Heidi, funny thing happened when I scooted off to your link - it added the .au all by itself! Wonder if the t-shirts are $29 in the US?

Off to do the mommy thing again. Make wraps, how on earth do I do that?, get work clothes ready, take one to work and the other to Tae Kwon Do.... I guess I'll get home around 6.15, then back to pick up d1. I think we should add driving to the swear word list...

Suzy, does it give Aussie dollars as the price - or just dollars? We could all end up with similar or matching shirts. (I was also looking for tie-dye designs.)
And now, it's off to bed for me. It's past 12:30 a.m. Good Night or Good Afternoon, Everyone!

Julie and Heidi, night night, and they must be Australian dollars. I forced it to go to the US site and the prices are different as is the layout. I would have to spend some more time there to be sure, but I think the US site also had a bigger selection..

Good morning all.
D#2 had good news this morning, she has been accepted at her first choice university starting in September. She has to go to school soon to pick up her exam results to find out how well she actually did.

I was going into 6th grade(I think) when Woodstock happened. Woodstock is not too far from me. My bil went. It was right next to my sister's college, but she didn't go. I don't think anyone knew that it was going to turn into what it did. That music is classic.

We brought Brendan back to school on Tuesday, Jerry's birthday. We celebrated both of their birthdays, Jerry's and Brendan's, on Monday night. Brendan will be at school for his birthday on the 27th.
Been busy trying to get all the kids ready to go back to school. Ian started preseason for soccer on Monday, so have to drive him to Albany every day for 2 hour practices. It's too far for me to come back home, so I just hang out and wait. This is our first really hot week all summer. I can't imagine practicing in it!

For a couple of my kids' birthday parties, one of the activities we did was to tie-dye t-shirts. The kids thought it was really cool.
My bil, who went to Woodstock, worked with or talked them into naming an ice cream company "Yasgur Farms". That was the site for the Woodstock Festival. The ice cream company had tie-dyed shirts(I might still have one around). My bil, sister and her family went to the 20th reunion of Woodstock and the conditions were the same, wet and muddy! I think my bil was in on the organization of it.

Hi all. I seem to have less time with Ken away!
Suzy, I do know people who have become Grand mothers when they were younger than you are now. But I do understand how demoralising it would be.
Rolanda, you seem to have the party celebrations well in hand. Have a wonderful time.
Brenda, congrats on D2's success.Pleased they enjoyed Canada and are now home safely.
Stella, Happy birthday to Jerry and Brendan. Sounds like you are back to the Mum's Taxi service. How is the painting going?
Gail, I suppose a Galah is another type of parrot!Hope you get a good nights sleep.
Julie, I do love all your avatars.

I don't see much difference in calling our lovely Gail Miss Cockatoo or The Galah. A Galah IS a type of Cockatoo, after all, and a colorful one at that. Since the Aussies seem to think of them as pests, I wish some would be exported for pets. They'd be popular here. But the exportation of birds from Oz was banned in 1960.

I had problems falling asleep last night.... I still have to sleep sitting up.... but once I did, I slept well. I feel like I am getting MUCH better. I still have the cough and some discomfort in the upper chest when I breathe but that's all.
And there's still a painful grape sized, and shaped, lump on my hand. At least the color is back to normal.

Gail, you didn't give us details, other than that your new name is Tired Tail. Hope you sleep well and wake up refreshed!
Stella, great background information - nearly first-hand - about Woodstock! Ah, to be young again! Hope Jerry had a great birthday taking Brendan back to school! Hope Brendan has a great birthday on the 27th! (Is he still on the soccer team?) Good luck to Ian & his soccer team! Are Meghan & Bryanna ready to return to school? Busy family! (BTW, did you finish your painting project?)

Morning all!
I too was hoping to hear from MizT today. By my accounting it's Thursday where she is (or almost Thursday) and Al was due back on Tuesday. He should have jumped on the internet connection as soon as he got home don't you think??
June, I could accept being called grandmother of someone I was actually old enough to be grandmother to! Otherwise it just means I look older than I am...
Brenda, please pass on congratulations for me!
Stella, I know all about sitting around and waiting, though mine is usually after a shorter drive! Baseball is about an hour away, but most other things are only 15 or 20 minutes. By the time I got home I'd have 15 minutes and then have to turn around and go back!

I'm going to get all confused, pot and kettle, bean and tail....
Heidi, I've heard the same thing about one of our other endangered animals. It is illegal to keep them as pets here, but it isn't in the US. There are almost more of them in the US than in OZ now. I just wish I could remember which animal it was! I heard the story a couple of weeks ago and that is too long ago for my brain. I THINK it was a type of lizard, and it may have been at risk rather than endangered.

BTW, I have conquered yet another challenge in that flinging room - I made wraps and the kids liked them. I still think it is this place that is corrupting me!

I know that there are a LOT more Gouldian Finches in captivity in the US than there are in the wild in Northern Oz. These are all from stock imported before 1960.

Hi everyone, just stopping in for a minute. I am suffering from a severe case of meeting-itis. It is what happens when you have been stuck in a meeting all day and can't sit still for more than 10 minutes. I hope everyone one is well, or at least getting better. I will try to be back tomorrow. The kids come on monday so it is getting close. I took a before picture of my room. I will post it with the after picture next week.

Good morning everyone. Wild weather here, strong winds, and now some rain - my lights started flickering, but that seems to have calmed down now.
Brenda, congratulations to your daughter!
Heidi, glad you're feeling a bit better - sounds like a VERY nasty bug!
Bean, did you and Gail do gardening yesterday? I rang, but got no answer, so started on my garden instead. Worked most of the afternoon, but no one even noticed the difference! (Granted, Rob didn't get home till after 11.00 - out celebrating the passing of the Renewable Energy bill)
Today we're getting a chest-of-drawers delivered - hope they can get it up the stairs, though chances are they won't even try, just dump it in the hall-way. Anyway, this morning I moved a heavy desk from one room to another (all that work at the gym is finally paying off!, then dragged our old mattress downstairs - now I have to wait for the rain to stop before I can take it out to the garage. Yes folks, it's an exciting life here!

Oh, forgot to mention - my Hotmail account has stopped working! It won't let me log in - keeps telling me I'm giving some wrong info. Rob and I have both tried everything we can think of, without success - looks like I'll have to just open a new account. I'm really upset - I'll have to memorise a new address!

Hi Everyone
...Time is moving on...School is open for some, vacation time seems to be ending..yet we have the visit and adventures of Bean and Vici to look forward to, as well as the return of MizT...soon..... as she has surely been missed in action around here!
We have wonderful achievements to cheer as in Brenda's d 1's accomplishment in being accepted to her 1st choice of school, and the safe return of the girls from their Candian adventures...Wonderful. We have Stella's kids doing all kinds of things, other than keeping mom riding up and down , or waiting out games being played, as well as Rena's home schooled children's accomplishments to glory in...We have so much to look forward to as the year continues to roll forward at an incredible speed.
We will soon witness the graduations of Rolanda's men, and what ever may follow, such as job hunts, marriage and children. and others that I know are out there but crafts makes impossible for me to recall for now...sorry..
.But the non-human finches come readily to mind...we will keep an eye out for their thriving reports...we are indeed blessed..
Please forgive this poor messenger for not being fully prepared to present a more complete report..but I did try...and now must rest my poor over taxed brain...I know if you don't use it you lose it...where did I go wrong? I did think I was using it enough, however at the rate that I'm losing it, I have not done a very good job....
Whatever is left hopes that you all enjoy a great day/night doing whatever you enjoy most.....Peace!
