CynB, it was just a joking suggestion. I wouldn't really expect that you could find a chicken sitting on a piece of furniture. But, it would sure be funny if you did!

Have just spoken to Gail via 'the love of her life'....good to 'hear' that she is ok!

Had been wanting to ring but couldn't find my phone - her number was in the phones address book and none other..duh..!!! Problem now rectified...big message inside cupboard door with all the other VIP's....she has hit the big time. People surreptitiously take a peek inside my cupboard to check out where they rate... hehe!!

Glad to see that Gail is OK. I've had to drive to Melbourne to get online. Winds have been much worse in Tasmania. My son was called into work last night cos he has experience in severe weather forecasting. He nearly didn't make it cos service stations had no power so he could not get petrol.

Would you like some fresh bread...haven't quite perfected the method yet . This loaf collapsed on top but still tastes pretty good. It's a sourdough rye...perhaps I should try a plain wholemeal next! Problem with all this hot bread is that you eat it...I'll be needing a new wardrobe if I don't watch out.

CynB, I used Google Image and found a green chicken rocking chair. There was also a picture of a chicken walking past a wooden chair and a child's wooden chair with a chicken painted on the back. Yuuummmm Bean. Winds in Tassie got to 175kph! I'm trying to see of any damage in Snug which is south of Hobart and where i have good friend.

My house is fine. Didn't even have a tree come down. I think all the old ones have been blown over already and regrowth in the garden is protecting the others. Didn't even have a drop of rain coming through the roof (it was fixed recently)

You wouldn't believe it that I actually hate chickens with a passion. I think that the chicken along with the cockroach are the ugliest of all God's creatures. And I do not eat chicken not even something that's just had a chicken waved over it like chicken flavoured crisps or crackers. (I'm not vegetarian)

But my chicken avatars and smileys are the best fun I've had in ages.

CynB I like chickens and have photos of lithographs of prize winning chooks from the 1880's.

My computer was hijacked by my granddaughter and now its bedtime

Good morning all! Very windy yesterday so it made it feel colder than it actually was! The kids were fooled by the weather the day before and did not wear jackets to school. Max was frozen when I picked him up from lax practice to go to soccer. He said the kids were going inside the school for drinks so they could warm up a bit! Still cold today, 23F. I thought it was supposed to be warmer, but I guess not!

June, yes we will be driving down. The rest of the band is flying, but I was trying to minimize the cost. It's about a 23 hour drive. We're going to my sister's first and stay overnight. Then we're going to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit my in-laws. I've never been there since they moved down south so we will visit overnight. Then from there it is about an 8 hour drive to Disney. I talked hubby into coming since we are driving and I had to pay for two other people in our room, even though it was just the 2 of us, so he can stay without paying any more. (part of the package, so much per person for a four person occupancy)

6 more days until Disney!!!

Bean, I'm glad you are alright! I was worried last night with the winds here that one of the trees would come down. We live amongst tall skinny pines and usually one falls in the neighborhood with every big storm. Hopefully, you can get the branch down without any damage!

CynB, I love your chicken in a seat belt. Is that from "Chicken Little?"

Julie, ggod luck with your smushing! I find them painful, but it is something that needs to be endured and it is soon forgotten. Well care visits like that are completely covered by our insurance. The only time you have a co-payment is when you are sick. (Like with Max last week!) Good thing it is only $20 a visit(although it used to be $5).
