Vici, loved your new photos, the goats were worth the look. they appeared healthy, guess noone, nothing is bothering them too much up there!
Cute photo, you 2 in shorts and coats. did your knees freeze? I remember going to a higher elevation, Clingman's dome I think it was named, in the Smokey Mountains, oh, eons ago. We were in shorts cause it was summer and hot when we started on our drive. We were in a cloud up there, and my knees froze walking up the trail.

I'm baaaack. I'm pretty sure Fiona's puzzle has fractions in the answers. Son #1 would only tell me a bit, says I would never tell him answers, just help him work it out for himself!!!! Payback time. June, I can't see how it will work without fractions. Did you get 18 and 12? If so, you read it like someone else did, but I think that a certain number of years ago, the ship had to be BOTH the same age the boiler is now, AND double the age that the boiler was in that same year.

Susan, Fiona just gave the answer on EASY and yes, it included fractions.
Congrats to Rolanda and sons, they got the answer and the problem worked out for all to see.

Heading on down the road now...will hopefully touch base when we settle in tonight (if we can find internet).
We're heading up to high altitudes again to do the loop over the Hell's Canyon outlooks and then up the Snake River into Hell's Canyon when we get down off the loop.
Hugs to DUGs and Topsiders alike!

Vici... you left off one important bit of that history. The Nez Perce indians were extraordinary horsemen, and developed a breed of horse that became named after one of the rivers they camped around. When the Nez Perce were finally rounded up and put on that reservation, the best of their horses were either commandeered by the soldiers and settlers, or put to death. The breed was first called the Palouse Pony, which evolved into "Appaloosa". The white man has changed the breed considerably so, while selecting for color, they also added quarter horse conformation, a look very different from the original. The Nez Perce are now back in the horse breeding business, and are working on a new breed which has their original characteristics. It is being called the "Palouse".

Good Morning, ALL! Hi, Heidi! I'm glad to see you're back and hope all is well. I've been thinking of you, especially since we learned on Monday that my hubby needs to have the same kind of injection you had.
Sorry, I haven't read any comments today, and am still back on p. 94.

OOPS! I have now started reading THIS page before going back to p. 95. Hello to Vici (congrats on the TOPP and safe travels), MizTricia, Bean, Susan, Heidi, and Mariana (all on this page). I don't dare attempt a listing of other regulars, as well as our somewhat frequent visitors and occasional lurkers or just readers. (That is NOT intended in any way other than a very friendly greeting, by the way.)

Julie... the injections don't help everybody
but when they do, they work miracles. No two people are the same, and injuries vary accordingly. I'm one of the lucky ones that they work on. I hope your husband is, too.

Hello all, I've had a little good news today about my friend Celia. Looks like she is going to be let out of hospital very soon. She is over the moon about it. She knows that she still has, as she puts it, wiring problems where she says things which are incorrect this is worse when she is tired.

OK, now that I'm back on page 96, I see that it was 10 October or so when Vici and Mike started their journey. It is now the 14th (here in the US), so they are no doubt back home. I hope you enjoyED your trip!

SUSAN, friendly greeting is how it read to me, so not to worry.
Yes, Julie, feeling much better here, Almost all surgery stuff has been resolved. BP meds settling in, other than a headache from them, yesterday was a much better day . I do such interesting things on meds! MY MY Julie, you have a lot of pages to catch up! I think I would read the last 2 pages, comment on those, and scan back pages as fast as I could!
HEIDI, most interesting about the Palouse Pony, I learn so much by reading here. Thanks for sharing that story.
VICI, good thing you had socks and a coat in the car with you! Were you driving on to a new location and new lodgings? I am like you, fashion be damned, I will go for WARM! Huumm, if I had my luggage with me, would have been crawling into long pants over the shorts too!
