Phone is still dead. And I need a light bulb, a gasket and 2 tyres to register my car. Guess I'm not getting my new jacket.... Bugger my priorities!! Who needs to drive anywhere???

Hubby has already called, so if noone comes in soon, I won't get to chat with anyone....

Good morning all! Pouring rain here today as it was yesterday. Realized this morning that I never got back here yesterday. I went to change my avatar to the chair and I saw that my page still had my house with snow and the utube was from ages ago. I downloaded a bunch of Disney pictures to flickr so I ccould change my page, and I think I forgot to come back here. Of course, I'm not positive I forgot since there are so many new pages, but I don't remember coming back. It must be this dreary weather!

Suzy, maybe you could try logging out and then logging back in.

I haven't seen vdv in a while. That's exciting that his child is in a commercial!

Tornadoes Stella, more than 200 people hurt...

I didn't here anything about it! It must be unusual to have them in Virginia. It's mountainous terrain so it's not conducive to tornadoes. On one of the morning shows they are doing green week and covering a town in Kansas that was completely destroyed last year by a huge tornado. The pictures are incredible. Nothing was left - no houses, schools, buildings, etc. They are rebuilding their town green. All environmentally friendly. They figured since they had to start completely over from scratch, they might as well try to do it right!

What a great idea Stella! In 1984 a hurricane hit Darwin here - on Xmas morning. There was a song made - Santa never made it into Darwin. The photos sound just like you describe for Kansas.

I've just sent 6 posts asking people to check in - first post on someone's page - he/she must have snuck in when noone was around. If people have put their town instead of their state I won't have captured them, but I did my best....

Well I've got to go now, hubby is home and I want to hear about his day....

Hi Stella, Suzy, June and anyone else out there.
Stella everything is ok over here in the Uk. Normal things happening, temps not too high, not too cold, but we are having a showery day.
Just got back from taking Callie for a walk and now going to have a snack with DS before he heads off to uni. DH is in London seeing one of our companies clients (he has had a touch of flu over the last few days so hopefully he will be alright)

Strange that the news about the tornados in Virginia didn't get a mention on your news Stella it was on the BBC website when I logged on this morning at 8:30 and now we even have video footage of the tornado strike

Just saw it on the national news. I guess it's because I don't pay too close attention to the news, it's usually too depressing!

I rarely watch the news on TV, will listen to it in the car when it comes on but mainly get my news from the BBC website which I have set as my home page on the computer so it is the first thing I see when I log in.

Have you managed to get all your cars back on the road Stella?

I've just had a look at your page Stella, believe it or not we were listening to the Carpenters on the hifi system last night.

I saw some posts on "Easy" regarding the pronounciation of the letter "H". I don't know how the topic got started, but I don't pronounce it the same way they do here in America. My family is from Ireland, so we pronounce it the correct and logical way.(at least, that's the way I explain it to my kids) I think it was my father that told me that it originated with the cockney pronounciation of "h" with some of the original/dominant settlers way back when. I just know that I like the softer pronounciation like in "happy" rather than the harsh "atch" which I don't know what word you could use it in. OK, had to get that out once I saw the topic. Sorry about that!

I prefer the softer sound too, though so many people over here actually don't pronounce it at all. You will hear them say appy instead of happy, ouses instead of houses or even orse instead of horse. Very lazy way of talking

The van is still not fixed. Between the cars all breaking down and the gas prices increasing 30+ cents in the past 2 weeks, it's just too depressing. If it's not raining tomorrow, I am going to Boston to see Bryana play softball. I feel really bad that I miss all of her games and she is apparently doing very well. So, I'll go tomorrow and bring some of her stuff home. Then there is an away game about 1 1/2 hours from here in May that I will go to. Maybe I'll be able to take some pictures if the weather is ok.

My (digital)camera has been acting kind of funny lately. I don't know if it is the rechargable batteries finally dying, but I did pick up new ones and they weren't much better. Hubby has been researching slr digital cameras for me for my birthday. I've been wanting to get one for years. Unfortunately, the really good ones are expensive. I told him we should just have a party and say no presents, just voluntary contributions to the camera fund. (After all, I do take all of the family pictures) But, we really can't have a party and 3 of the kids are away at school and I wouldn't want it without them.
