I used to work 8am to 4pm for 20 years. Then I switched jobs and went to 8.30am to 5pm. I couldn't cope with that last hour. I had too much to do at home.

You wouldn't read about it, we have only just got the net reconnected. Phone lines were dead this morning after I had been on for a birthday squizz. Then we got home from lunch, and very noice it was too, and found the phone working but the net was not!

My son's birthday is 2 days after mine - I was disappointed that he wasn't born ON my birthday. But I found out that he always hated 'sharing' a birthday with me - which was unfair because his celebration was always the most prominent. I never worried for myself.

No, but I have calmed down a bit now Broni, thanks! It was just the lack of net that was setting my nerves to jangle.

That's what happens when you come here. You kind of forget that you were supposed to be somewhere else.

No Cyn, it has never worried me either, in fact, it was kinda nice, being able to make my birthdays fade a little and make hers the real celebration. We have often shared a family dinner out because it is easier to gather them together once rather than two nights in a row.
Tonight is Chinese take away and tomorrow night, we are going to a pub in a nearby town for her birthday, that way, my son and his girlfriend wont have so far to come.

I have had a very nice day so far. As I mentioned on easy, hubby took the day off, which was a surprise to me because it is a very busy time at work. He brought me coffee in bed and got up to take our youngest daughter to school.
Then after a morning dose of pooter, we went out to lunch at a tres ples bistro not too far from us. We did a little shop on the way home, I needed supplies for the surprise luncheon guests who are coming up tomorrow for Hannah's (D#3) birthday.

Looks like I've got to take hubby to the doc - he thinks he's got a small piece of steel in his eye. He was making a frame out of steel earlier while I was out. I asked him if he'd worn protective glasses but he said 'No - I had my glasses (spectacles) on'. MEN!!!!!

I agree Cyn, that has been a rule in my house like forever. No cooking on birthdays!
