Back with a brand new chainsaw. I discovered that HI's old one was repairable, but for twice the cost of a new chain saw. The decision was a no brainer.

Heidi, good decision, get that new saw! Hope that Robert can get the tree cut up and removed for you.
Weather Report:
We have snow, been coming down since 9:30, it is now almost 2:30p. But temp is such a lot of it is melting when it hits. Water is dripping from buildings, bare ground is still showing through. I would say even with all we have seen fall, it has really snowed, we still have only a dusting. My ramp off the back deck is covered, about the only thing that is though.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled posts and I need to go warm my hand and do my exercises.
Hugs to all.

Robert is enjoying using the new saw. It's going to take a while to cut the tree up, and the largest part of the trunk (5 ft. across) will have to be dragged to the burn pile.
The broken saw was OLD anyways. IH bought it used. It's so old that parts for it are unavailable anymore. The repair guy, Gary, searched the internet and finally found a replacement part, but because of the scarcity of them, the seller was charging an arm and a leg. This will actually be IH's first new chainsaw.

Fellow Sudokuaholics!
Hi, Heidi, Suzy, Theresa, Brenda, Rolanda, Tami, Bean, MizTricia, Broni, Vici, and anyone I've missed!
So sorry you lost that old oak, Heidi! Do you know what kind of oak it was? I sent you a message to see if there might be someone who has a saw mill or group of wood-turners who might be interested in some wood. It's too bad IH's chain saw bit the dust. Now just hope he remembers that the new one is YOURS. I'm glad you have found work for Robert at a time when he needs it - and a good idea to have him with you when you bought the new saw!
Suzy, it's such a shame that your friend/acquaintance died! It certainly sounds like she'll be missed! RIP. Prayers for any surviving family members who may be facing a difficult time now. Also, I'm glad the recent Pride rehearsal was relaxed and enjoyable for all. I hope Ally's ankle is feeling better!
Rolanda, I hope you and your sister had a fun day shopping. You deserve a day together. You both can visit with your Mum on another day. I hope she's doing well!
Tami, I hope your Dad is continuing to improve! Give hugs to Bobbie and Bernie for us, please!
Bean, I hope you were able to enjoy the cooler day! Sending hugs and positive vibes that those health issues all get cleared up SOON!
MizT, I hope your hand is feeling MUCH better now. I really enjoyed your newsy post! It's been some time since you've typed so much. I hope your "call-back" for mammogram goes well. Don't forget that you wanted to talk to the doc about pain meds at the same time. I don't know about you, but I try to write everything down that I want to mention or ask. The docs come in so quickly, do what they plan to do and are out the door before you get a chance to ask a question nowadays. I make sure to wave my piece of paper right away & mention I have questions to delay his exit. BTW, I heard someone refer to the knobby thing on the steering wheel as a "necker's knob."
Vici, wish we could all share some snow with you, including the 12 inches in Texas!

Good Morning All.
The mozzies are like snow on the topside after all this rain, I even had to spray Bella to keep them off.
Finally got to see Avatar and yeah I reckon Vici would look good with a tail hehe!

Hello everyone.
Just reading the news and apparently two young boys in separate incidents were approached by an older man trying to lure them into vehicles. It's upsetting because I live in a small town. My grandkids are still young enough that they don't go anywhere on their own, but it's still worrisome.
Quick, somebody give me some good news!

Morning Everyone.
Yes Sister and I had a lovely day together. We headed for the food hall, had a cuppa, sat long enough to be needing some lunch.
Then we wandered around the shops, looking at Black and White Outfits to Impress.
My family and I are heading to SIL 50th Birthday Party this eve, Birthday Girl had indicated on the invite the Black and White theme!!!
Some very intewesting items one can wear [starry), and no I didnt buy anything, we were just looking. (Well, yes I did Buy, a couple of summer tops that were on special ie $5 ea, a white with pink flowers blouse also reduced... )
Had already decided what to wear from my wardrobe. Black Pants, Black Cami Top, White Blouse (with blue flowers print), oh and Black Shoes.

There is a strong smell of smoke in the air this morning. Not sure where that is coming from.
Will be doing some Gardening presently, while it is still cool, before the heat of the day sets in. Finishing off what Hubby and I started last Saturday, weeding / tidying up the backyard.

Julie... The new chain saw is his, not mine. He had a chain saw, albeit old. I let Robert use it for work around this farm. Robert broke it. So I replaced the chainsaw. I know I'd be furious if somebody broke something of mine and then bought themselves a new one instead of replacing mine.

Ditto what Heidi said about fires Rolanda.
Ditto what everyone said about Julie! Though we have heard a bit about her exercises which was interesting.
Broni, we have a zillion flies at the moment. I'm dreading the mozzies when the rain stops.

Theresa, that is upsetting. The good news is that the boys knew enough not to get into the car. That is all we can do for our children and it sounds like your small town is doing it well.

The sun is setting in a muddy mess and only tiny patches of snow. It was warmer today than was expected to be I think, cold enough for the snow to fall, but warm enough for it to melt. suits me!
Theresa, sorry to hear someone is trying to lure youngsters into a vehicle. Not good. I hope the perpetrator is caught soon. Were the boys able to describe the vehicle? Was it the same one?
Broni and Suzy, hipe you can successfully repel the skeeters, I hate those things. also dislike the spray we have to use, repellent, yuck. Tie a fabric softener sheet to your belt loop, that is supposed to help.
Rolanda, have fun at the black and white party , enjoy. Hope you got the remainder of the weeding finished.

Good evening all. About to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics. There was snow in 49 of the 50 United States today. Only Hawaii did not have snow. Northern Florida got a light dusting.

Good Evening All...I just stopped to say hello....They have done a great clean up of the snow around my complex, but its piled so high that the little dogs like Jazz have BIG problems finding some place to relieve themselves...boy am I glad I have a carpet shampooer...but he has been very good...so far only one accident, and that was of the non liquid variety. That made him feel pretty bad, he doesn't like to make a mess...eat socks, yes...but nothing else.
I guess I will be able to drive tomorrow so that I can run few errands and go to church on Sunday, before we are hit with another expected 4-8 inches of snow..... Its everywhere!
Hugs and good wishes to all ... Vici, you are right...pretty wears thin after while! Looking forward to spring in a BIG way...Lol!

At Luxor airport waiting for a delayed flight, about 1 1/2 hours Egyptian time.
Cruise on the Nile was great and we have seen lots. I think my feet are worn out. Back to Cairo and we see Wagdy again this afternoon and on to Alexandria to morrow. The hotel this time has a view of the great Pyramids.
Sorry about the spelling. no time to correct it and I have not read anything. Internet was $1 US a minute on the boat!

June's trip sounds wonderful! I have learned from her to wear very comfy walking shoes if I go to Egypt. I can't imagine staying in a hotel with a view of the pyramids! My dream come true! I hope she gets a good room...

A feel good post. My family calls me a sticky beak. For example, at the Show today I saw a little girl with a cast just like the one Ally had at this time last year. I spoke to the family and discovered it was the same type of break Ally had, she was just as brave as Ally, and we all warned them about the pain after the cast comes off. So, yes, I guess I am a bit of a sticky beak. But... it paid off today.
We walked past one of the rides, it was raining so there weren't that many people around and noone on the ride. The man running it was holding onto his left arm and breathing very heavily like he was in a lot of pain. I approached him and asked him if he needed help. He refused, though we offered at least 3 times. Being the interfering busy body that I am I couldn't leave it at that. I went over to the St. John's Ambulance volunteer tent, told them what was going on, showed them where he was, and then butted out. Later I asked if he had allowed them to help, and it turned out he had been carted off in an ambulance and if it had been much longer it could have been very serious. So I'm feeling very proud of being a busy body tonight!

Suzy, good for you! So happy you got that man help and just in time too. You did the right thing, so many are in denial when heart attack symptoms strike. It takes concerned citizens, informed concerned citizens and family to save lives. You have a right to feel proud.
That is it for typing for me, reaching for keys is hurting. DRATS!
Check in later, Hugs to all.

I'm effing dessip at my pooter this morning...it's running all glitchy and slow and I have lots to do today - some sun out so I need to get to some of the yard clean-up.
Suzy - good on you...one of the major symptoms of heart attacks is denial. When I use to teach CPR we would counsel people to call 911 (our emergency #) whether the victim wants it or not.
God bless your sticky beak!
