Hi, Everyone! I'm just popping in before I head to bed. At least I'm almost caught up on reading posts here. I haven't been to Easy in a couple of days. Rena, I hope your ankle and knee are better! That's an interesting story about Al finding his childhood home, MizT. Rolanda, I'm glad to hear things are "moving" in your ensuite. And now, I realize that I'm drawing a blank about other news I read. I hope everyone is well, and I hope to "see" you tomorrow!

Good one Rena!

I was just talking to Sharon. She had been to a shopping centre with a reptile display (school holidays) and Laura was very happy to tell me she had patted a snake and a lizard. Sharon has a snake phobia so it must have been hard for her watching Laura pat the reptiles.

Rena, take care of your ankle. You will need to have it working well in November! Any dates as yet?

Rolanda, ensuite coming on well but is taking a lot longer than ours did (Just over one week!)

Rena, thinking of you...OUCH!

Reminds me of one time when we had gone back to Adelaide for a visit and I dropped D#1 off at her friend's place to stay the night. It was dark, but I was used to that in the country, and I was walking DOWN their driveway. (Now, when I say down, it was THE steepest driveway ever!) Anyway, what I didn't know was there was a pothole in the middle of the driveway and sure enough, I found it! Went down like a sack of potatoes, just like you, twisted my ankle and banged my knee. I jumped straight up, checked no-one had seen me, then hobbled down to the car. I sat there for a minute catching my breath and trying not to cry, got to my friend's house and burst into tears. She bathed my knee, iced my ankle and applied liberal amounts of alcohol (in the form of bubbly) to act as an anaesthetic!

In 1980 my mother had a dream on a Friday night. It freaked her out so much she told her friends all about it on Saturday. It happened on Sunday, just the way she had dreamed, and told, it. It was my father's death.

Everyone. I haven't touched my computer since Friday so have catching up to do on everything.
Rena hope your ankle and knee are feelng better.
MizT I didn't think I had any strange or spokie stories to tell about my family, then I remembered something which happened when I was three.
We were very lucky to have a car then (this was 50 years ago) My parents wanted to go shopping one day, so we all piled into the car. Two older brothers, parents, me and my baby brother, who was only a few months old. This was the time before any safety equipment (seatbelts or baby seats) Mum was cradling him in her left arm, which meant his head was near the door. One of our neighbours came out and insisted that mum left the baby with them as he was crying all the time. Mum agreed reluctantly. On our way to town we were involved in a car accident. A newly qualified driver made a mistake at a junction and ploughed into the side of our car so hard that our car rolled over. If my mum had been holding the baby he would probably have been killed as that was the side the car rolled on to. Everyone else escaped with cuts and bruises (I got glass into my eye but it did no damage).

OHH BRENDA, how scary about your baby brother! I am glad he stayed with the neighhhhhbor!

Hubby says he just remembers a lot from age 2. I guess such repetative drives, every day for 6 months, was enough to imprint the route and the landmarks in his brain. He does have a good graphic memory, something akin to photographic memory. I have seen examples and been awed by it.

Back guys... Months afterward Mum went to a 'psychic'. She didn't believe in that stuff but she was still freaked and was exploring. The guy was ecstatic - you have the gift! If you just relax you will see more! I don't think Mum has relaxed since...

My DH has that type of memory too MizT, Last year we went for a trip to Bristol. A place I had never been before but DH used to live. His father was in the army, specialist work which meant he was moved between Bristol and Stevenage. They had lived in Bristol for a year or so when DH was 3 and again when he was a little older. Two different areas of the town. He had never been back to the first home there for 40 odd years but he managed to remember how to get there even though the city had changed quite a lot.

It's my day off! I'm going to take the kids to the library and to Spotlight, which has finally reopened after being water damaged before Xmas. I would't mind so much except that when Spotlight came to town, almost all of the small craft shops closed so I haven't been able to buy my craft needs in town.

I am up to 6 pairs of fingerless gloves, 4 scarves (neat design, super simple, saw it on TV), and several mocks. I can still get some types of wool in town, but have mostly had to rely on my stash..
