well june, i give your table all kinds of validation for its collective knowledge. it's fun just to be part of a group like that. your good attitude continues. i am fairly competitive and would have wanted the win. then i would have been embarrassed for insisting on it. what grace you have!

June, halving the score didn't sound fair! You only had 2 more people than the table for 10! Sounds like bad management and not good publicity for future events...

Hi everyone, Just came in from trick-or-treating with the beastie boys. Actually, my husband took them out with an umbella and I stayed home, nice and dry. It was raining all night. My dog and I sat on the front porch and gave out the candy.

Morning SA6, looks like I have missed most of you.
Hi Cyn and TTT!
Thanks to those who responded about Landmark Education, the futher we are looking into looks like they brain wash and intimidate people to sign up their friends and family. Anyone who is interested and has the time check out this video from when they banned them in France.

Broni - I don't know anything about the Landmark group but I do know the pain of an outside influence splitting a close family apart and the ongoing heartbreak of it all. Please tell Teresa to be very careful - about Landmark and about how she broaches any criticism of it to her daughter. That, in itself, can cause problems.
Give her a hug, from one who knows -

Thanks Cyn, yes Teresa is well aware of what they are doing to her family, she is not saying much but has agreed to do the first course just to appease her daughter, it is tearing her apart.

Just got back. While cleaning out the pigeon house, IH came over and said we had a dinner invite in half an hour. With a bunch of his relatives. So I hurredly finished the job, scraped the worst of the mess off of me, and off we went. The food was good.

We "SUPPOSEDLY" are on the National No-Call list. IH signed us up, so I question whether or not we are. We get up to 10 irritating political calls a DAY! 99% of them from Republicans.

Now to read posts that I missed, and finish the feeding.

Oh dear, Broni - tell her I'm thinking of her!
The only other suggestion I have is family counselling but that only works if BOTH sides are willing to give it a try. Keep me posted - I hate to think of anyone going through what I have in recent years. (tears in my eyes)

Cyn, no more tears please otherwise I will start!
You know she is such an intelligent girl (29yo) never thought she would fall for something like this, she was trying to improve her relationship skills, but I believe there is hope.

Heidi - a poll taken in Australia this week shows that over 70% of us hope Obama wins.
We have an unlisted number here in oz and don't get any unsolicited calls except from the best known phone service provider here who hassle us every week to go back to them - like that's going to happen!!!!

Happy Halloween topsiders.
Good afternoon everybody else.
Today looks like being a much better dayyay... about time!!
Didn’t sleep in and miss the doctor... Lachie was even feeling a little better – no severe cramps and managed to keep down a little boiled rice [rice slurry actually...] for breaky.Things are looking up. Dr prodded, poked – ouch, ouch - and confirmed that Lachies gut was still doing internal cartwheels and to stick with the fluids and maybe some chicken noodle soup tonightWe have a certificate! All the well wishes are getting through... thank you.

Mariana I do have a lot of my beautiful stuff on display but have come to the conclusion I should treat it like Christmas decorations. Try not to have everything on display at once and avoid clutter that way. I had custom made shelves in my last house to display my Wedgewood plates but they have been packed in the sideboard ever since we moved into this house!! [15yrs ago] Had a shelving unit made and the boys promptly decided it was PERFECT for CD’s. It was full before I could say BOO!! A room totally lined with shelves is the aim for our study area. I have books, books and more books....LOVE my books!

Bean, poor Lachie. I'm sure the stress of exams didn't help. It's good that you got the doctor's certificate. Some educator types are jaded to parents' and kids' excuses.

Lots of timing out happening ...
June being here isn’t time wasting... even though I said I was wasting time here the other day and Scary Susan [or was she sneaky] picked me up on it... What you don’t do today will wait for tomorrow... I know! I have majored in PROCRASTINATION! I am feeling very virtuous now that I have made space for the contents of the very BIG box that was delivered yesterday. When Pete indulges in retail therapy he does it properly!
Ooh Rena...cool avatar..
Hi Rola – I really hope the certificate will help... he is asleep again now.... quiet lethargic and exhausted. So would I be if I hadn’t eaten for a week!!
Sorry I missed you Tami – out at the doctor’s when you were around.
CynB - thank you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY for your Lachlan. Glad you will be seeing him tomorrow. Broni’s concerns for Teresa is really stirring things up terrible memories for you – big cyber hug coming your way.
[I'm not using smilies in the hope that that will enable this to go through more easily...]

I know Ruby...his English teacher asked why he didn't tell her he was sick [he didn't perform at his usual level at a debate during the week]...precisely for that reason...sounds like you are just making excuses for poor performance!! Lachie was feeling too sick to be stressed out about the exam..LOL!!! There is always a silver lining if you look hard enough and that was it!!! Never ever seen anyone less nervous about an exam!
