Hi all! Nice to see you here Debby! I'm back! Nice to see you here Debby! Just under 8 hours round trip. I don't actually unpack their bags. Just unpacking the car to bring their bags to their rooms. It takes a couple of trips. And then they both gave me some of their winter clothes that they wouldn't need anymore, so the car was full going back as well! D2 had a lot more stuff because she's been home since March 1st. Between books and laptop, clothes and laundry, and then various supplies sent back with them(snacks, drinks, paper towels, etc.), it takes a few trips to get it all out of the car.

Max doesn't look any better. Hubby took him back to the doctor this afternoon and there is sign of any infection in his mouth and his tooth doesn't hurt. I don't know if that means it could still be a tooth causing the problem, but I'll call the dentist tomorrow to see what they think.

I'm exhausted, so I'll bid you good night. Have a great day/night everyone!

I must be a bad mother too. If my kids don't pack what they need when we go away they do without. They have done this for years.
I doubt that I will be able to plant anything out in the garden till nearer the end of may, but they will go out into the outside greenhouse to harden off when the weather warms up a bit.
Suzy, fortunately we will not have to pay anything more for water as we pay a standard rate per year for our water.

it used to be like that here too, many many many many years ago.. Brenda..
now we pay a standard rate ( in my neck of the woods - around $1000) per year.. as well as pay for what you use - the more water you consume, the higher the rate per unit you pay.

Good morning all - I should have my new avatar now, but my chair is not as flash as Beans (although i do have a footstool also) or as big and comfy as Dino's.
Stella - Hope you get to the bottom of Max's mouth/gum problems - sounds painful. Hope he's better soon.

That's fairly dull, isn't it? Might go searching again - picked that in a hurry - now I think it looks like an office chair.

Just searching for another - found a red one, no footstool but nice. If I have 2 chairs I can decide daily which one I would be most comfortable in. Am I greedy?

All.
Thank you all for the compliments on my new chair...and yes it is very comfy. I'm sure Dino's sofa is as well - we have one very similar to that in red leather here at home.

Stella, hope Max is better. My brother had an abcessed gum and it took about 2 or 3 days for the antibiotics to kick in. He was also told to rinse twice a day with half-and-half mixture of peroxide and water. Don't know if they recommend that anymore or not.

Brenda, the garden sounds great. The nice thing is that you'll have raspberries, rhubarb and asparagus from here on out without having to replant them.

Rolanda, thanks for the recipe. I'm going to make it this week.

Hello Everyone...The room is being transformed with all of the beautiful furniture....ladies...the chairs and sofa are spectacular...We are almost ready for an open house party aren't we? Of course we must first get all of the renov's completed and heal our sick ones...BTW...sure hope Max will soon be on the mend.
Brenda...sure is good to hear that the weather there is starting to warm up a bit....slight problem going on here now...my sister who is the main reason we are all going has again become ill...she is currently in intensive care...all they know is that there is internal bleeding...but where or why has not been discovered...she's determined to be well enough to travel...and I hope she can...but its a worrisome complication at her age....shes much older than I ...but usually has much more energy and getup and go about her..

BECKY, I was told to rinse with half peroxide too, for a mouth sore. I think docs are going back to peroxide more, as germs become resistant to the antibiotics. I know I used peroxide to irrigate a bad abcess in kitty girl more than once.

Rolanda, that is a LOT more than we pay for water. I guess we are very lucky here, no restrictions and reasonable rates. We are charged by what we use, and we are usually at the lowest rate, $15 a month. IF I have to water lawn, like I did last summer just to keep it alive, not to keep it green all summer, It went up to about $18-20 a month. So, about $200 a year.

Rolanda, do you collect rain water to use for watering your plants?

no Tricia.. dont have rain water tank..
do have a bore.. my garden is on retriculation using the bore water.
I can water once a day 3 times a week on set days (depends on your house # ).. for me it is Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
If I didnt have the bore, and used scheme water for my garden then I can only use the sprinklers twice a week.. Tuesday and Friday.
no restrictions on handwatering..
