Well for the first time since 1999 we went trick or treating... and yes, I thought my girls were too old to do it, but they were so eager I gave in to the pressure...
d2 dressed up as Hermione, d1 did some magical thing with face paint and clothes she found in her wardrobe. They both looked great. We started at a friend of my mothers - where they got a handful of lollies and we got some fresh fish! I stayed fairly close, but told them that if they wanted to go trick or treating, they had to knock on the doors. I was so proud at how polite they were, and how gracious when people didn't have candy/lollies to offer them.
They were so nice, people who didn't have anything to give them gave them money or fruit! We even visited friends we knew didn't have any candy just to say hello.

AAAHHHGGGGG. my connection picked NOW to be slow!! Go figure! First time I had a slim chance in a TOPPS in ages and ages! A former champ down at the bottom of the list! Good thing I got my champ rating before JUNE came along and joined hehehe, or I would never have made it.

There were a bunch of other kids out, mostly older. The closest thing we saw to a costume was a T-shirt with a superman logo and a mask.
Ally tells me it's the most fun she's had on Halloween since we left America.

I have arrived... quick...here comes the cat...
Eaa…if someone invited me to a wake I would definitely go and I would definitely have one myself if I knew I was about to die..would you? You’re in BIG trouble if you don’t invite me!!
June wouldn’t that be something...a fantastic party and then you don’t die...the Irish in me considers that pretty powerful insurance: have a pre-demise wake to prevent you dying before you are ready!!
Heidi I believe in celebrating life each day and living it as if it is my last..one day I will be right! BTW...TY 4 the smilies hi-d-ho.
June I’ve been emptying boxes R, L & center so I’ll send some right over....
Mariana I hope you will feel better when you get up...I think the theory is good...if it isn't beautiful, useful, or have incredible sentimental value, throw it out’.. but what makes you think that my junk isn’t beautiful, useful [it has purpose - can’t clean what you can’t see] and as for sentimental value...why do you think I still have it all..he he!!
Eaa…’ Eccentric argumentative animal’..what happened to ‘airhead’? Sorry about letting ‘Edna’ slip...do you think anyone would believe me now if I told them your name was Elizabeth? SORRY...DON’T BE MAD...
Susan what is SCARY is I think out hubby’s came out of the same pod!! Don’t talk to me about the phrase ‘telling you before someone else does...’

BEAN, I am not sure I even believe you that eaa is an EDNA. Did she put you up to that, to throw us off?? I think Edna is an honorable name, it is my sisters name and I am quite accustomed to the sound of it.

Tricia you would probably have got the TOPP if Broni had not dropped in. There were still several posts to go when I asked where you were.

Thank you MizT, they had a wonderful time! I have always found it important to let my kids be kids - no M or R rated movies before their time etc, and it seems I have been successful... too successful??

Tricia...that is exactly what is going on with our system...I am so sick of the flashing lights on the modum....I now write all my posts on word and paste now...got sick of losing them all!!! We have to do another isolation test including the burglar alarm...really need to have a chat to the security people....
Hope you have a better night tonight June..

Giving your children a childhood is one of the most important things a Mom can do, good memories and letting them be children as long as they can. Most are in such a hurry to grow up, not realizing, they have the rest of their life to be grown, and such a short while to be a child.

BEAN, we have another ATT Tech comming tomorrow to do something, I am not sure what. Hubby actually listened to a suggestion of mine, when the internet started acting up again just after he got off phone yesterday afternoon. I said perhaps he should call at night, when it is not working properly, and HE DID IT! So they saw that yes, we have a real problem, not exagerating, and are sending out help. I hope this time does it for us. Keeping fingers crossed for me and for you also!

Broni, after I posted about Landmark earlier I did more reading. I don't think they are a cult, but I do think they are a high pressure money machine. The tactics they use are cult-like, except that people get to go home. The 'forums' they hold seem to be very powerful, apparently because they exhaust you to the point where you are very susceptible to suggestion. The follow up appears to be relentless - don't you want to feel that good again??
I formed the opinion, and that's all it is, that the worst that can happen to Theresa's daughter is that she will spend a lot of money. That could be bad, but I've heard of worse!

The VOIP phone doesn't work at the moment...don't know if it has something to do with the internet...or maybe it was when we dropped it yesterday moving the pc when we swapped tables...
Hubby will not be amused...

Had a great day at work
we had international day
I was french with a striped shirt, beret and scarf
and walked around calling out "ELLO" all day
the residents thought it was a hoot..
We also had a belly dancer, that had two of our male demented residents doing things that should have been done in private oh oh

B4 anyone asks...Lachies drama exam this arvo did not go at all well...
15 minutes into the exam he made a hasty exit...vomiting again.. for some funny reason when he returned to his paper he was finding it hard to think and concentrate....
Off to the doctor in the morning...don't know what he can do...Lachie is allergic to anti-emetics but at least we can get a medical certificate and hopefully they will take this into account when marking it. How am I going to get him well enough for Maths and Biology on Monday....aarrgh!!!!!

Liz, we once has something a bit like your gold class, well, it had movies, food and rocking/reclining comfy seats. BUT it was second run movies, and it's name was the Pitcher Show, as you could buy a pitcher of beer, and a pizza or other " man food". Admission proce was only $1, but then everyone bought food and drink and paid for that. It lasted a few years, then closed down. Hubby and i enjoyed going while it lasted. You had to be careful at times, and keep your feet moving, floor was a bit sticky with spilled beer!!
