Was surprised to get a bunch of emails. Playing Sudoku can take up a lot of time, especially the tougher puzzles. I love checking out the photos though.

Mymare, how is the weather in Chicago? Saw on the news you guys have had a bit of rain too. Would you believe yesterday was sunny and not a drop of rain all day. Figures, I had to go to the eye doctor and my eyes were dilated. The one day I wanted it to be really cloudy, it wasn’t.

Debby, I had a cherry tree in my backyard growing up. It was a huge producer. My aunt and uncle use to come over and help pick. They would fill an entire paper grocery bag and take it home.

I have to admit that yesterday I went for a walk at lunchtime and didn't notice that it was misting until a block into my walk...Yes, we have had rain this week - but gentle and much needed. little on the humid side today but overcasted. July has been a rather nice month. I'm going to see the White Sox play tomorrow with my sister. Hoping that the overcast lasts since we will be in the sun until about 3. My niece is going with a guy from texas - around Dallas I believe - she has been visiting him to see if she can handle the weather --- maybe an annoucement soon ???? Enjoy your day, Mary

Hi Christina - My uncle owned a cherry orchard on the west side of Michigan in the 60's and 70's. My mom always canned or froze cherries. We would have cherry pie in the middle of the winter.

We could use some of your rain. We have had a few showers this week, but it is so dry here! Everyone's yards are half yellow.

That's how I recall the fine folks of San Antonio greetin me when we went to the rodeo in February 1990, my last trip there. We went to Riverwalk and (of course) The Alamo. My friend's dad used to own the stockyards in SA till he sold out about ten years ago... he dunn taught me what calf fries were!

Wow Christina--I would have thought you would have beat us in the heat thing too.
I stepped outside just to throw some scraps out, I was out for less than 2 minutes and thought I was going to suffacate from the heat--it was only 8:30 in the morning.
Weather this year seems so strange. Started with lots of snow on Mother's Day. I thought the global warning thing was heating things up. Now we are into August and we are just getting a glimpse of triple digit weather, when generally it happens in July.
This time last year we were worrying about all the fires surrounding us. I cannot remember mowing this much either.
Oh well, no matter the weather--life keeps going and we have something to chat about.

Christina - read your comment on Karen's page. I am glad you escaped the brunt of the mess today. It just doesn't let up.

Christina, I live in Wimberley. Do you know where that is? It is about an hour from San Antonio, near San Marcos. We got a lot of rain yesterday. The creeks and rivers are up here. Do you live on a river or creek--that water in your picture looks pretty close.

Christina, I have enjoyed your pictures in flight. You commented that Google Satellite only covers a few places. I have Google Earth, and it seems to cover the globe. Check it out.

BOOOOOOO! scared ya huh!

once upon a time POOH BEAR wanted to have a garden
so he planted many seeds
he thought how lovely it would be to have butterflies too
but after the garden began to grow a waskely wabbit was eating all his veggies
so he got his "I told you ta get gun"

he snuck up on him as he hid in the wabbit hole
just then a good friend Garfield stopped in and said
"between eeyore and I we can entertain that wabbit
so he'll stay clear of your veggies"as they both mumbled under there breath...
we'll eat the flowers
and if that doesn't work I'll sting him!
or pretend that I am Tigger and bounce in his hole
or piglet and I can pretend I am him and sneak up on him a scare him away!
