Stella I think Mary will probably mean Australian Rule football when she talks about footie. There are a few matches shown on our cable tv at present.

Stella, no Emily isn't ill. Her school finishes at 3pm and I was late in leaving to pick her up, but not just because I looked in here. I had to send a spreadsheet to one of my bosses at the last minute.

Not sure what the rules of Australian rule football are Stella, but do know that it isn't like football (soccer) more like rugby I think as the ball can be handled.

Good Afternoon all. Its a cold rainy day here and my wishing it away for awhile hasn't worked ....so I will just have to wait it out. Had to put the heat on for awhile because the house feels cold and damp. Sully just rolled his eyes.... I'll be glad when the weather settles and so will he. He 's tired of hearing me talk about being cold in the house.

Mamacita, know how you feel. I'm running around in sweats and still feel half frozen. Haven't turned on the heat yet though.

Today is May 16. At noon today our temp was 61F, totally unheard of. the temp kept dropping this morning after sun up. That is about 20 degrees lower than norm. We closed doors and windows, but did not need the heater at least. Strange weather!

Hello all on SA4, Hope you're having a great day.
Mary (Q) -I'll leave it to you to explain the differences between our football codes. Too complex for a non-devotee (dare I say that).
Mary (WA) - will take your suggestion about the movie and post on the movie site.
MizT - It's cold in Alabama, and Eve on easy page says it's sweltering in Oregon. Strange weather indeed. We are having balmy days and cool nights. Ah Qld - beautiful one day, perfect the next (tourist ad slogan).
June - don't be worried about the TOPPs - if you can keep ahead, why not. Surely nobody on SA4 takes it seriously.

Hi CynB! You snuck in while I was reading! Was the movie you saw, "Made of Honor?" I ended up seeing "Ironman" today! It was very good, plus we got free popcorn and soda for the grand opening, and although I would love to get popcorn at movies, I never do because it's too expensive. Brendan was going to see it again tonight with his friends at the drive-in, but it is raining.

So everyone has a life but me, no one has posted for over 6 hours. Stella punctuation is not my strong point, but I hope I pass muster.

Hi June, will be down in Melbourne next Saturday, spending some time with family and friends then off to Gails place the next Friday and get together Saturday, fly out Sunday. Starting to get excited about it all. My doc thinks I should be good for next Saturday, finally off all the medications today, so should improve from now on.

Finally here. I have not stopped in properly for ages, but I am here now to share a bubbly with you all.
Raining at last
I believe we were also trying for the coldest May day in history, although I don't remember anyone asking me! When we were in the car to go shopping at about midday, they said on the news that is was 7Cin Melbourne, which means it would have been a couple of degrees colder up our way.

SUDOKULAND!

Boy did the weather man miss the forecast over night. It went to 48F ( 9c) and that is unheard of in May! I got up and put on sweats, still cold, it is sooo foggy and damp. So I TURNED ON THE HEAT, just a bit to take out the chill. OH MY, heat in May??

I remember last week, when it got almost cold at night, forecasters said ENJOY, this is the last we shall see till autumn. WRONG! Now I do remember at least twice when it was chill all the way into June.

Once, my sisters and I gave Mom a gift noone else could give, 3 days of our time! We booked a cabin in a state park, and the 4 of us went for the long weekend. First week in June. We had to have a fire in fireplace over night both nights! We were out in the forest searching for sticks and limbs with no saw or ax, to feed the fireplace hehe. After that first night, found out wood was avaialble at the ranger station at the entrance to the park. Just none at the cabins in June, normally not needed. There was a lovely pool, but too cool to go in. we did sit around the pool mid day in the sun, but only touched a toe to the water .

Another really cool June was when I was about 11. Mom had promised to take us to the comminity swimming pool as soon as it opened June 1. BUT that day was very cool, and she told us, we could not go untill the temp got to 70C (really a bit cool, but kids kept pestering her). there was a little analog thermometer on the rear view mirror of Mom's car. Only problem was, car was in the driveway in the SHADE and thermometer was not moving. Mid morning, I got the idea, if the car were forward about 3 feet, it would be in the sun and the thermemoter would go UP! So, I get into the car, and put in the clutch, while my 8 year old brother and sister give a push. YEP we moved the car the nescessary 3 feet, the sun got on the thermometer, and went above 70 and we went to the pool. almost froze! Mom kept handing down towels and warm shirts to put on, "get your brother out of the pool and make him sit in the sun, his lips are blue enough I can see from here, and your sister's teeth are chattering".

If the movie industry relied on hubby and I, they'd be broke. I think the last movie we went to was "Phenomenon." Hubby won't pay the high prices and the discount theaters start their movies before he gets home from work.

Hubby cut the grass this morning, while I got a few things done inside. I cut his hair afterwards. The last time I wasn't feeling good and forgot to put the blade guide on and gave him a "skunk strip" up the back of his head.
