MizT - we could do with some of those killing frosts here if it will kill off wandering jew! There are examples here like your kudzu. I have lost a word at the moment.... I know we have a Chinese Tallowood, and they are considered pests in Florida but not here... There's another one that is planted in CA, but is a serious pest here, it grows wild in bushland or anywhere else it can get to, I'm allergic to it.... drat my aging brain!!!!

Hubby was complaining yesterday - every time he goes to the doctor or pharmacist (he called him a druggist) he's asked if he has a seniors card! He's 12 years away from qualifying for one of those!! Poor bugger went grey in his 30's.

Mary, our bus service has improved slightly, since the new train line.
#2 son is happy!! can catch the bus (in the 'middle of the day' not just peak times) across the park from home, when going to uni; and not have to walk 20 mins to the bus stop on the main road.

with tears and sadness I write this
I received a very sad email from Lynda's husband this afternoon
last week Lynda, had a serious operation, by all accounts was doing well, suffered a setback this morning.
11.15am Perth time, she passed away.

Lynda, a good friend on SA, we will miss you..

RIP Lynda

How wonderful that Peter thought to let her friends know so promptly. How sad to lose her.

It is with tears in my eyes I write this morning. Rolanda found me on MSN before I read the board or my e-mail , with the news of Lynda's passing. It is such a shock. It seems so much sadder, knowing she survived the serious surgery and that "the doctors were very pleased with her progress", then a sudden turn for the worse and her passing.

Lynda, you will be missed.

Prayers go out for her family and friends, and espically to her husband. May all of our collected memories of Lynda help to make her loss much easier.

CynB, I think we are all at a loss for words. Loosing a friend is not easy. When it is a friend from such a distance away, and there is nothing you can DO, it seems worse, somehow. If I were nearby, I would want to go and help her husband feed her horses or would cook a meal and deliver to the house. Can't do that from half way around the world!

Mary/M, I once had a friend say to me, "I never know what to say, so I usually do not say anything". I suggested to her, well, then, first, just say you do not know what to say, then express your sorry at the event, and that will suffice. I find that once this friend did just that, she is more comfortable expressing her sympathy now.

Hi All. Whatever I say never seems to express how I feel, and is stilted and feels artificial. I am sorry is my usual limit...

I went to Lynda's page, I figure she might have it set up to send emails when she gets a message and my 'sorry' will go to Peter
