Maybe I should have shared my tie-dye avatar on Easy and got the conversation rolling about Woodstock?

I hope you use those Peacock avatars again, Julie. I'm crazy about them.

I'll try to recycle through them often. I'm quite fond of peacocks, too. I just hope I don't bore anyone with my avatars. I also keep hoping Gath will come up with a storage/sorting system for avatars. I could have a folder for peacock avatars, one for stained glass avatars, one for tie-dye avatars, one for Christmas avatars. Heidi, I know such a system would greatly help with your smilies, too.

I thought you all of you might like a tie-dye and peace sign avatar before we finish celebrating the 40th anniversary of Woodstock.

Gail started a Forum page on the subject of a way to sort smilies/avatars. Gath had responded that he would work on it. I even sent him a PM about it. I know he's busy and has a life, and all that, but maybe if a few more people ask him, he'll find a way to do it. He's been able to do so many other things for us here. We just assume he can do everything!

I'm still here (and a few other places), Rena. Have you started making plans for school yet? Seems like most of the school districts around us will be up and running by the end of the month. At least you can set your own schedule.

I finished cleaning out the basement and now gumball has moved down there. He just wants to be able to say he lives in his parents basement. Okay, the truth is it is cooler down there.
His room is now where most of Amber's toys are, not that she really needs them anymore. She has been playing with them lately because Chelsea is here to play with.
Now I am working on cleaning out Amber's room. That child has way too much stuff.
The weather has been rather wet and cold the past two weeks. I miss summer. Hopefully it will come back this week.

I hope Gumball likes his new "apartment" in your basement. Will Amber want her room to be repainted after you clean and sort it out? Will you sell or give away clothes & toys she has outgrown? We still have many of our children's toys in our basement - some stored in their original boxes. Occasionally they like to go down & make a "pilgrimage" of sorts to see their old toys & reminisce. They like to pull out their favorite toys & let our grandies play with them. (Truth be told, our children play with them, too.)

I will not be painting Amber's room. I painted the room upstairs though. What Amber doesn't want and is in good shape will go to the second hand store.

Do you have a consignment store, where you will get some of the money paid for an item - or is it essentially a donation to the store and they keep any profits.

Yes, they are 'fall' trees.
We have liquidambers, elms, chinese cedars and Japanese maples (not all planted today, some were already in).
Today we also planted virgillias, a broom and a tecoma.

Heidi good news on the 'surprise' finches. I sleep in the recliner chair when it is a problem to lay flat. just gives enough elevation to overcome a lot of problems. I have heard Mizt do the same thing.

CynB, sorry about the food poisoning. Hope you soon feel better.

We finished playing the triples Championship game that was swashed out last week. We were losing 6-20 half way through but ended up, to our surprise, winning 26-21. It was just the first round and it will be a couple of weeks before we can play the next round.
I have not heard from Ken. I assume he is busy working. He is in Ho Chi Minh City. I love the shopping there but there is not much that I wanted brought back.(I have a collection of shopping bags that came back over several trips after I requested a fake LV bag....which he did not get)

Gail, the new trees should be great. Liquid Ambers do tend to come down in a storm but are very good as a fire retardant. I saw a house in Sydney that was beside a bush area and they had two L A's beside the house. The fire came and burnt one side of the trees and stopped. It is because they hold so much moisture within their canopy instead of giving off the combustible fumes like the gums.

I got some rest last night. Almost 5 hours of sleep laying down. This is definitely an improvement.

Gail - I have planted over 50 trees on our property and almost all of them are for fall color. I'm very excited for you - a local here (where we have very dramatic fall color) calls the turning of the leaves, "God's fireworks" - LOVE that!

Rena - great to see you here...I'd be working in the cooler basement, too. BTW - send some of that wet weather down my way, will ya?
Cyn - so sorry to hear about the food poisoning. I thought that is what hit me over a week ago, but once the nausea lasted a few days I realized it was probably a bug. Hope you feel anew tomorrow.

I remember the President Kennedy's assination and the first landing on the moon much more clearly than Woodstock. I do remember driving through the Haigth/Ashbury district in SF during that time to see all the hippies and flower children. Very colorful!

Renae and Josh have to move next month as the new owners want vacant possession.Josh's Grandfather is visiting from NZ,so they are all going to visit the Gold Coast to catch up.Great Grandad hasn't seen the girls before.The foster baby is going too.
I think it was Suzy who asked how the boys went camping in the backyard.Didn't happen.The boys and Dad were keen but Mum put a stop to it probably because Ben gets asthma from running around in the cold air.
