I don't know how careful I've been. My back is acting up something fierce. On a pain scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being pain so bad that you black out, I'm at a 7-8 right now. I suspect it's because I was unable to follow the Doctor's orders after the last epidural.

Wow, it has been quiet on this page. I know eaa was expecting not to post for a bit, and I had a bit of life interfering. Heidi, I guess it's been busy for you, what with your back acting up and Doc's medical issues. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Things are still puttering along slowly on this page I see.
Yes Julie, know what you mean, life has been interfering.
My FIL passed away last Thursday morning about 5.15am.
A blessing, he is now at peace.
I sat with him at the hospital for the last week of his life.
The funeral is next Tuesday so I have been busy with the family organising this and that.

And I've been laid up with a nasty infection in my head, the result of a root canal failure setting off a major abscess involving the whole left side of my face. I'm on antibiotics and painkillers, and surgery is scheduled for 3 days from now. They'll actually be removing diseased bone, among other stuff. All of this tends to interfere with my knack for sparkling repartee.

Viv, so sorry to hear of the passing of your FIL! Prayers for you and the whole family! I'm sure it meant so much to him to have you there!

Heidi, my goodness, that does NOT sound pleasant - any part of it. Please know that I'll be thinking of you each day leading up to the surgery and after for a relatively easy and pain-free recovery! Prayers for you, as well! Also, prayers for Doc and a full recovery.

I don't think I've mentioned on SA9A what has kept us so occupied and unfocused for the past 6-8 weeks. **WARNING** If you don't feel up to more sadness, PLEASE skip the following paragraph!

Remember, I warned you! MIL was in and out of ER and hospitals with a tumor, most likely cancerous, on her lung, during much of February through early April. The tumor was discovered in early Dec. on one of the hospital visits. As hubby had an open lung biopsy about 5 or so years ago, he & doctor decided against the procedure for a 95-year-old. There was little sense in aggressively treating the probable cancer. MIL passed about 3 weeks ago. We tried to work around schedules of extended step family for scheduling visitation in this area and in Ohio, where there was another visitation and burial next to her first husband. Hubby had a severe reaction to a cat bite during all of this and was hospitalized and on an IV antibiotic for about 40 hours, so that he missed the visitation and services in our area, but was able to attend the ones in Ohio about 6 days later. I just couldn't lay all of that on our friends at SA9A who have had SO MUCH sadness lately.

Yes, you can, Julie. If we don't understand what each other is going through, who does? This is what support groups are about.
You've really been through the wars. I'm so sorry to hear it. I'm sorry about your MIL's passing, and your hubby's hospital stay. I wish I had Mamacita's knack for knowing the perfect thing to say.

It is good to have somewhere to get things off your chest.
Condolences on the passing of your MIL and hope your hubby is okay now.
Yes Mamacita has a special way with words.
Yesterday afternoon all the family got together and we have put together Eddie's eulogy.
It will be a sad day tomorrow but lovely to remember such a good man.

Our hearts and thoughts will be with you through the service, Viv. It hurts so much to lose someone only when you've had the blessing of having known and loved someone so special.

My husbands family is not easy to live amongst.
But my father in law was a special man to me.
We always got on so well.
I am making sure I have more than one handkerchief with me.

Hello my little Lovelies sorry about my AWL but i have been busy as Had a GR8 time with my son and family over the west.Pickup a tummy bug on the last day NO FUN It lasted for about a weak [well thats how I felt] With hubby home full time now, not much puter time. And have had alot of server drop outs GRRRR. Well must go.

eaa, it's so nice to have you back and posting! I've loved seeing your pictures on that other site! This page has been suffering through your absence. So sorry to hear that you picked up a tummy bug! Hopefully that is al behind you now! Welcome back! I hope you and hubby will be able to work out a schedule so you can pop in regularly - and also hope your internet connection cooperates! Hope you're feeling better!
