Bean, please tell Lachie that I feel for him! I have been reading stuff that implies that Unis etc are taking 'stuff' into account more than they used to. I was not ill during my HSC and it was one of the most stressful times in my life. I can't imagine what it feels like to be physically ill during that time! The stress must be horrendous!

I told one of my students recently that there is a well-guarded secret that parents know but don't talk to their children about - even if you stuff up your HSC you can get to where you want to be, it's just harder and takes longer. We don't usually want our kids to know because they might not give everything they've got, but if things go wrong, options are available.... I have seen increased effort from my student since I told her that. For Lachie, I hope it will give him energy to continue....

My kids trick or treated until they went off to college. They loved getting dressed up. Ian is Jesse James this year. He is studying that part of history, but it is impossible to find cowboy stuff in the stores. Bryana is dressing as an 80's girl at school. I hope she takes a picture. I think Meghan is going to be a belly dancer from Egypt if she is feeling well enough. She has been very ill at school. First time in 3 years that she was too sick to go to classes for 3 days! Brendan is probably not doing anything because he has a big game tomorrow. We're going down for it because they are having a dinner for the players and their families after it.

OH, who was it that was typing all their messages into word and then copying to the page? Was that you BEAN? What I do is, type it here in the Comments box, but select all and copy. that puts it on the windows clipboard. If I loose a post, I have a copy to put back again. Faster and easier for me and no having WORD tab open.

I should go and do more STUFF, my day is wasting away. I get started , then have to go past my desk, and I get sucked into the computer again. I am sure that never happens to any of you!

Good morning MizT! Out yesterday at mri for my shoulder so I won't be able to catch up. I've been working on copying Meghan's articles from Egypt because she needs then for an application for an internship due tomorrow. She forgot all about it until last night because she was sick. It's taking me hours to scan them and email them.

well, here i am this morning with some hot cocoa. i wish it were a dc the plan to get a lot of sleep started out well, then the kiddos had other plans for me around 3 am. they will have to nap today so maybe i can too.

hope yours was great dugs, and i hope the statesiders have a dang good one too. i could be this today. if i had more ambition i would do it!

hi stella, what a nice mommy you are. i would want to kick that child for not getting it done. you instead seem happy to do it!!! where does that good attitude come from? course the goal is to get them independent, so a little help every once in awhile may be necessary. i was mad at my benny today cause he refused to bike a mile to basketball practice. he ended up not going. grrr.

broni, i know a few people who have done the landmark workshops. they are both fairly religious and very normal people who have great families. i'm not exactly sure what is taught, but i know it is not a cult. one of them said her husband went to a weekend retreat type thing and came back a changed man. i told her it takes more than a weekend to change a persons heart. i was right. he was still a dog and they eventually divorced. she remarried and has been living a dream ever since. the landmark is very pricey tho. the other friend of mine is rich in the catagory of having a fine art collection as a hobby. (we sing together in the choir.) she spent LOADS of money going to these things. sorry i don't have more details. i do tend to scoff at these self help things. common sense goes alot further than all that mumbo jumbo.

yes i do mist....and i am so afraid to use it! but, in honor of halloween i thought i would give us all a good scare. heeheheh

bean, how is lachie doing today? that question is for when you read it later on. i know you are all sleeping out there. also, your junk very well may be beautiful, you should put it on display! that theroy was my sister's. i myself love to stack beautiful boxes neatly on a shelf. nothing better than tidy boxes. i like all my beautiful things contained. i also keep books. i love to have something to read at all times. instead of a formal livingroom in "the house" i am doing a library. it will have floor to ceiling shelves, a window seat, a fireplace and comfy chairs...it will probably be my favorite and most used room.

and everybody! I finally got up 'cause the phone wouldn't stop ringing. Mostly political , but enough important stuff that required some awakeness. (NEW WORD!!!) I should think about getting dressed, though, then reading the posts that I missed. BOO!

More mudslinging political calls!! What moron decided to have elections so close to Hallowe'en? I don't like this kind of horror.

I STILL need to get dressed and have Brekky. Then I should do some of the dreaded "W". The pigeon house is in dire need of cleaning.

Heidi - love your description of political calls as 'horror'. I've been thinking back and racking my brain... I lived in CA for 10 years and don't remember a single recorded political message. When hubby wakes up I will have to ask him if he remembers any just in case my mind is protecting itself by blocking the horror-ible memory!

the little ones are sleeping, the house is as clean as its going to get today, and the shopping is done. i'm just sitting around bored! i can hardley believe it! guess i'll go read a book with my. it just doesn't get any better than this!

It turned out great Mariana! I'll put a photo on my page once they're downloaded. Australian kids are not used to seeing them so it got some oohs and aahs.

Went to a baseball trivia night last night. Quite a good night except we were told we could have 10 12 people max to a table. There were 4 tables of 8, one of 10 and we had 12. Because we put two tables together the chap asking the questions (from our baseball club) said he would halve all our scores. I think it would have been fair if he had appointioned our scores. We had a fairly knowledgable group (general Knowledge) and even got more than double the lowest score (before they halved our score) Anyway we enjoyed the night and it was to raise money for the club and they were not prises we needed.
