Of course. They will greatly appreciate it, I'm sure. Luckily, we don't do a lot of pressies for extended family. For my kids, I put more emphasis on gifts for their birthdays, rather than at 'you know when', it spreads the financial shock around!

I hope it is a small parcel you have Kate as I think the surface mail generally closes about the first week in October. I missed the date this year so I have kept anything for overseas very small. (got my first C card today)
