everyone. I have had a busy day. School for Amber first of course. Went to the dentist this afternoon for teeth cleaning. Supposed to be the hygienist but she got called away just before my appointment time so the dentist filled in for her. Next appointment in June for more torture. Oops, I mean cleaning. Back to the lake to get Amber to Guides at 3:30. While she did that I went for a walk to the store. Then I went for coffee with a friend until Guides was over at 5. Got home and fed the troops. Now I'm off to watch my favourite Thursday shows.
Bye for now.

To Lynda

In SA4
It is not a chore
To while away an hour or two…..

Cos’ apon our chairs we can relax..
For then inspired by MizT’s never ending brew
The fat that we then can aspire to chew

Today is different than before
For today I shed a tear or more
For a friend I had never met…

We dream of days that we might meet
Our friends from cyber land
And now we find this dream is spent
For with Lynda it was never meant

We had visited, laughed, ‘talked’ and joked…
Shared our thoughts…compared our passions…
About our lives we often spoke

Today as we share our shock, our loss, our grief..
Let us all remember to tell each other how much we really care..
Don’t let us wait again until it is too late.

R.I.P LYNDA

All...
Don't really know what has come over me...not usually one for prose..leave it to the clever ones like Rayray!!
Anyway.........
Thank you all for my birthday wishes.
Have been on the phone ALL day ..haven't even managed all the puzzles yet! Not to worry.
Judy [San Diego] suggested I 'Celebrate like there will be no tomorrow' which is precisely what I have in mind for what is left of the day. hehe...
Watch out Melbourne!!
Gail would you believe I still haven't managed to get to the gym and so with no further ado I will get out of this chair and beat it.
I will catch you all later.

Very nicely done, Bean.
Hope your birthday is enjoyable. I meant to say in my message that you share a birthday with my niece Emily - she's 33 today.
Mary, Manly - glad you've got you avatars up and running.

BTW Rolanda - I know what you mean by having an unusual name. I never met another Cynthia until I married a man whose mother's name was Cynthia. Now I'm married to a man whose mother's name is the same as my mother's - Jean.
And I gave my children very common names (for when they were born in the early 70's) - Andrew John and Karin Louise. The spelling of Karin was because she had a german surname.

Site has been fairly slow today - both here and on easy (only 90 comments at 6.45pm) - guess no-one is in the mood for frivolity today.

I got back from taking my dh to the station to be greeted with 'guess where I found Callie this morning' from D#2. She then showed me a photo she had taken of Callie having a good search of our dining room table. One of the chairs hadn't been tucked under the table and she had used that as step. Moral of that is for our family to be tidier and tuck chairs under the table when we have finished eating

maEn all!!!

I thought I'd named my kids very common names, and they were in the states. Here noone pronounces d1s name correctly. For a while she wanted to change her name. Then I met a woman who had the same name, but pronounced in the Irish way. I asked her if she had had trouble. She said for a very long time she was known by a name she made up, then one day said 'enough'. She told me to tell d1 to correct anyone who said her name wrong. I passed that on to d1, and that's exactly what she does, teachers, anyone... again and again until they get it right. And she is finally happy with her name.
