MizT hope you are going to be safe from the reaches of Hurricane Gustav. It sounds as if New Orleans is in for a real battering again. fingers crossed that there will be no loss of life.

Brenda, thank yiu for the thoughts. We might get rain, and a tiny bit of wind, but not hurricane strength. Worse case sereno would probably be some short lived tornadoes spun off about time gus makes landfall. But we are in the middle of the state of Alabama, and only once have we had an inland hurricane to worry about, about 5 years ago. Dern thing was still a CAT 1 when it roared through our area. Tree damage and power outages around the area was about all that happened, and jangled nerves from the constant roaring of the wind for over 24 hours!

I will keep a weather eye on it just to be sure. A CAT 4 or 5 that can hit from the Alabama coastline well into Texas , well, they are still most unsure just what he will do.

Nite all, busy day tomorrow as Sharon is in for some tests. Whatever the bug is she has blood tests show it is affecting her liver.

Thanks for the refill, Tricia. I was awake 3 hours ago and could have greeted you. Still struggling with this bug - strangest thing: scratchy (not sore) throat that doesn't get any worse and no energy. Guess it could be worse. Hoping I'm getting back to my usual self by the beginning of the week - oops! - it's here!

VICI, storm not close enough yet to cause any news. we were cloudy earlier, some of the furtherest outter bands from Gus floated by. The satelite view is unbelievable, Cloud cover from LA down to the tip of FL, that is one huge storm! Take a look if you like, I enclosed a link to a weather site. A tad slow, took less than 10 seconds instead of instant, but it is still in the 2 oclock hour. hope it picks up speed later.

Hi MizT, That was Kathy/Valrico who asked, and I've been chatting with her this afternoon. Sweet lady.

Slept through this morning, 'cause I was up all night worshipping the porcelain god. I think it was due to stress. I've had a rough few days. My idiot husband's favorite aunt stopped in to visit, and I was showing her the various animals. I decided to end the tour with a visit with Murphy. When we got to where I had seen him last, he was laying there dead. I took him in to my Vet to be posted. It was a freak thing. He had been dewormed 2 weeks earlier, and unbeknownst to me, the dewormer didn't work. The heavy worm burden brought on a case of Polio (not the same as in humans), killing him within minutes. He had been off feed the night before, but it had been nearly 100 degrees out, and I thought that was what affected his appetite.

Heidi - sorry you're not feeling good. Keeping good thoughts for you - know how much you love your animals and am so sorry for your loss of Murphy.
Drink plent of fluids, young lady!

OH HEIDI, I am soo sorry to hear about Murphy, such a tragic thing, and to just walk up on him and find him down. I know your critters are all so important to you, and Murphy was kind of special. Huge Hugs to you my dear.

Hi MzT - don't know if you're still around - took a shower to see if that helped pick up my spirits. I at least smell better - would have offended if we all had smell-o-puters.

June, I'm so sorry about Sharon. It sounds serious. I hope they sought it out soon... Sending thoughts and wishes.

Heidi, I'm so sorry about Murphy. I didn't know it could happen that quickly. I'm very sad for you and for him. Sending cyber hugs...

For now I have to go. A friend is quitting her job this morning after a long, hard time. I have told her I will buy her a cup of coffee as soon as it's done.

Gone to work already...can't say as much for her younger sister though! At 6.30 this morning I hear this pathetic voice saying "Mum, I feel like sh*t"!.
"Too much partying" says I.
"Yeahhhh"was the pitiful reply!
Told her to ring her supervisor to let him know she wouldn't be coming in. She aske me "What do I say".
Said I-"Tell him what you told me...you feel like sh*t"!!!
