? I also remember when you reduced numbers in order to remove some of the less productive or desirable cows and young'uns. I hope you and Robert enjoy the show tomorrow and the sale on the following day! I hope you find just what you're looking for!
Brenda and Theresa, good call about the bird deal!
Nola, I hope all is going well with your coursework and your work-work and your (dare I say it?) house-work. I apologize for swearing! We miss you and hope you find time for yourself occasionally!
Suzy, Alie is so busy with school, PRIDE, dance classes, etc. I was wondering how she had time to be in a band - and deal with the drama that also goes along with that. I hope the other drama in your life is improving.
Heidi, a good day and 2 new bull calves and a male Silver Pheasant! Congrats!
Theresa, good for you for the work you're getting done! Sending positive thoughts for your D to keep making tiny steps of progress! If she gets some exercise each day, that's a step in the right direction! I hope her pain is diminishing!
Gail, you must be busy! We're glad to see you when you visit, if only briefly!
MizT, the same holds true for you! We know you have so much to do that you might not have the energy to visit and chat here. We're just always happy to know that you are around. Please take good care of yourself when you're taking good care of Al!
Seems like many hubbies really have no idea how things get done around the house. Yep, we're in front of the TV or computer and eating bon bons. Amazing how we are all magicians!
Cyn, you're right about being expected to be mind readers by hubbies! We should just know when they run out of something. Mine is doing better. He sometimes remembers to let me know while I'm looking through the sales ads that he's nearly out of something.
Suzanne, enjoy the Mork & Mindy DVDs! When it was on TV, I rarely had time to watch it, so that's probably something I should get someday. (Robin Williams was on the David Letterman Show tonight.)
Suzy, of course, you survived the day teaching! We knew you could do it! Good for you! Hopefully you will keep getting called and work enough that it builds some confidence!
Sleep well, Heidi, in preparation for the show and sale! We'll be thinking of you!

Julie, we lost the bowls yesterday. I am not playing well at the moment. I have not had time to do and practice.
Our BBQ at the club tonight so I do not have to cook.
Saw the eagles change over very early. When she woke she started calling him.
MizT, and Theresa, thinking of you both. A hard time looking after someone who is sick.
Suzy, a good day to get out of the way. Not so many nerves next time.
{{{hugs}}} to everyone else. I must go and get ready to go out.(I do not have to help tonight, so I can relax and enjoy)

This was a super rough school, but the teachers were lovely. The kids were a handful, but the ones I had weren't too bad - apparently the teacher I was subbing for is a really good teacher so they are well trained.

Good Afternoon my friends.
Late afternoon at the office, who was the idiot who said computers would make work easier grrrr!
Well Julie I guess I got what I asked for....it hasn't stopped raining all day but the humidity is still high.
Pete's mum is still holding her own but very yellow. Sounds a bit like when I was called back for my mum, she rallied and I spent a week on a canvas camper bed in the nursing home with her, had to come back to work and was a few weeks before her passing.
Was glad to see you pop in MizT, was thinking about you today.

Suzy - did a kid say that to you???? Little $#@$^%!
I can't believe how little respect kids have for adults these days. Imagine saying that to a teacher when we were at school. Expelled - no second chances - just O-U-T, out!

I normally don't post on emails from anyone... you know the ones I mean.. send this to so many people and something wonderful will happen. My sister in law sends me loads of those, but the last one was a link to a uTube link and I thought it was worth sharing.

People, that child's attempt to trap me was nothing compared to other crap I saw today. There are some wild kids out there who know teachers have no real power - I was actually lucky because nobody spoke to me the way I heard them speak to other teachers.. disgusting!! I thought they were being bad to me until I saw them with other teachers - I was lucky..

I'm up, dressed and just ate a quick brekkie while reading posts. Now to do a quick cow check (hopefully quick) then take off for the Red Angus Show. Fortunately, I don't have to listen to IH's complaints since he went out of town yesterday morning and won't be back until way after I get back from the sale.

Heidi does that mean if you buy something at the show IH just might not notice as he will not be there when you bring it home?
I agree June it probably is just as easy to peel in the normal way but I thought it was a neat trick. It would be daft to use it for mash as the ice water would cool the spud too much. For potato salad I usually leave the skin on.

Brenda... What it means that if I buy some cows, I'll turn them out with the herd before IH comes home and he'll never notice them. He doesn't know the ear tag numbers of the cows except for our oldest cow Sassy. She was a twin rejected by mama that we bottle raised.
There were some nice cows and heifers at the show. There are 3 bred ones that I'll be bidding on tomorrow. One is due to calve in a week or two and the others will be calving in the fall.

Hi all. Just stopping in for a minute. I have a busy weekend. Teaching in the morning, baseball in the afternoon and going our with in-laws for dinner. Sunday I have to grade papers. I had a really nice conversation with my new cousin last night. It is hard to work out times when you are on the other side of the world from each other. We are hoping to meet in person some day.

Good maEn everyone! Just popping in for a second. The Mork & Mindy DVDs are hysterical!! I remember an interview with Robin Williams years ago, he said they could NOT write a script for him. I've seen him on The Tonight Show (with Johnny Carson) for years and he would always make Johnny laugh!! Priceless humor.
Going to a Belly Dance performance with my friend Johnette tomorrow. Always fun. Will bring my camera & try to post photos. Noice weather here this week. Supposed to be spring-like for the next few days.

Got this from the 'other side' but thought it was worth posting here.
It's been said that everlasting friends can go long periods of time without speaking and never question friendship. These type of friends pick up like they just spoke yesterday, regardless of how long it has been or how far away they live, and they don't hold grudges. They understand that life is busy, but you will ALWAYS love them. Re-post if you have at least 1 of these friends, they will know who they are.

Suzanne, belly dancing is fun to watch, you will see a new side of your friend. One of our quilting group was taking lessons, and she danced for us, really did a great job and not something I would have expected her to do, you know? Enjoy the outing, and how old are the grand daughters?
Rain has settled in here tonight, reoccurring little spring showers, gentle and the soak in kind. We will have them all night tonight and again tomorrow. GOOD for the plants trying to bloom. My pear trees are blooming. One is in full bloom, the one next to it is barely open, the third one will be even later. OK, it lengthens my spring blooming season, but they are nice when all 3 bloom together, quite a show.
I know it is spring, another sure sign. there were bedding plants on sale at the grocery today. I was tempted, they had red salvia, would love some of that! But we might have another night or 2 of frost let, think I will wait a couple of weeks. I should get out my seeds for cleome, and get those planted, I did not have any last year and missed them. I think I showed you what that looks like back then but anyone who missed, here is a link, NOT MINE, but what the flowers look like.
http://www.google.com/images?q=cleome&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client =firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=744&bih=524
this link gives you pages of images, this below is for just one page, in case the first does not work for you.
http://www.squidoo.com/cleome-flowers
Good luck at the sale, Heidi. Hope you get at least one of the 3 you are bidding on.
Time to get ready for bed, I think Al has fallen asleep already. He needed nausea meds, that always puts him to sleep. Today I did not go with him, he has been doing OK on his own. but he left here nauseated, I was not here to make sure he took nausea meds before going if needed. Doc had to give him injection fore they could do radiation, he was spitting up some before treatment, and cannot go for treatment if you cannot be still. do not need him spitting up and asperating, he has had enough problems. Perhaps I need to go every day now for the next 13 treatments, we were warned the last 2 weeks were the roughest.
Hugs to all with extras, sorry I could not remember everything I read, but I did read and enjoyed catch ing up with your lives.

Hi, MIzT! So good to see you! You're sounding more rested than on some days/evenings when you drop by.
The first link you gave us for cleomes has a space between "client" and "=firefox" but once it's removed, it opens to MANY images of cleomes. It's a flower I'm not familiar with - perhaps only grows in zones warmer than where I live?
