I hate losing that tree, Julie. It was an old oak, at least 300 years old, probably more. It was along a former road bed that was here when Abe Lincoln was born. The road was moved over 150 years ago.

I'm not doing much of the work. The less I do, the more work for Robert. He has some payments he HAS to make tomorrow and really needs the work.

Whew, just fed and watered the horses and dogs and in that short time you came and visited - I bet you are all gone now that I'm back with a cup of coffee.
Heidi, that sounds like a win-win with you and Robert. You get to rest, and he gets work.
Theresa, now you've got me wondering: I broke my face when I was 22 - how does it work when you get arthritis in your face???? Hmm, maybe I will finally lose that weight?
Julie, since Mum's first hip replacement she can't even cut her own toenails but has to go to a podiatrist! I hope your knee works better than her hip..
Ally's ankle is a lot better this morning but still sore. She wrapped it up (very independent child, wouldn't let us do it for her) and limped off to school. It doesn't look very swollen. If it doesn't get better on its own I'll take her to the doc for a check - they don't usually do anything about feet anyway.

Robert has gone for the day. The chainsaw broke again and needs to go to the repair shop first thing in the morning. This is IH's chainsaw, and he does no maintenance on it. I am the one who ends up paying for repairs to it when he's not around.

I guess that would do it, Heidi. My mom once hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and plowed into their house. Her face wasn't broken, but the bruising and swelling was out of this world.
I am sitting here relaxing with a hot water bottle. Ahhhh.

Close Heidi - a steering wheel. I had a head on collision, probably at 100kph (60mph) because that was the limit where I was, and broke the steering wheel with my face. It fought back of course... Amazing doctors put me back together again and you can't even notice the scars.

OH.... Robert went by the repair shop on the way home, and it was still open. The problem with the chainsaw may be terminal. If it is, I will have to buy a new chainsaw tomorrow.

I'm sorry Suzy. I'd forgotten the specifics. I was thinking about the chainsaw. I just got the word. Last rites have been pronounced.

Pity you need to use the chainsaw Heidi, you could have left it for IH's return then he could have footed the bill.

Nah, that's the kind of thing he'd do to me. I don't sink to that level. Besides, it turned out that Robert broke it. He forgot to mix oil with the gas and burned it out. Since I let Robert use it, I should replace it.

Well it has been confirmed. The amazing lady did die yesterday. So very sad and a huge loss to the town. She wasn't young, but she was a lot younger in attitude, activities and approach to life than her calendar age would have suggested.

Morning everyone.
((Hugs)) to those that need it!!
I will be spending a few hours with my sister today, meeting up at the big Shopping Centre that is convenient for my sister to get to by bus (she doesn't drive).
We both agreed not to tell Mum, that we are getting together, Mum will be thinking that she needs to join us!!!!

Heidi, when I went over to his page to congratulate him on placing in the TaeKwonDo comp, I noticed that the owner has a link to farming: he's high up in an organisation that works on bull sperm!
Now will that get me banned?

Viv, the only reason that my dad quit smoking at 77 (4 years ago) is that he was in the hospital with a bad case of pneumonia and went home on oxygen. After a week in the hospital and 2 weeks at home on oxygen he was done. He was not allowed to smoke around the oxygen as it is flammable. I think that if it wasn't for the pneumonia he would still be smoking. Yes, he has health issues from the smoking. He has COPD and that is what is affecting him now.

Boy what a busy day today turned out to be. I guess I had a cortisone high! Those injections do that to me sometimes and if they get a blood vessel for it to go systemic more quickly, it really gives me artificial energy. this one bled and bruised, so I am sure I got a nice bit of it systemic quickly. Oh well, I needed the energy today. Had to run all my errands today with the whole of central Alabama doing the same. SNOW in the forecast so everyone was required to turn out at local grocery for milk and bread. This is an upside down forecast the further south ya go in Alabama, the more accumulation is expected! Our guestimate is for 3 to 4 inches. Now you with 19 inches of snow will laugh, but this will bring the state to a grinding stop! There is not enough snow clearing equipment in the state to clear a nice sized shopping center parking lot!! It should melt before Monday, so only one work day for most to worry about. AND just how much snow where is still up in the air, depending on if the low pressure in the gulf which is feeding the nescessary moisture moves north, stays as expected or moves further south. Our 3-4 inches could be 5 to 6, or 1 to 2, but one thing they are certain of, we gonna get snow!
Will it never end? I have to go back to my doc, just got results of my call back mammogram. something in the right breast they want to see me in 4 months again, and doc wants do do a manual exam, so he knows where this is and can tell if it changes. OK, I am not too upset about this, last year it was the left breast I got called back for a repeat and then for an ultrasound, and a check up at 6 months. this is just a bit more cautious this time. I have fibrocystic breasts, and this is gonna happen. At least so far they have not suggested a surgeon to do a biopsy!! they sent my sister once, she also inherited Mom's breast condition, and the surgeon told her, do not let them send you back to me again till you are ready to have lumps removed for pain control. there is no need, they are going to be benign. If they are cancer, they would be able to TELL from the mamo. So I go to humor the doc and let him cop a feel hehehe, if it makes him feel better, like he is doing his job. Need to talk to him about changing pain meds anyway, the one he has me on now is not good for pain at night, keeps me awake. This is good for taking daytime but not when I need to sleep. I found some older ones that make me sleepy and slept soooo good last night. Pain stayed away all day, achey by late afternoon from over use, perhaps, I had on the brace that lets me have some limited movement. Sort of need that when you are driving as much as I did today. the achey just graduated to pain, and I took a makes me sleepy pill again.
Does anyone know if you can get that "knob" thingy that goes on steering wheel for one handed drivers? I kept hurting thumb when having to turn wheel sharptly. Al said he thought they had been removed from market. I need to find out

Huuumm, I ran out of room!!
I need to find out before I have this surgery, or keep hurting this thumb.
Too much talk. Blame it on the cortisone and I am out of here to go night night.
Hugs to all and will try to comment on what I read next post.

Evening all - you all went and got a life while I was off living Ally's life at Pride rehearsal... It went really well. With a few weeks until the next gig they were very relaxed and had a lot of fun, which was great for the new girl. We mothers had fun chatting too.

MizT, hope the forecast is at least partially wrong and you aren't house bound for the next few days or however long... especially hope you don't lose power - we worried enough about Heidi last year, don't want to have to worry about you too! Love the 'cop a feel' comment! You have to wonder about docs sometimes don't you? I have seen the knobby things in photos but not in stores or anything...

Did I miss you Broni?
Suzy - can't believe your story about your incident with the steering wheel - not since I've seen your pretty face!
Mama - I'm so jealous of all your snow...but I do understand at some point it is too much.
Rolanda - hope you had fun with your big sister - I too would have opted for the one-on-one time.

Heidi, yep, I had diarrhea of the fingers hehehe. but left thumb is in a hard splint that leaves my fingers free, I can hit space bar with my right thumb, and other than a bit of time correcting typos cause my reach is off with the splint, I can type away. Sorry your hand is still swollen and painful, hope you improve soon.
Suzy, glad you enjoyed the rehearsal, nice to be able to enjoy things you gotta do anyway. No snow yet, seems to be a hole in the stuff falling, right over us, but snow south of us and we are still forecast 1-3 inches, to start later this morning. I will keep you posted. I think it is not as cold as they forecast yet, either.
Broni, if I cannot find one here, I will do just that. Let me have a look around first, just thought of it on the way home yesterday and chose not to stop in at any auto places at that time. I will check about this once I get out first of the week.

Vicki, can't cats talk to you with their tails? Even my girls with their short stubby ones manage to swish them, even get into helicopter mode. Cats with long tails cannot do that so funny.
Theresa, I could not get DOWN to the floor to sit, well, maybe almost now, my legs are a lot stronger with my exercises, but I still would not want to
. Hope your back and tailbone are all better today.
Coffee is calling, need my second cup. OH I slept wonderfully last night, and my blood sugar was back down where it should be this morning, after being elevated from the cortisone. Either the double dose of sugar meds, or the cortisone got used up in my adrenaline rush last night hehehe. glad I had the keyboard to take it out on.
Hugs to all till later.

They probably stopped selling that steering wheel knobby thing because of car accidents. That knob might do a lot of damage. Our Suzy might not be here if she had one on her car. The government feels that it needs to pass laws to protect us from any possible harm..... except the harms that they cause.
