I just heard that the lowlife charged with all those counts of child molestation has pleaded guilty to 722 counts of sex crimes. There will be no trial for him.
The murder trial is one I thought had already been tried. It happened less than a mile from me a year ago (4 doors down the road). The guy charged claims self defense. From the newspaper account, he may have a good case. I don't associate with the people around there. There's a former farm that was subdivided into trailer lots, and is occupied by a constantly changing population of white trash. The neighborhood is very upset by that eyesore, but we have not been able to get rid of it. The crime rate is nearly 100% from them, but fortunately they tend to go after each other, or get into drugs. The Sheriff's department keeps a very close eye on them. And they're all afraid of my dogs. One got bitten when trying to enter my yard uninvited.

Morning all!
Still reading but thought I'd start typing early so I don't forget anything...
Tami, I couldn't watch the whole video, too disgusted. I am wondering why he didn't just have a meeting with teachers - in fact, he probably did...
Heidi, you'll be needing to invest in more cages soon! I sincerely hope you don't get to sit on that case. I doubt I could and emerge unchanged. Read on and see that you won't have to! Thank goodness.
Rolanda, I'm starting to get all excited about this weekend!
Brenda, ditto Gail. A very fast month! Great news about Callie.
And posting this before I go over the page...

Heidi, I'm very glad his victims will not have to testify. Scum bag low life.
And that was all there was over the page! Better check my mail before morning rush starts..

As to the murder case, I was just talking to Robert (my good right hand man) and Robert told me he knows the guy. He wished he didn't. He told me that it was not self defense.... it was premeditated murder. He would like to see that guy sent to the chair. This should be an interesting case. Once it starts, if I make the jury, I won't be able to talk about it here. So I'm having fun now.

Heidi, you may have just found your way off the jury. When they ask if you know anybody, tell them about Robert. He has already predjudiced you. They don't want anyone with connections, they want an impartial jury. Glad you are feeling better.
Julie, the video was sent as a welcome back to the teachers. The principal justified it by saying that there were important documents on the jump drive also. These same documents could have been sent as email attachments at no charge. Teachers have been let go and there is a hiring freeze due to budget cuts and this guy can spend money on a video.

One of my students sent me an email thru facebook. I don't know if I should be flattered or annoyed that former students are looking for me. Maybe I should set up another page for my former students.

Tami... I'm not trying to get off the jury. It is my civic duty. I will approach the case with my mind open, if selected, despite what I hear from others. Robert was not an eye witness. I have not heard from the witnesses.

I have served on jury duty but luckily it was a short trial. I don't mind doing my civic duty, I just don't want to get stuck on a trial that could go on for weeks. The trial I served on was over by lunch time on the same day I was selected. Total time: about 3 hours. We found him not guilty of soliciting a prostitute (undercover cop), there was no evidence.

I have a feeling that this will be a shortish trial. I'l be shocked if it lasts more than 3 days. This guy won't have a circus going like OJ.

She simply asked if I worked at my school. I think she might have been shocked that teachers have "real" lives too.

That would be a pretty short trial, and you probably would not have to be sequestered.

Heidi, hopefully you will soon be able to sleep in a reclined position! Are you feeling any better today? I understand your wanting to do your jury duty and have it done with! We'll be thinking of you on Monday when the jury is chosen.
When D2 was here visiting for 3 weeks or so, she received a summons for jury duty. She also wanted to serve, then be free of being called for a while. She was instructed to call a certain phone number the previous day. The message was that only those potential jurors whose last names began with several specific letters needed to report. She was exempt this time.

June, congratulations on winning bowls! I'm sorry to hear that Ken's trip will be extended. I hope it is successful - and not too long.

I have been sent notice that I definitely have to report. The only way this judge lets anyone off is if they are comatose in the hospital. Even then he sends the sheriff to check.

Heidi, we had a thunder boomer a couple of hours ago. Is it possible that we're sharing the same storm tonight? Poor Dennis. Is there any way (other than medicating him) that will help him become used to the noise?

Suzy, I hope when you can get back here that you still have the zippy connection! Are you having a busy day? How is the young woman you were tutoring a few weeks ago? I think she was preparing for some tests to determine placement in programs - possibly military?

I only had a tie-dye shirt once (though I really like them). I never got to wear it. Both Ds wore it when they were in high school. I think it went off to college with one of them.

I just can't discuss the case, Julie. I've never heard of any jury here ever being sequestered. There are too many farmers who have to care for animals.

I only have so much closet space. I will have to count and see how many. I saw a really pretty tie-dye skirt the other day but they didn't have it in my size. I was not happy about that.
With that, I am going to say good night. I have one very long meeting tomorrow. It is supposed to take all day. I can't sit still for that long.

Afternoon all... a very depressed person here. I took Ebob to the doc this morning and a woman came in with her brand new baby. She was so cute! Less than 6lb! This was her second child, the other is 9 years old, so she must be at least getting close to 30. One of the women behind the counter asked...sob...if I was the grandmother!!!!!!! Waaaaaa!!!!!!!! Ebob touched my arm and whispered 'are you okay mum?'

Oh, Suzy! How awful to be imagined the grandmother! My youngest sister has almost always been mistaken for her only child's grandmother. You can bet she doesn't like it much. (I think she was 40 when her D was born.)

Heidi, do you have any peacock attire? I've been looking for a top/tee shirt with peacock feathers or a peacock. I've about given up on finding a tie-dye shirt I like.

I have one peacock T shirt and a silk peacock kaftan. I took the kaftan to Florida with me. It's SO comfy.
If you're looking for a T shirt with Peacocks or Peacock feathers, check out "Cafepress". They have a good selection of designs. I'll find the link for you, if you'd like.
