Bean, loved the list of all your boxes! I would love that. The closest I can come at the moment is my craft stuff organised into a variety of shape, size and colour tins...

Hi Suzy...hadn't realized that I'd developed such a 'thing' about boxes until Mariana's comment...it made me start thinking about all of my boxes.
My favourite [or one of them] is a box Pete bought for me at Pennyroyal when we were in Tasmania. A mixture of beautiful timbers put together and polished with skill by a master craftsmen...
BTW...didn't include all my silver trinket boxes...it would be fun one day to do a photo collage of a few decades of collecting.

Ah Bean - I'm a collector too but I have lots of small collections - Art Deco, Art Nouveau, carnival glass, anything old and glass, paperweights, trinket boxes, pill boxes, blue and white china - small pieces, mainly delft. I used to have a big collection of Wedgewood and Royal Doulton but sold most of it. To house my collections, I have had to buy several display cabinets - mostly silky oak and mostly art deco or nouveau. My sister is as bad. I also like Capidimonte china and bought a large Jardiniere stand and pot, cost a packet. My daughter looked at it and said I shouldn't be let loose with money!! I love it, fortunately so does her daughter so when I go it goes straight to Madeline and by-passes her mother! Hrrmmmpphh!

Hi girls.
Oh am full as a goog here now.
Have just finished eating spare ribs and chips!!
Cooked in the outdoor stove.
What a job today putting computer in sunroom and moving roll top desk etc, but glad this part is done and it is very nice here looking out over my back yard.
I have posted some pics if you would like to have a look.
Collections. Oh dear well I did have a few of them. But in this clean up lots of things have gone. I am being ruthless.

Well hi everyone.Miss you all.I just got up from having a 2 hr nap after work. The day was very busy and also hot by lunch time.
I have been down to Maroochydore (about 300klms south)to see the rhumatolegist again and begin another medication after this one is all out of my system.Had a reaction to the last one and my nose is covered in a rash which also has spread to patches all over me making me itch like crazy.
Only 2 in 500 people get arthritus with psoriasis,
and of those only 2 in 500 will get a reaction.Special arent I.NOT.
Now that I have had my health whinge I'm sure to feel better. At least they should be able to do something about it. Hope you have all had a good day!!

Haven't caught up on all the reading yet, but seeing folks talking about collections. I, too, am a fan of unique boxes. Often get rid of what's ever inside just to use the box!
I am an odd duck when it comes to collections - not much of a pack-rat (I purge the closets and cabinets at least once a year).

So I collect skulls, rocks, birdnests, feathers and the like. More of natures gifts. I have a really cool prayer stick I made that has shells, stones, feathers, a small pine cone and a small skull glued to it. Maybe I'll take a photo of it and post it. I've got to get to Tami's page to see her pictures and VV to see the purse collection. I do like purses...although I don't have too many.

MORNING SUDOKULAND!
coffee for your enjoyment this morning.
I thought about shooting out that light, Ruby, but as mentioned, need to get the photo cell thingy that turns it on and off, that is the problem! AND it does not just happen as it comes on, it goes off, completely off and then back on ALL NIGHT, we watched it for 3 hours, then got tired of watching hehe. Reason hubby is waiting for tech, and not phoning power co himself, let HIM argue with them about what it is doing.
HEIDI, your FCC story reminds me of one that happened up in a town north of us. There were complaints from people in public housing they were not getting good TV reception, and they believed it was from the CB radio antena up on the roof (not supposed to be there). So FCC came out, and traced wire to an appartment. Inside they found a totally paralyzed young man, in an iron lung. He could click his CB mike on and off with one toe. FCC took one look, and left without doing a thing. My Dad talked with this young man for many years.

Tami, play the phone message while you're holding it at arm's length with the radio/tv turned loud.
Mamacita, glad that the Phillies won. Thought I could hear you cheering clear over here.
Suzy, save back some of the pumpkin seeds and plant them next year. You won't have to go hunting, they'll be growing in your own yard.
The rest you can roast and eat as a snack or in salads.

Eaa, you have my full sympathy. Never had a migraine, but hubby and his family get them.
As for the wake, I'd throw a party for friends and family, but would'nt tell them about being ill.
June, glad your cold is getting better (except for the cough), but sorry to hear that you've got hives now.
Bean, sorry to hear about Lachie. Sounds like his body is still fighting to get rid of the bad stuff. Hope he's doing better soon.

Read earlier that one of my favorite authors, Tony Hillerman, passed away Sunday. He wrote a series of books on the Navajos (fiction) and others on the history and nature of the American Southwest.

Broni, a former co-worker went to one of their forums and came back somewhat critical of their methods (long days, limited breaks). At the end, she said that they kept on pushing for attendees to take more classes. She said that they prey on people and their wallets. Wishing that your friend and her daughter the best.

Heidi, we're getting those phone calls, too. Mostly from the Dems, but am sick of all the ads and calls. Maybe 'cause I'm not thrilled with any of the candidates. We got a call from a man who said that he was from the local board of elections and asked if I was Rebecca _____. I told him no. He asked if I knew her. Again told him no and that BTW that's not our last name (not even maiden). Got me wondering about voter fraud.
Marianna, the do not call list does not apply to banks, charities, churches or politicians.
If you don't want a lot of chocolate laying about, put it into plastic bags and freeze. It'll keep more than 3 months before it starts tasting funny.
A few of the churches around town held a "Trunk or Treat" last night. People gathered in their church's parking lot, popped the trunk and handed out candy to the kids. Think it's a great way for kids and parents to feel safe. If you live in a "bad" neighborhood, you can take your children there, no one is turned away.

I wish I had been sleeping!
Took the kids to a school fete yesterday. They had 4 huge rides that I would normally expect to see at something a bit more fancy shmancy than a school fete!
We went so Ally could listen to a group of singers - she may become their 'reserve' when she is a little older. They were great! I think it might have been a bad idea to take her as she seemed a little intimidated by how good they looked.
Since we were there we had a look around, Ebob bought a book (of course) and they both bought some cheap jewellery. And you haven't been to a fete if you didn't also buy fairy floss!! They also went on one of the rides and decided the people who were screaming were just doing it for fun, it wasn't really that scary...
