Facebook..in real life...
For those of my older generation who do not really comprehend why Facebook exists.
Presently, I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles.
Therefore, every day I go down on the street and tell the passers-by what I have eaten, how I feel, what I have done the night before and what I will do tomorrow night. Then I give them pictures of my family, my dog and me gardening and spending time in my pool.
I also listen to their conversations and I tell them I love them.
And it works.
I already have 3 persons following me: 2 police officers and a psychiatrist.

That wasn't the best top, so...........
If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
and share with you its beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own;
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me.
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
A friend who's always there.
This is a Hug Certificate!!
Send One to All Your Friends Who You Think Deserve A Hug - (Which,
Hopefully Includes the Person Who Sent It to You).
You might send it to your enemies as well! - It'll really tic 'em
off!

DorA, my mother was on Facebook as acway of keeping up with what was going on with us when she moved to a town of about 500 people. When we first moved back in 2000, she didn’t even want a cordless phone. We lived with her for a while because we came over before Don. I begged her to let me get one so I could keep up with the kids, she never looked back. Next came the cell phone, that one we pushed for because she dislocated her hip mowing the lawn. She called for help for a long time, long enough to get a bad sunburn, before a neighbour 3 doors away climbed fences to find who was calling. Next came the computer after she moved. I swear she forwarded 10 emails a day to me. Then came Facebook. With that came the games you can play through Facebook. She ended up with game friends from all over the world.

It is over. I am home from the last of the Episcopal Place parties. We had pot luck Christmas dinner, and enough food for an army. So much was left over, we gave away as long as anyone would take some home. At last, we tossed bits no one had room for. My 4-day-in-the-making pan of dressing was worth the work I think, every bit was eaten and it was a 10x12x2 1/2 inch pan, several pounds of dressing. I do think it and sweet potatoes were the only 2 things that were finished off completely. I made more than would fit the pan to bake, so I froze enough for when Joy and boy friend can come over, after they return from North Carolina.
I am going to my recliner, turn on heating pad for the back, and perhaps fall asleep
. I tried doing something I do not even do in my own apartment, sweeping up the mess on the floor. Under and around the buffet table looked as if we had fed the pigs there.
I came home with enough ham for a nice sandwich for later tonight, and some sesame seed bread, plus deserts for the next week. tiny slices or servings of 4 of the best deserts. I know cause I had a taste of each hehehe. Took my phone with me, but never made a photo at all.
I also came home with 7 tiny kalanchoe plants, in decorative spherical pots that do not drain. As soon as temps moderate this week, I shall transplant them into 2 hanging pots from downstairs, and hang them in my sunny window. If they make it till spring, they can go outside and perhaps re-bloom. These are all white ones, doubles. Residents all thought they were begonias, but nope, in the succulent family. I had to look them up, and also how to pronounce the name, now I sound like a knowledgeable gardener. Thank you Mr Google
I hope every0ne had a great day, lots of good food to eat, friends and/or family to share with. Huge hugs to each of you, with extras. Happy New year!!

MizT, that sounds wonderful! I would have liked to try your dressing. Dana cooked her first turkey and it was amazing, but her dressing was very dry. I couldn’t eat it, but slipped it in the bin before she could see.

Always serve dressing with gravy, if it is dry, just add a lot of gravy. hehehe
Wish I could send you some. It takes a LOT of liquid and a fair amount of fat to keep dressing from being dry. Leftovers could be reworked by adding chicken broth, a bit of butter and stirring together, then bake just until hot throughout, as everything is already cooked.

I just searched for a photo I thought I took of the return address label from an awesome set of gifts Heidi sent for Tahli. I can’t find it! I thought with that info I could find a phone number. I can’t find it. Sigh.

It is winter, officially and actually. When you have to think in wind chill temps to know how to dress, it is winter.
Have a pain clinic appointment tomorrow, I take my power chair there, it is now raining, about 15 hours fore I must go. Forecast says it should stop about 2 hours before I must leave home. I hope the rain clouds have their clock with them.
I thought I might have Heidi's address . . . wait. . .3289

Hi, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Suzy was right! We just got back tonight from a few days visiting D and family in an eastern state. All of the family was together for the first time in a few years.
We need to be up very early tomorrow to do some banking and pick up local D's dog from the kennel. So I'll say good night and send an abundant supply of healing energy, positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and

Hello from the walking dead. Yes, I have survived. Barely. I have little-to-no memory of the past 10 days, except for people pouring over me with needles and such in the emergency room. The double pneumonia was just the tip of the iceberg. They told me that every single blood test was about off the charts. I still have to go back for more bloodwork and another chest X-ray, but I am on the mend now. And I can get together a rational thought or 2 now and then. But I need to get back to bed now.

I can only say this here, too many grandies on FB. I am a worrier!
Col has just left with Maddy to give her a long driving lesson, which he has been promising for months. He helped Lachlan get his 100 hours up, but he's a little worried about Maddy being too confident.
It's going to be a long day, particularly knowing that they'll be out on the busy post-Christmas highways.

I’m glad you posted Heidi! Wish the news was better though. On my 6th try I didn’t get the message we’re sorry, the number you have dialed is incomplete or incorrect, and switched to we’re sorry, the person you have dialed is not accepting calls from private numbers. Please reverse and try again. I didn’t even know I had a private number and have no idea how to reverse it!
Cyn, I had the opposite problem. Dana was a very anxious driver which was scary! I haven’t taken Alie yet.

DOrA, I especially liked your Hug Certificate 'Almost-TOPP!' Hope you and family had a wonderful Christmas, and hope you pup is continuing to improve!
I hope all who celebrate Christmas had a wonderful day, whether with family, friends, or just one other person!
Heidi, we are so relieved to see the post from you! Apparently your friend Debbie was able to convince you to go to the ER. We will be forever grateful. Please be sure to do all follow-up doctor appointments so that your blood and all systems can get back to normal. Hopefully someone was able to come in and feed and water dogs, birds, and any other animals in need of such attention! Are the cows able to fend for themselves for a while? Here's hoping you can get all the sleep you need and will soon be feeling much better!
CynB, I hope Col and Maddy had a good day of driving! Having to deal with crazy holiday drivers may be one way to reduce over-confidence.
Suzy, I hope all goes well when you and Alie go out driving!
I hope all who aren't currently posting are healthy and enjoying the holidays!
Thinking of everyone and hoping everyone is well or feeling better! Sending

Heidi, it's a long road back from double pneumonia (been there), and life feels frustratingly slow. But try to give yourself plenty of rest for the next couple of months. I know it's easier said than done, but try to avoid squeezing too much into your days for the next little while. All the best for a good recovery.

Greetings to All!
Saltie, though I have no experience with pneumonia of any kind, your advice to Heidi seems very reasonable, sensible, and well-placed. I suspect it will take some time and a LOT of careful pacing to reach complete recovery.
Heidi, please take care of yourself and get extra help if and when you need it to keep chores completed on a somewhat reasonable schedule.
Suzy, it seemed you were relaxing. I'm sorry to hear that you are rooster less - for whatever reason.

Double pneumonia is only part of what's wrong with me. I have to go back to the hospital for more blood tests and chest x-rays. Every single blood test they did on me already was way off the scale, my doctor says. I have at least one other serious illness, she says. I am not allowed to even go outside for another week, except to the hospital for tests. I am not allowed to even try to take care of any animals. Considering that I pass out if I try to do anything, it's good advice. I can barely breathe, and I feel too weak to lift more that a glass to get a drink. I am getting food and liquids into me, so I don't feel as dehydrated as I did. But I'm still dealing with bloody diarrhea in large amounts.
I'll check in again soon. I'm going back to bed.

I was just thinking exactly the same as what Julie just said. Heidi, I do hope that you have someone coming in to check on you and assist with everything. I hope those Docs find a proper, lasting solution to your health problems.
Sorry about your rooster, Suzy.
Col survived the driving lesson with Maddy. They did 5 hours and he said it was good.
Gosh, 2017 seems to have been a bad year for everyone, really bad for some - Suzy, Heidi and our dear June. Here's hoping that 2018 is an improvement for us all and that June's family find solace in the happy memories that she instilled in them.

Heidi, I hope you have someone designated to keep us updated if you end up in hospital. Please.
Cyn, it was 4 roosters and they’ve gone to a farm, along with half a dozen hens. I’ve kept a few, but the neighbors will be able to sleep in. The over 70 year old farmer who took them told me to call him if I need any help. The funny thing is all the young people who offered to help disappeared, the older people came through for me.

My friend Debbie is here for about 4 hours each day to check up on me and take care of the dogs and birds. My neighbor Bobby comes over daily to check on the cattle and horses. My friend Donna is also keeping an eye on the livestock for me. They're lifesavers since my doctor won't let me do a thing.
Would you feel better if I gave my cell phone number to several of you? I'll pm it to you, Suzy, as well as to MizT. I thought she had it, but it looks like she doesn't have the new number.

Happy Almost-New Year to Everyone!
CynB, I'm glad Col and Maddy and a good driving lesson! WOW - 5 hours! I hope they took a break or two and grabbed a bite to eat somewhere along the line!
Suzy, I'm glad the roosters have only gone to a new home and didn't meet foul/fowl play!
I'm so glad the farmer could take them, and has offered to help, if necessary!
Heidi, thanks for dropping by again and letting us know what arrangements you have made with friends for taking care of your animals and checking in on you! Huge thank-you to Debby, Bobby, and Donna! What a confirmation of the difference between men and women! I'm glad you have such good friends! I hope you will feel better with each passing day and further tests help to pinpoint precisely what you are dealing with and help docs develop a treatment plan! If you need another 'keeper of the cellphone number,' I'm available.
I'm off to do a bit more practicing, so will say good night to everyone! Feel free to share the supply of healing energy,

My first one alone. Dana and the kids are going to see fireworks. Alie is working and then going to a party. I was invited to see fireworks, but decided to stick with watching them from my back yard. The racetrack will have them again and it is close enough for me to see all but the ground level ones.

Gizmo is about to have a nervous breakdown. The racetrack fireworks didn’t bother him as much as my neighbour is. They seem to have an endless supply of rockets that make loud bangs, and throw downs or something. If they would just set them off it wouldn’t be so bad, but they’ll stop for 10 minutes, you’ll think they’re done, then BANG. It’s not legal by the way. They must have bought them in the ACT. If we were still having the 40 degree dry days I probably would have dobbed them in. Big fire is scary. It’s been drizzly today though, so I’ll just curse them here and hug Gizmo.

Can I just say sudoku friends are the best?! Whenever something happened in my life, the first person on the phone checking up on me used to be June. Tonight I got a call from another sudoku friend who suspected I might be having a hard time. I will preserve her anonymity in case she doesn’t want anyone to know she is awesome. Another sent me a PM. Although I’m alone tonight, I’m not really.

Suzy, I wish I had been the friend who thought to phone you last night. I'm pleased she did. I was thinking of you and June's family and hoping that 2018 helps you all heal a little more.
We spent NYE with my siblings and our partners as we often do, so it was a fairly sedate affair. I still managed to wake up with a massive headache. 2 wines, not enough water will do that!
Going to be a hot stinker of a day today with severe storms expected. They said that yesterday - we got nothing.
to those still to celebrate it.
