BECKY if I had been around, would have given you a race to TOPPS. Lately I seem to be the brides maid, over and over, setting up a TOPPs for others. Oh well . . . I have had my turn as top TOPPS.

Been to the grocery, I have food in my pantry again, but a hole in my wallet, oh my! I was looking for my favorite grocery day evening meal today, as I refuse to cook and shop for food same day. That just seems a bit cruel and unusual punichment to me. I usually buy a certain brand of BBQ in a container, pick up some buns and serve with baked beans from a tin and the store bought cole slaw, the kind sold just shreaded, add your own dressing. THEY WERE OUT! Even the nice meat market man went to the back to find me one, came back, none in the store.

So i looked around the frozen already prepared section, and found burgandy chicken. Looks good, a bit more than the BBQ meat woud have been, but still less than 1/3 the price of take out or eating out. I will let you know how it turns out. I also found some acceptable crinkle french fries, frozen. No trans fats, no saturated fats, and an acceptable amount of good fats. Hubby is most happy, just seeing them come in th e house hehe.

Becky, I am pleased I inspired you to start making up menus again. I find it makes life so much easier. I know exactly what I need to buy and the menu is flexible enough that I can make anything on it any night. I also have stores in the pantry for justin...just in case nothing takes my fancy, eg tins of tuna for emergency tuna mornay etc!

MizT, I always love reading your stories, your kitty ones and today, your cold days one. I love the part about going up to a cabin with your mum and sisters. Can't imagine ever doing such a thing with mine. Mum is too old now and, for sure, my sisters would have all scratched each others eyes out!

ROLANDA, yes, I did buy Milk! Two things I do not forget when shopping, Milk and cat food. If I happen to forget, would have to return for those items, so have learned to remember them. I so enjoy a little coffee in my milk every morning. And hungry kitties do not leave you alone, not for one second.

Becky - I know how you feel. My hubby doesn't like going to the movies and I don't like going with him - he falls asleep. I go occasionally with my daughter or sister but usually I wait for them to come on cable.

Hi CynB, Mary, Rolanda, MizT, Gail, Broni and Becky and anyone else who may drop by.
Cool day here too but sunny and a cold breeze. Should get the washing dry.
It has just about brought all the autumn leaves off the trees so some cleaning up to do.

Hi Everybody... have been away from the site for over 24hours and it seems much longer.....
Sounds like a true addict to me!
I hope somebody is going to explain exactly what ozzie rules is for our O/S members...it is nothing like rugby or soccer...the ball isn't even round!!!

http://www.footy.com.au/dags/FAQ1v1-5.html

ozzie rules is a RELIGION for most true blue ozzies - I played it at school but never got into the cult following. It was all Melbournians could talk about during the season when it was a Victorian oddity...since it became an Australian wide phenomenon it doesn't seem to be as bad. Now that it gets played in other states the city doesn't get gridlocked around the footy ovals on the weekends as much which is good. It used to be truly awful... we needed to check the footy fixture to see if we could go and visit the inlaws...if the footy was on ...forget it...no where to park [they lived near Carlton oval]

Oh Mary - it's getting colder by the minute! That's what I get for my comment yesterday about Qld - beautiful one day. perfect the next. It aint perfect today. Hubby's gone to get firewood!
We Queenslanders can't cope with the cold, as you can see. About 7deg this morning - but our houses aren't built with cold weather in mind, they're built to take advantage of a cool breeze. Plenty of that today with this wind chill factor. BRRRRRRRRR!!!

Hi Mary, hope Vic didn't spend time at the 19th Hole having something to ward off the cold before her went out for his round of golf. Could that be the real reason he couldn't hit the ball??? ( A friend did that once, though don't think he managed to get on to the golf course that day)

Tell me about the cold Mary. after a week of gloriously hot (up to 27C) sunny days we went back to the cold max 11C during the day and I think it got down to 4C one night. I have seriously thought about putting heating back on. Even Richard (my DH) said it was chilly last night in the house and he never feels the cold.
