I've been out running errands, such as pharmacy visit. I need to stop this coughing. The pharmacist gave me some good advice.

Morning all!
Morning rush is about to start but dropped in for a few first.
Cyn - sorry about the food poisoning! Hope you feel better.
Julie - I love you avatars, I keep thinking I should change mine, not that I've done it yet, but I'm thinking about it.
Rena - gumball in the basement - hope there aren't lots of bouncy sounds keeping you awake at night.

June - congratulations on your amazing comeback at bowls! I bet that was an exciting game!
Gail - your trees sound wonderful!
Heidi - love the surprise babies.
Vici - later I hope to get a chance to look at that youtube.
Nola - asthma sucks doesn't it? We let the girls sleep in a tent outside with friends a year or so ago. We had a fire out there for them and they stayed out there! I thought for sure they'd give it up...

Good evening all. Don't remember all that I read but I will try.
Cyn, sorry to hear about the food poisoning. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Heidi, glad you got some sleep. It sounds like you are starting to feel better.
Don't remember anything else. Must be AAADD.

I enjoyed reading about the toys in the basement. There are very few, if any, basements in South Florida. When you dig, you hit water. My garage is were I store all the junk. It would be nice to actually park a car in there but I don't think that will ever happen.
Students start on August 24. We have a week to set up.

I am posting a link to a youtube video. It was made by an elementary school principal and sent to all his teachers. We are facing major budget cuts and teachers are being laid-off yet he has the money to make this video and sent it to all his teachers on a jump drive. Yes, this is in my school district.

Tomorrow I get the whole day to clean my classroom and hang up posters. If I remember to bring my camera, I will take a picture of the disaster area and then an after picture. It is supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow. Remnants of tropical storm Ana. I will be back tomorrow.
Julie, thank you for permission to steal the avatar. I took the one with the peace signs on it.

I'm still on cloud nine about these baby finches. I'm picking up the last one I bought at the airport Thursday night. This will give me a total of 23 Gouldian Finches.
Quite a population explosion!

Tami.... I cannot believe that the administration would be so irresponsible to waste money on that garbage! Heads that made that video should roll. They're obviously not mature enough to be teaching anybody.

I have to report for Jury Duty on Monday morning. This one won't be settled out of court..... which probably means that it is a nasty one. The only case that I can think it might be is a guy who lives about 2 miles from me. He's been charged with 60 something counts of child molestation. I've never met him, fortunately.

Heidi, I'm so glad you got better sleep last night! I hope the pharmacist's advice about the coughing helps!
Gail, your trees sound wonderful! I had not heard of a liquid amber tree, being from northern Illinois, zone 5. I hope you planted at least 30 feet from your house. I don't know how fast they grow, but Mr. Google says they have a vigorous root system & can grow to be 65 feet tall.

Tami, I watched the YouTube. I really don't "get" it. Was it supposed to be funny? Was it supposed to get everyone "fired up" for the start of the new school year? Were the females in the YouTube the office staff - or some of the teachers? It is possible that someone, perhaps the principal, took a class which required the making of a video, and the person thought it was good enough to share. In that case, making the video should not have cost the school or school district any money. Of course, there's the cost of the jump drives and the mailing - to how many employees? - to take into consideration. I don't know how it could be justified. I also can't imagine parents being very excited about seeing the video.
Tami, hope you have a good day tomorrow getting your classroom ready!

Heidi, your finch babies must be a very welcome surprise. Good luck with the court proceedings. I don't suppose the fact that you're nearly a neighbor could make you an ineligible juror. If your guess is right about the case, it's not going to be fun. I sure hope it doesn't last too long!

hoping that I don't get selected as a juror. That's what's happening on Monday morning. There will be nearly 100 people reporting. They'll select 14 of us as jurors. With my luck, they'll make me foreman. I wonder if I could recommend castration?

Hello lovely SA people - I'm back and almost fully recovered. Not exactly sure what it was that made me sick. Had a nice morning with my Mum today. Read back over the pages and now can't remember anything.
June - congrats on the win.
MizT - where are you?
Heidi - it would be hard to be unbiased on that jury. I guess the evidence would speak for itself. Still wouldn't want to be on it and listen to unspeakable deeds perpetrated on children.
Hello to everyone else.

Hope everyone who was ill is feeling lots better.

Just drop in to say Hi and Bye. it has been a lovely day. Had a girl for the day but still got a few jobs done. Things delayed for Ken so he will be away a few extra days.
Maybe if you are still coughing Heidi they may not want you in the court room!

Heidi--Glad you are starting to feel better. I was called for Jury Duty 3 weeks ago, but I asked to be excused because of my age. They granted it. Otherwise my Doc. gives me a letter recommending to excuse me. It worked a few times.

The thing about Jury Duty in Kentucky is that you are on call to be selected for a full year. Every time there is a trial, I have to report for jury selection.
Oh... the phone just rang.... it was one of the other people who is on the juror pool (pure coincidence... the call was for IH) She told me that it's a murder case. I can handle that. As long as children aren't harmed it won't be that bad.

I know Gail it doesn't seem like a month since I dropped them off at the hotel beside the airport for them to fly out. On the other hand it seems ages since they were here. I have talked to them on Skype a few times while they were gone which was nice.
