Good morning all! Off to Boston this morning to see Bryana's softball game. I'm going to bring back a few of her things as well so it will all fit into the car when she comes home. (We don't want to have to bring the van) Just got the van back last night, another big bill! We could have bought a new car with the money we put into the three we have over the last 9 months! Oh well, as they say, hindsight is 20/20 and we need 3 cars so the kids can get to their jobs. (There's no public transportation here)

Maen SUDOKULAND, it is a fine sunny day today with the BLUEST skies. Temps started out at 44 for a low, cool temps for the last of April, but I love it. Hubby turned on the heat, but as soon as I woke, off it goes again! Sun is up and will heat the house nicely now.

We have had some wind gusts, Monday I rescued a large container of salvia (bright red flowers) that a gust had blown from the front deck during the weekend rain. Of course it landed jelly side down, and broke off the flower spikes. The poor leaves looked wilted and limp, I was not sure it would survive. The soil had fallen from the pot and I had to try to scoop it up without disturbing the flowers, and return it to the container. Well, this morning, they look refreshed, almost perky. It will have to set new blooms, but should make it bushier I hope!

Wilted and limp, reminds me, I picked up a couple of sad looking snippets of wandering jew ( green fleshy vine with purple on underside of leaves) from the sidewalk at the grocery, had been blown, broken from a hanging basket they had for sale. I forgot to being them in. I planned to root in water and start my own hanging basket. That stuff is tough. I once had pieces blown off a plant in a storm, it landed on a concrete patio below the deck, and rooted in a little bit of old damp decaying leaves. I rescued those pieces and started a hanging basket for a friend. MUST rescue the plants, the kitties, all of God's creations, well, except snakes. Those are on thier own!

I am off to the car before the sun shines in and bakes the poor snippits!

DRATS, it is still pending. I suppose GATH has not been about the site your yesterday. Maybe today. I checked, it is correct size and not too large a file, and I do not think it is offensive in any way. Maybe tomorrow!

everyone. The sun is shining here this morning. I hope it sticks around. I am using my hummy avatar because I saw one on Sunday. That really surprised me because the weather hasn't been very warm here.

It has been a little busy around here. Thursday, hubby's cousin came with two of his boys to do some turkey hunting. All he saw was a decoy and the ones we feed here. He said he would not shoot those ones. Hubby went quading a few times with his cousin. Took Amber once. She loved it. They went home Monday morning. Had to go to town on Monday and then baseball practice till 7:00. Yesterday evening I spent rearranging Brownie meetings. We were supposed to have Brownie camp this weekend but the weather hasn't been warm enough for sleeping in tents. Temps overnight are still around 0°C. That is postponed until June 6. Should be warmer by then.

Something rotten must be going on with my computer... My phone died after connecting it to download photos... I couldn't get in the chatroom when others could... Then I couldn't get on the site at all, though I could go to other sites... I think today I will be backing up files, just in case....

MizT, wandering jew is considered a pest here - and it's impossible to get rid of. Apparently dogs can be allergic to it too, not sure about cats...

Bought myself a handbag for mother's day. It's hidden in a cupboard so hubby can 'surprise' me with it on the day. I don't usually do that, but my old one is falling apart! Handbags are too personal to let someone else pick for you.

Natascha Kampusch is an amazing lady! For those who don't remember, she is the young girl who was held captive for 8 years. Now she is campaigning for concrete help for the family just discovered. Good on her!!! Wish I could shake her hand.

SUZY, we have killing frosts here, and it dies if left outside, so it is not a perenial. Guess that makes it not a pest? It is used in hanging baskets and such here. Strange how you take a plant to a different location and it becomes a pest!

Consider KUDZU! It is the plant that is covering the south. After a global wide disaster, I would hunt Kudzu, it can be most useful. The flowers and tubers are eitable, the vines are strong for holding things together, and you can make alcohol from the leaves if you have a still and the proper ingredients. Alcohol for FUEL of course. Kudzu was brought here from Japan, and here it has no natural enemies, nothing to keep it in control, and it is almost impossible to eradicate.

To see the vine that covered the south, go to

NINE more till TOPPS? that is a bit of a stretch still, but maybe my post will help someone over the top!

Brenda, mowing is finished for this week, now for the whipper snipper and the edges. Hubby said "this weekend" and I hope he will get around to it! I have bought him many Round-tuits, but he keeps losing them.
