Having a blah day - don't seem to have much energy. Good thing the computer doesn't take much energy to use.

Suzy, I am also here for you. I am paying close attention so I know what to be more aware of. Mitchell seems to be counting the days until he can get his learner's permit. Doesn't mean he will be allowed to learn how to drive.

He knows that. He is just excited that he might be able to drive. I remember what it feels like. I got my permit the day I turned 15 and my license the day I turned 16. I was even able to talk my father into letting me drive all by myself. True, it was only around the block but I got to drive. As long as he maintains his grades, he will be allowed to get his permit.

Hello all. Just got an email from the lady I mentioned the other day who used to babysit my daughter when she was an infant, the one who lost two daughters to leukemia, her husband a few years ago and then her son diagnosed with a brain tumour. Apparently they no longer think it's a brain tumour, but NEUROSARCOIDOSIS. Excuse the capitals, but I just copied the word from her email. I checked it on Wikipedia and it is totally treatable - what a relief.

I too missed the laying of the third egg, so I will now go and see the link that Heidi provided. Thanks Heidi.

Good maEn everyone!
Heidi: Sorry to hear about the calf.
No word from George in over a week...He is still posting on FB (as his alter-ego, he does astrology readings)
Lunch with Janet postponed till next week. She is a manager (optical dept.) at Wal-Mart here and there was a problem with the pharmacy dept. (which is also under her control). Had to do with how they were keeping the handwritten prescriptions (which they have to hang onto for 10 years). The room where they are kept is supposed to be ONLY for the prescriptions, BUT one of the regional managers did an inspection & found all sorts of other things in that room which did not belong. Janet's store manager, Tim, could have been FIRED over this. Fortunately, Janet was able to rectify the situation. Tim gets to keep his job.

I had to go back & read to see who gave birth 3 times in 6 days. I'll try to check out the eagle site.
When we lived in CA, there was a tree near our apartment mailboxes. There were hummingbirds that built a nest in the tree. Unfortunately, the year they did that, a storm came along & tore the nest up. A short time later (and every year that followed) they had a new nest. The eggs were SO tiny...it was neat to see them.

Gekko! Getting a late start here tonight - at this time last night I was signing off.

Hi, Heidi, Vicki, Suzy, Broni, Gail and June!

Heidi, At least the swollen foot saved you a cow check last night! Hope it helps out today, too! I hope it's not broken and the swelling is going down! Please take care of yourself, Sweetie! Sending healing thoughts!

Suzy, I can't blame my fingernails for my bad typing - they couldn't get much shorter. (I wonder if I'm expected to grow them for the wedding this summer. Between my very low thyroid function and nearly an hour a day in the pool, my nails split all the time - can hardly get them to last a week before I need to trim off split "ends."

Vicki, we have missed you, but certainly understand how life can be so busy that SA takes a back seat! (My crystal ball is predicting the same for me quite soon.) We're just glad to have you post when you can! Kevin certainly is getting a lot of work. I hope he gets paid overtime! You two take care of yourselves! I hope your drive home was safe! Do you have air con in the car?

Broni, so sorry the cooler temperature didn't prevail and has been replaced again with hot and humid! Good question to Heidi if the cow will mourn/miss her calf. Did she answer?

Broni, I'm so sorry to hear about Possum's Mum! Thinking of her and sending positive thoughts to her, Possum and you! It's good to hear that he is healing and progressing and has had his first physio! Sending positive thought to him to keep up his exercises!

June, I didn't get to the eagles until this afternoon, but people in chat there said Bob hadn't moved the cameras today! What to they know? I will keep reading to see what others here say! How was bowls?

No, Julie, Bob did not move the camera today. The shed that he operates it from isn't heated, so he has to wait for warm periods to do it.

I'm gonna try to squeeze my foot into a muck boot and do the cow check tonight. IH doesn't actually walk among them and check every cow. I do. Wish me luck.

Page 582 now: Hi, June, Suzy, Broni, Tami, Theresa, Heidi, June, Brenda, Jerry and Gail!

Jerry?

Thank you for your TOPP, June!

Oh, Suzy! Life is just not fair! How can she regress so quickly? It's a hard lesson for your hubby, who (like most fathers) probably thinks his little girl can do no harm. But she is certainly hurting you - and your family!

Broni, I'm glad to hear that Possum arrived safely! Positive and healing thoughts being send to him and his Mum in Sydney! {{{HUGS}}} for them and you!

Tami, is the eagle site forbidden for you at school? I'm afraid they'll always be sleeping when you get up and have your coffee.

Heidi, you've said what I was beginning to think, so I won't repeat it. Just find it hard to believe - that's all.

Heidi, I hope your congestion (and your foot) are improving!

Oh, June, you were up at 2 a.m. to check on the eagles? I have not yet been able to get to the computer in the morning. Great results at bowls and wishing the same for tomorrow! SO sorry the radio is on just when you wanted to get some sleep to be ready for tomorrow!

Brenda, you're right - perhaps Dana needs to deal with some of the other mothers here to realize how good she has it at home. Ooh, yummy way to celebrate your son's birthday! Happy (belated) Birthday to him! Too bad Emily had to miss it!

Jerry, thanks for the heads-up about facebook! Quite a business it's become!

Thank you, Suzy, for the summary of information about facebook and LACK OF privacy. I'll be thinking of you with other matters. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

Good news for Heidi, with two new heifer calves!

And here we are on page 583!

Hi, Gail, Theresa, Tami, Heidi, CynB, Suzanne and Rolanda!

Suzy, remember that many of us have been mothers of daughters and MOST of us have been daughters. You can talk to us/rant/cry on our shoulders any time you want!

I was waiting to see who knew about the 3rd eagle egg. I also missed it - was not yet home from water aerobics class. DARN! But I watched the video. Thanks, Heidi! While I was watching for a while this afternoon, I got to say Hi to Kathy in MD and someone who calls herself "Surreal Farm." Gosh, Heidi, I never thought of it that way - giving birth 3 times in 6 days. Projected first hatching is sometime around April 1.

Theresa, good news for your friend who has lost 2 Ds to leukemia & her husband. The new diagnosis for her S is certainly much better!

Suzanne, I'm sorry your lunch with Janet was postponed. I bet Tim was glad that Janet was able to save his job with some quick thinking!

Rolanda, I'm glad you got your groceries purchased and put away! So sorry the cooler temperatures I sent your way didn't reach you!

No, no, no, Julie. A cow check for IH means standing on the driveway and shining a light quickly into the calving pasture. He doesn't actually walk out there unless he sees a soaking wet calf struggling to get to it's feet.

I was able to get my foot in the boot for the first time since I dropped the cow on it. I've had it elevated a lot today with an ice pack on it. (A good excuse to watch the eagles.) It was uncomfy, but I could function.

Now to bed. I've got a lot to do tomorrow, starting with feeding the cows, burying the bull calf ( IH PROMISED me last night that he would take care of that today, then denied it this evening. ) and scraping muck off the hay feeding area. That's before Robert shows up and we finish that fence and hang a new gate between the horse pasture and the calf weaning pen. It's early to think of weaning calves that haven't been born yet, but we also use that pen to hold the herd before working them right after the last calf has been born. That's when we give all the calves their first shots, put fly tags in all the cattle for the summer, and turn the little bull calves into steers. That gate is the weak spot for that pen. It's rusted through in several places, and the support post for it shifted way out of vertical.

Just scanning through the year 11 physics text - if it's motion I should be fine. It the other one is electromagnetism I should be okay. If, on the other hand, they are up to doing engines, I'm in trouble..

Broni - almost nothing of the storm here, so far. But by the radar it split and went to the north and south of us. We were hoping for some steady soaking cooling rain. Still d@mn hot here!

Suzy pleased to hear you have some casual work, as others have said stop worrying you will do fine. Hopefully this time when you get your pay cheque you will be able to do something for you with it or even save it for a rainy day. The surveyor is coming out today to check that the bedroom designer didn't make a mistake on his measurements. Hopefully he will be able to give us a firm idea as to how long it is going to be before the furniture is fitted. Once that has happened I will be able to tidy the rest of the house. You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff we had in our bedroom.

Morning all. Coffee is brewing and should be ready soon.
Suzy, I know you will do fine today. You are more prepared than you think.
Brenda, hope you get to straighten out everything soon. I would not want to have to empty my bedroom. I don't know where I would put everything.
Heidi, thanks for sharing the link. I will watch it later when the boys are with me.
Julie, I have not tried to look for the eagle link at school. I don't want to get too distracted.
