Hmmm, bit on the dry side here, the waiter is to busy shooting at stuff. I will start throwing rolled up bits of paper at him till he realises what I want him to do! After all, how's a girl sposed to cook veg without a glass of bubbly in hand?

Actually they sort of want to learn how, so long as they don't have to actually peel and chop veges.

That was my point too Broni. Obviously hubby won't be cooking or he would have offered already, but no reason the teenager couldn't learn!! Make him a better husband one day. But my kids would be hopeless too.

Suzy, when push comes to shove.. your kiddywinks would not stave.
If they are interested in learning, nothing wrong with encouraging teaching them the basics, learn how to follow a recipe.

When I was recovering my husband yelled at me if he thought I'd done anything. The kids were given orders and between the three of them most stuff got done. I'd do light stuff when they weren't home, but at any other time they took care of me. And I do the same for them when they aren't well. No gender things going on in this house!

Ally cooked the custard tarts all by herself today. She read the instructions on the packet, found everything she needed (with some verbal help from me) and they are good (well, as good as they could be since they came from a packet). She wants me to buy biscuit mix, I said she could use a real recipe.

You're right about them not starving Rolanda, but they wouldn't have any veges!!!

I've just read a news story about a Yak-52 'plunging into the ocean'. I have friends who own one and the husband does joyflights. I hope it isn't him!!!

peel potatoes, carrots, place in saucepan, fill with water, put on stove, bring to boil, and let simmer till cooked. Drain and serve

I'm not sure what the problem is with preparing veges Rolanda. It isn't hard, but they don't like doing it. I have 'asked for help' so they at least know how, but it's something they avoide like the plague. They even like lettuce and carrots!

Just checking steve's page too, but it's a bit far away from him to worry too much.

I'm thinking of starting a 'your night to cook for the family' night. I would help of course, but they would do the preparation and cooking. One day they will have to feed themselves and it will be easier if they are practiced at it. Some hope they might eat properly...

The winds are coming up here, nasty sounding too. The winds we get here are the reason we've lost so many trees - sob!

Well they've stopped looking for the plane until morning, which means no names will be released tonight. I am not going to call because if it is them the last thing they need is another phone call...

Ethan could not cook tea he is doing a double shift at the fish and chip shop.
And if he did it would be 5 minute noodles lol

Gail, Soon I will have to get a phone number from you so i can keep in contact when I am in Geelong.
I have kept the Sunday Oct. 5th free so hopefully someone will turn up to the meet. lol
