Great TOPP, June. You beat me to it! Great new avatar, too.

When I spoke about dusting off the oven, I was more referring to baking, than making a meal.

Vici's post helped me to remember that I wanted to recommend a very good book that I'm just finishing up...'One Thousand White Women', by Jim Fergus. It is a novel that tells the tale of the US Government sending women who sought freedom from certain conditions they wish to escape to inter-marry with Indians from the Cheyenne and Sioux tribes and bearing children, in the hopes of 'teaching them how to become a part of the larger society in the future. It is a tale of deception, love, suspense, exultation, and triumph. A very good read. Its been around for awhile, but I just finally worked my way to it. I'm sorry it took me so long.

Brenda...Glad to hear Celia will be released soon to home and has such thoughtful friends to keep an eye on her.
Awhile back, you asked if I had seen Angelique while I was in California, and I don't know if I answered you...but yes, I did have a chance to spend time with her and look forward to seeing her again next month when I go to the Sudoku meet in S.F...Horay!!!!

Heidi...I too was pleased with the history that you added about the horses that were originally bred by the Indians and the fact thatthey are currently involved in reclaiming a part of their breeding fame. Great!

Don't think it's you. I've been having a slow connection lately. Was beginning to think somebody threw molassess into it.

Got to admit I don't follow sports much, not even OSU. Excessive tv coverage has turned me off of the team.

Becky..nice of you to ask about my interestin spite of your feeling..I know what youmean about the hype from the tv taking some of the fun from sports for lots of people, but I'm sure that its just the very over the topp hype that has also drawn some to the sport. I do still enjoy the actual games , and I don't get too deep into the rest of the 'stuff'. I know many who share your distaste for the excessive coverage too.

I think I may be recovering from the Mono. I couldn't fall asleep. But I'm not going to get too excited. I had one bout of insomnia already. If I can stay somewhat awake for a few more days, I'll start believing it.

Oh, yeah, Mama. I wanted to mention the Penn State, Wisconsin game. IH and I had season tickets to the Wisconsin games (when we both attended college there. I ended up booing Wisconsin each game. They would lose 53-0, 63-0, and so on. I still enjoy seeing them beaten by a better team.

Mamacita, my body is more toned, but today I am tired and DO NOT want to go! Especially since it looks like rain. I put in my resignation and ever since it has been really hard. It was much easier before then!

Sorry that I had to run the dog out for awhile and I didn't get to finish talking....Heidi...Loved the fact that you keep cheering for the 'other teams to beat your team.
Becky, I know you enjoy my reaction...I do to...so as our Aussies friends say...no worries...I like to be excited too, but understand the other side of the coin. Jazz and I are both doing well...Jazz seems to be getting use to the meds..he just needs to be walked moreoften now.

SUZY and HEIDI, I am not worried about what others see, after I clean, but instead, what I can see. Makes me happy to see some results after my work.

I did the declutter, dust and vacuum of the living room today. Leaves only the kitchen/eating area (I do not clean his former office, now storage room, and my sewing room is still OK) Maybe I can get a good start on the kitchen tomorrow. I need to run a dishwasher full of glasses and stemware stored on open shelves. we do not use them often and they get this sticky kitchen cooking vapor that holds a nice coating of dust. That and cleaning all the glass canisters. They both look so nice when clean, sparkle in the rays of the lower hanging sun.

I will get to laundry when hubby is almost out of work shirts, will be able to see results if I can hang about 8 work shirts in his closet hehe. Hubby just does not know how to close his closet door. His closet is to the left of the doorway, so each time I exit the bedroom, I get a nice view of the interior. could tell at a glance he was stocked up with nice clean and pressed work shirts

YES, I get out the iron for his work shirts. they are 100% cotton scrub tops, and look kind of wrinkled if not pressed. Steam iron, no collars, no set in sleeves, so an easy job. Eight of them would take about 15 minutes once the iron was hot!

Now to find something to go with the BBQ venison we have for dinner. if I have cabbage, might make coleslaw and baked beans, put the BBQ on a whole wheat bun and hubby would be delighted. Have already made orange J-ello ( jelly?) and mandrian oranges for dessert. think that will sufice. OK, time to see if there is cabbage. Huumm, if not, perhaps marinated carrots for a salad??

Suzy...Its always hard to keep doing something that tires you and is boring, but you have gained a better toned body for all of your effort. Enjoy your 'retirement' from Belly Busters.inc...
Morning Bronti...hope you are feeling a little better...I was glad that you too enjoyed the same type of relationship with your love as I and we can both look back on warm memories...but I knew that already...somehow, those of us who have loved and lost, but had a great relationship seems to come through in our comments. Would love to hang around for longer but must run..see you all soon. Take care...I care. Peace.
