I have tears pouring down my cheeks.... I remember the first time I cooked chowmein...din't realise you had to cook the noodles first....it was VERY crunchy...
I also remeber the first time I cooked fried rice...didn't think to use scissors...

how can I cook when my eyes are all blurry....

Suzy, I am sure we all have funny stories to tell about early cooking adventures.(You need to wash the rice well when you cook it so the starch does not stick it all together).

Suzy, another tip is to rinse the cooked, drained rice with plenty of cold water to stop the cooking process immediately. Then I spread the rice into baking trays lined with clean tea towels, and put the rice into the fridge for the afternoon and let it chill and dry right out.

Evening all! One youngun in bed, another in the shower, hubby on the way home...

I drove them to swimming today but Sharon drove to work(marking HSC) tonight. She is hoping to be back working at School next week. We will know more tomorrow.
